The speech is in Telugu language. Already GOs issued on Property Tax exemption, Enhancement of SPOs salary from 10,000/- to 20,000/- and War Widows pension from 3000 to 6000. GOs on other items of welfare measures may be issued in the near future. Over all, as on date, the financial benefits to ESM are the best in the country,i.e. more than Punjab/HARYANA stateS. Henceforth, such pensioners will be allowed to draw state government pension along with pension issued by armed forces,“ KCR said. “The government is also constituting a special fund for the welfare of soldiers, a first in the country ,“ said KCR. The fund will begin with annual contributions of `25,000 each from the CM and his cabinet colleagues while MLAs, MLCs and MPs will contribute `10,000 each every year. Thanking eve ryone for joining hands to contribute to the fund, KCR said, “The state government employees have also come forward to gi ve one day's salary to this fund.“ He also announced that the government is increasing the cash awards for soldiers.

IRCTC to run luxury trains to Shirdi, Goa, Tirupati

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will soon operate ‘Three Star’ luxury trains from Secunderabad to Shirdi, Goa and Tirupati with the basic tariff structure of normal bus fares.

The announcement came after Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman Pervaram Ramulu made a request to this effect when IRCTC Chairman & Managing Director A.K. Manocha and Group General Manager Smita Rawat called on him at his office on Wednesday, in the presence of TSTDC Managing Director Christina Z. Chongthu.

After hearing Mr. Ramulu’s proposal, the IRCTC in principle agreed to run Three Star luxury trains to Basar, Warangal and Bhadrachalam within Telangana and for group bookings from outside the State, to Hyderabad and Warangal, said a press release.

Mr. Manocha was said to have visited the TSTDC to basically discuss a proposal for operating ‘Seven Star’ super luxury Maharaja Train from Konkan to Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, that passes through Secunderabad and Kazipet in Telangana.

He said that the Maharaja train offered unlimited food and wine with visit to tourist places, including local sight-seeing located near the scheduled halts.

The menu includes continental, Chinese, Thai, Mughlai and Indian dishes and the rooms are lavishly furnished in regal style charged at $ 990 per night for a couple.

Foundation laid for Upgradation of Sri.Bala Brahmeshwara Jogulamba Railway Station

Taking yet another strong step forward towards meeting the needs of Rail using public, Foundation stone was laid for upgradation of Sri. Bala Brahmeshwara Jogulamba Railway station today i.e. 23rdJune 2016, at a function held at the Railway Station premises. The Railway station, which is located in Mahabubnagar District of Telangana State, o­n Secunderabad-Kurnool section of Hyderabad division, caters to a sizeable chunk of pilgrim traffic visiting the famed Jogulamba Devi Temple, o­ne of the most revered Shakti Peetha in the country.

Sri. Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway took the imitative to approve upgradation of this station, basing o­n the earnings here and also considering the religious importance of the place. Several representations from Hon’ble Members of Parliament, MLA’s and other local body representatives requesting for conversion of the halt station into a full fledged Station has also come in, to which the General Manager responded positively.

The Dignitaries who graced the foundation stone laying ceremony included Sri Nandi Yellaiah, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Nagar Kurnool; Sri A.P. Jitender Reddy Hon’ble of Member of Parliament, Mahbubnagar; Sri S.A.Sampath Kumar Hon’ble MLA Alampur; Sri K.Janardhan Reddy Hon’ble MLC & Sri Bhaskar, ZPTC, Smt Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, SCR welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering.

The up gradation of Sri Bala Brahmeshwara Jogulamba Railway Station will see a host of Passenger Amenities coming up here during the Current Financial year. The Amenities proposed include provision of new Booking office cum Waiting hall, cover over platform, Water taps suitable for physically challenged persons, ramp for physically challenged persons to provide barrier free entry in to station/booking counter, increased lighting, ceiling fans, clock, Public Address system etc. Approach road to the Railway station will also be developed.

Additionally, with the station serving as o­ne of the transit points o­n SCR for the pilgrim traffic during the ensuing Krishna Pushkarams, plans are in implementation to provide required temporary Passenger Amenities and facilities including shelter for the Rail using Pilgrim traffic.

Railways signs MOU for formation of JV Cos with 6 State Governments

Each JV would have an initial paid up capital of `100 crore. Based on the quantum of projects to be undertaken, the authorized equity share capital and the paid up capital can be enhanced from time to time with the approval of Railway Board and the State Government

New Delhi: Ministry of Railways (MoR) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for formation of Joint Venture Companies with six State Governments viz. Odisha, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

Joint Venture Company will be formed with equity participation of MoR (limited to maximum 50%) and concerned State Government(s). JVs can form project specific subsidiary companies (Project SPVs), which may have equity holding by other stakeholders like banks, PSUs, Ports, mining companies etc. as well, to cater to a specific project.

Each JV would have an initial paid up capital of `100 crore. Based on the quantum of projects to be undertaken, the authorized equity share capital and the paid up capital can be enhanced from time to time with the approval of Railway Board and the State Government.

JVs would undertake project development works for an identified basket of projects, which will inter-alia include surveys, preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) and getting requisite approvals, processing for sanctioning of identified projects and monitoring. Projects will be implemented by the concerned Zonal Railway, any Railway PSU or any other agency as decided by the JV/Project SPV in consultation with Ministry of Railways.

Various other steps taken/being taken by the Government for effective and speedy implementation of rail projects in the country are:-

(i) substantial increase in allocation of funds,
(ii) prioritisation of projects,
(iii) delegation of powers at field level,
(iv) nomination of nodal officers for improved co-ordination with the State Governments etc.

In a bid to fast-track infrastructure projects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given specific tasks to secretaries and chief secretaries for timely execution of projects by end of this financial year.

In the mid-year appraisal of major projects, Modi was apparently anguished at the slow pace of execution, as he highlighted the projects’ importance to India’s path of growth.

The Prime Minister through video conferencing with central and chief secretaries gave specific deadlines for giving necessary approvals, creating infrastructure to start work on projects and commissioning of projects held up for years.

He also sought better coordination between central ministries and state governments to prevent “unnecessary” delay and asked chief secretaries to have state specific monitoring mechanism for projects of national importance.

As per the minutes of the meeting accessed by HT, Modi laid emphasis on providing rail linkage to coal mines and creating corridors to evacuate power from plants coming up in new coal mining areas.

He outlined the benefits of the dedicated freight corridor and asked cabinet secretary PK Sinha to ensure timely execution of the project.

Modi issued instructions with respect to projects in 13 different sectors including the 4,000-MW Ramagundam power project in Telangana and the new railway line between Nadikude and Srikalahasti in Andhra for which the chief ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh had made specific requests.

The department of posts was directed to ensure people can monitor their speed post and parcel online by March 2016. The home ministry was asked to make it’s decade long Crime and Criminal Network Tracking System functional by March 2016, which should link the network with e-courts, prosecution, forensic and prison system. 

Delay in execution in projects has cost the government exchequer by over Rs 2,00,000 crore in recent years because of slow pace of land acquisition and environmental clearances.
