Taking yet another strong step forward towards meeting the needs of Rail using public, Foundation stone was laid for upgradation of Sri. Bala Brahmeshwara Jogulamba Railway station today i.e. 23rdJune 2016, at a function held at the Railway Station premises. The Railway station, which is located in Mahabubnagar District of Telangana State, o­n Secunderabad-Kurnool section of Hyderabad division, caters to a sizeable chunk of pilgrim traffic visiting the famed Jogulamba Devi Temple, o­ne of the most revered Shakti Peetha in the country.

Sri. Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway took the imitative to approve upgradation of this station, basing o­n the earnings here and also considering the religious importance of the place. Several representations from Hon’ble Members of Parliament, MLA’s and other local body representatives requesting for conversion of the halt station into a full fledged Station has also come in, to which the General Manager responded positively.

The Dignitaries who graced the foundation stone laying ceremony included Sri Nandi Yellaiah, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Nagar Kurnool; Sri A.P. Jitender Reddy Hon’ble of Member of Parliament, Mahbubnagar; Sri S.A.Sampath Kumar Hon’ble MLA Alampur; Sri K.Janardhan Reddy Hon’ble MLC & Sri Bhaskar, ZPTC, Smt Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, SCR welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering.

The up gradation of Sri Bala Brahmeshwara Jogulamba Railway Station will see a host of Passenger Amenities coming up here during the Current Financial year. The Amenities proposed include provision of new Booking office cum Waiting hall, cover over platform, Water taps suitable for physically challenged persons, ramp for physically challenged persons to provide barrier free entry in to station/booking counter, increased lighting, ceiling fans, clock, Public Address system etc. Approach road to the Railway station will also be developed.

Additionally, with the station serving as o­ne of the transit points o­n SCR for the pilgrim traffic during the ensuing Krishna Pushkarams, plans are in implementation to provide required temporary Passenger Amenities and facilities including shelter for the Rail using Pilgrim traffic.
