Recruitment under Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) 01/2019

Results to the 1st Stage computer Based Test (CBT-1) to be tentatively declared o­n January 15, 2022

2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2) for shortlisted candidates is likely to be scheduled during 14-18 February , 2022

With respect to the Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) 01/2019, issued for recruitment of various NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories) graduate and under graduate posts, Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) held the 1st  stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1) in 7 phases from December 28th,  2020 to July 31st, 2021. The results of the first stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1) is currently under process and the results are tentatively scheduled to be published in the official websites of RRBs by January 15th,  2022.

Further it is stated that 2nd stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2) exam for the candidates who will be shortlisted based o­n 1st stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1) is tentatively scheduled to be held from February 14-18, 2022. However, this tentative schedule is subject to the prevailing conditions and Government guidelines issued from time to time in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.

Indian Railways appeals to all the candidates to refer o­nly to the official websites of Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) for any latest updates o­n the recruitment process and not to get misled by unauthorised sources o­n this matter.

The Union Public Service Commission held a special meeting today to review the prevailing situation due to COVID-19. Taking notice of the opening of lockdown and progressive relaxations being announced by the Central Government and various States, the Commission decided to issue a revised schedule of Examinations/ Recruitment Tests (RTs). Details of the revised calendar of Examinations/ RTs have been published on the UPSC website.
The Commission also decided to resume personality tests for the remaining candidates of Civil Services Examination 2019 from 20th July, 2020. Candidates will be informed individually.
Recruitment Test for the posts of EO/AO in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization earlier scheduled to be held on the October 04, 2020 has been deferred. New date for conduct of this RT will be published on the website of the Commission at the time of issue of calendar of Examinations/ Recruitment Tests for 2021.

Provisional Result of Computer Based Test (CBT)

As a step towards transforming India to Digital India, Konkan Railway has switched over from Manual Recruitment System to Online Recruitment Procedure.

First Notification for online recruitment had been issued for 65 posts of Technician (Electrical : 38, S&T : 27) on 23/03/2018.  Total 2986 candidates  applied against the notification.  Computer Based Test (CBT) for the said notification was held on 25/06/2018 at 5 locations of Maharashtra, Goa & Karnataka.  Examination was conducted very smoothly and successfully in which 2203 candidates i.e. 74 % of applicants  appeared.  Result of CBT for recruitment process have been published on KRCL website on 30/08/2018 in which 65 candidates are kept on regular list and 33 candidates have been kept as standby.  After successful completion of further recruitment process, they will be appointed in Konkan Railway.

Online recruitments in KRCL  is now a transparent paperless procedure, leaving no scope for intrusions by unauthorised persons.

2.3 Crore Applicants for 160,000 Railway Jobs! The World’s mega recruitment drive by Indian Railways is going to be powered by TCS iON which will give Real-time Technology support for smooth conduct of the massive Recruitment drive by Indian Railways for filling up of vacant posts in different categories! Indian Railways gears up for Tight Security, Safety and also plan to run Special Trains to cater to the Huge Rush.

World’s Biggest Recruitment Drive – Some Facts:
  • The recruitment drive will start from August 9th, and will go on for a month.
  • Around 47 lakh people have already applied for the jobs, and out of them, 100,000 shall be recruited.
  • Here is the breakdown of vacancies:
  • 47 lakh applicants for 26,502 vacancies of assistant loco pilots (ALPs) and technicians (Level 2)
  • 19 million applicants for 62,907 vacancies for Level-1 (erstwhile Group D)
  • Railways will install close-circuit cameras, mobile jammers, and metal detectors in and around the examination centers to avoid malpractice
  • TCS was selected after a stringent selection process, wherein the basic criteria was a yearly turnover of $150 million or more.
  • Besides TCS, two other tech services providers have been roped in to provide backend services for the examination.
  • The examination shall be conducted across 500 centers, in 15 languages.
  • TCS has the capability to support 100 million or 10 crore job applicants for any examination, and they will be supporting this mega recruitment drive with 135,000 compute nodes.
  • As we reported earlier, Indian Railways’ decision to go online for this massive exercise will result in saving of 10 lakh trees.

Indian Railways is currently in the midst of a massive recruitment exercise. Indian Railways has come out with a policy to ensure a fare, transparent and competitive recruitment process that follows the law and the guidelines laid down by Hon’ble Supreme Court.
Railways have already reserved 20% posts for ‘Course Completed Act Apprentices’ who were engaged in Railway establishment under the Apprentices who were engaged in Railway establishment under the Apprenticeship Act. This has been done as per Section 22 (1) of the Apprentices Act and the various judgements pronounced by the Hon’ble Supre Court from time to time. Applicants who can completed the Apprenticeship Course have also been given an age relaxation equal to the period of Apprenticeship.
This is the single largest recruitment ever undertaken by any organisation in India and also the largest opportunity for all sections of youth, including the apprentices to join the Indian Railways in a very transparent and fare manner.
Railway Minister Shri Piyush Goyal has appealed to the young unemployed friends to apply for these large numbers of jobs, for which the last date of application is 31.03.2018, and join the process of recruitment so that all applicants get a fare an equal opportunity to serve the country.

Ministry of Railways Announces one of the World’s Largest Recruitment Drive
Ministry of Railways has announced o­ne of the world’s largest recruitment processes for 89409 posts in Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) & Level II Categories. o­nline applications have been invited for the Group C Level II posts like Assistant Loco Pilots, Technicians (Fitter, Crane Driver, Blacksmith, and Carpenter) and Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) posts like Track maintainer, Points man, Helper, Gateman, Porter. This recruitment drive is open for candidates who have passed Class Xth & ITI for Group C Level I posts & Class Xth & ITI or diploma in engineering or a graduation in engineering for Group C Level II posts like Assistant Loco Pilots, Technicians and aspire to join Indian Railways.
Shri Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway said that Ministry of Railways has published a notification no. CEN 01/2018 for Group C Level II Categories posts for the candidates in the age group of 18-28 years who have passed Class X and have an industrial training certificate (ITI) or diploma in engineering or a graduation in engineering.
The notification no. CEN 02/2018 about Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) posts for candidates in the age group of 18-31 years and who have passed Class X and have an industrial training certificate (ITI). The notifications have already been uploaded o­n RRB Websites. The link of the website is as follows:

Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India to hold “Mana Kosam”- Job Mela for Children of Railway Employees in Private Sector

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India will be organizing a Mega Job Mela “Mana Kosam” in association with South Central Railway , exclusively for the children of Serving and Retired Railway employees, for jobs in the Private sector. The final processing will be held o­n 30thJuly, 2017 from 09.00 hours o­nwards at Railway Degree College Campus, Tarnaka Road, Secunderabad.

Sri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manger, South Central Railway formally released the Publicity Poster of “Mana Kosam” Job Mela today i.e. 12th July 2017 at his Chamber at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Sri John Thomas, Additional General Manager and Sri N.V. Ramana Reddy, Chief Personnel Officer, South Central Railway were present.

“Mana Kosam” is a unique initiative which will offer great exposure of the Industry to unemployed youth from Railway families, with a host of reputed organizations / companies joining hands to recruit suitable candidates for various posts.
