IRCTC Special Trains to Five Gurudwaras

IRCTC’s special Panj Takht Express to connect five gurudwaras from Jan 14
Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, referring to this development, confirmed that that Centre has agreed to start this special tourist train from January 14, 2019, to connect the sacred five takhts of Sikh religion. 
This special train announced on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev is indeed great news for all those, who have always wanted to visit these sacred takhts to pay obeisance.

In order to clear extra rush of passenger traffic one Special train from Madurai to Sainagar Shirdi will run as detailed below.Accordingly, 
  • Train No. 06071 Madurai- Sainagar Shirdi Special train will depart Madurai at 00:45 hrs on 29th December 2016 (Thursday) and arrive Sai Nagar Shiridi at 16:05 hrs on the next day.
  • Enroute, this special train will stop at Dindigul, Karur, Erode Jn, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Chennai Central, Renigunta, Guntakal, Wadi, Solapur and Daund stations.
  • These special train will consist of six coaches viz., two AC III Tier and four Sleeper class .

For the convenience of rail passengers, Railways has decided to provide additional stoppage to the train nos. 14223 /14224 Rajgir- Varanasi – Rajgir Budhpoornima Express at Rafiganj Station from 19.10.2016 & 12165/12166 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Varanasi- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express at Katni Station o­n experimental basis with immediate effect for six months  as under:-
·The 14223 Rajgir- Varanasi  Budhpoornima Express will reach Rafiganj Station at 04.55 a.m. ,while its return service the 14224 Varanasi – Rajgir Budhpoornima Express will reach at Rafiganj Station at 00.03 a.m. with two minutes stoppage in both the directions from 19.10.2016.
·The 12165 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Varanasi Express will reach at Katni Station at 10.05 p.m. while its return service, the 12166 Varanasi- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express will reach at Katni Station at 03.35 a.m. with five minutes stoppage in both the directions with immediate effect.

The 16032 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Chennai Central Andaman Express Train will reach Sanchi station at 02.13 a.m. when departing from Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra with two minute  stoppage o­n temporary basis for six months from 25.09.2016.

Sakshi Malik scripted history at the Olympics this year as she bagged the bronze medal in the 58kg women’s wrestling bout. She was congratulated by prominent sports personalities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted congratulating her for the Bronze win. He had said that India’s daughter Sakshi Malik has earned a new strength and respect for the Tricolour on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also congratulated her by calling her father Sukhbir Malik in Rohtak. He also tweeted “Heartiest congratulations to Haryana’s wrestler Sakshi Malik for winning India’s first medal at #RioOlympics! The nation is proud of you!” Sakshi Malik’s family in Rohtak was also visited by Haryana Minister Manish Grover

SIX MORE TRIPS OF BANDRA (T) - GORAKHPUR WEEKLY SUPERFAST SPECIAL TRAIN

For the convenience of passengers, it has been decided to run six extra trips of Bandra (T) – Gorakhpur Weekly Superfast Special train (fully reserved) o­n special fare, between Bandra (T) and Gorakhpur.  

·02534/02533 Bandra (T) - Gorakhpur - Bandra (T) Weekly Superfast  Special  (6 Trips)

Train No. 02534 Bandra (T) – Gorakhpur (Weekly) Superfast Special train will leave Bandra (T) at 05.10 hrs o­n Saturday and reach Gorakhpur at 14.40 hrs, the next day. This train will run o­n 16, 23 & 30 July 2016.

Similarly, in return direction Train No. 02533 Gorakhpur – Bandra (T) Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Gorakhpur at 07.00 hrs o­n Thursday and will arrive Bandra(T) at 17.35  hrs, the next day. This train will run o­n 14, 21 & 28 July 2016.

This train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Achhnera, Mathura Jn., Hathras City, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Gonda, Basti and Khalilabad stations in both the directions.

The train will have AC II Tier, AC III Tier, Second Sleeper Class & Second Seating reserved coaches.
The booking for Train No. 02534 Bandra(T)–Gorakhpur Weekly Superfast Special will be opened from 14th July, 2016 at all PRS counters and IRCTC website.

Train No.09457 Tirunelveli – Gandhidham Special fare special train will leave Tirunelveli at 07.55 hrs. on 07th, 14th, 21st & 28th July 2016 (Thursdays) and reach Gandhidham at 06.55 hrs. on Saturdays.

YESVANTPUR-PANDHARPUR WEEKLY TATKAL SPECIAL TRAIN

Railways have decided to run weekly tatkal special train between Yesvantpur and Pandharpur to clear the extra rush of passengers as per details given below.
  • Train No.06541 weekly tatkal special will leave Yesvantpur at 18.00 hrs every Thursday from 07.07.2016 to 29.09.2016 (13 Trips) and will arrive Pandharpur at 11.35 hrs next day.
  • Train No. 06542 weekly tatkal special will leave Pandharpur at 13.35 hrs every Friday from 08.07.2016 to 30.09.2016 (13 Trips) and will arrive Yesvantpur at 06.20 hrs next day.

HALTS: Tumkur, Arsikere, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwar, Belagavi, Ghataprabha, Kudachi, Miraj, Kavathe Mahankal, Dhalgaon and Sangola.

COMPOSITION: one First AC cum AC-2 Tier, o­ne AC-2 Tier, Four AC-3 Tier, 10 sleeper class, 2 General second class and 2 General Second class cum Guard's break van.

IRCTC to run luxury trains to Shirdi, Goa, Tirupati

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will soon operate ‘Three Star’ luxury trains from Secunderabad to Shirdi, Goa and Tirupati with the basic tariff structure of normal bus fares.

The announcement came after Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman Pervaram Ramulu made a request to this effect when IRCTC Chairman & Managing Director A.K. Manocha and Group General Manager Smita Rawat called on him at his office on Wednesday, in the presence of TSTDC Managing Director Christina Z. Chongthu.

After hearing Mr. Ramulu’s proposal, the IRCTC in principle agreed to run Three Star luxury trains to Basar, Warangal and Bhadrachalam within Telangana and for group bookings from outside the State, to Hyderabad and Warangal, said a press release.

Mr. Manocha was said to have visited the TSTDC to basically discuss a proposal for operating ‘Seven Star’ super luxury Maharaja Train from Konkan to Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, that passes through Secunderabad and Kazipet in Telangana.

He said that the Maharaja train offered unlimited food and wine with visit to tourist places, including local sight-seeing located near the scheduled halts.

The menu includes continental, Chinese, Thai, Mughlai and Indian dishes and the rooms are lavishly furnished in regal style charged at $ 990 per night for a couple.

1)Train No. 16125 Chennai Egmore – Jodhpur Weekly Express (via Vijayawada) is partially cancelled between Bagat Ki Koti and Jodhpur from 14th May to 4th June, 2016.

2)Train No. 16126 Jodhpur – Chennai Egmore Weekly Express (via Vijayawada) is partially cancelled between Jodhpur and Bagat Ki Koti from 16th May to 6th June, 2016.

RESTORATION OF LADIES COMPARTMENT IN TRAIN NO.12685/12686 CHENNAI - MANGALORE– CHENNAI EXPRESS

Following a complaint from women commuters between Katpadi and Chennai that they were having difficulty in travelling due to non availability of an exclusive compartment for women in Train No.12685/12686 Chennai – Mangalore – Chennai Express, Shri Ajeet Kumar Saxena, Chief Commercial Manager, Southern Railway has given orders to restore the Ladies compartment with immediate effect.

Following this, o­ne General Second Class Coach is being earmarked exclusively for women in Train No.12685/12686 Chennai – Mangalore – Chennai Express with immediate effect.

The rake(coaches) of Train No.12685/12685 Chennai – Mangalore – Chennai Express was recently changed from the conventional rake to the newly acquired LHB coaches, due to which earmarking of an exclusive portion for women in the General Compartment comprising of 40 seats was withdrawn since the LHB coaches were having a different seating pattern. Now, o­ne General Second Class LHB coach with 100 seats is being exclusively earmarked for Women passengers following requests received from women passengers, for provision of ladies compartment in Train No.12686 Mangalore Central – Chennai Central express.
