Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, Communication, Electronics & Information Technology, and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, flagged off  the new modern LHB Rake of  Train No. 08445/08446 Bhubaneswar-Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar, Hirakhand Express, today evening, through video conferencing from Rail Bhawan, New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vaishnaw said that, “Hon’ble Prime Minister has been stressing upon the need for bringing about reforms in Railways. The vision is to make a wholesome transformation and not just incremental changes. Our Government is pursuing these projects on an express mode. Every year about Rs. 6000 Cr. to 7000 Cr. Rupees is being sanctioned in the budget for development of rail infrastructure in Odisha. This Union Government is committed to provide better connectivity and amenities to our esteemed passengers.” Introducing new modern LHB rakes in Hirakhand Express will provide better and more pleasant journey experience to train passengers, added Shri Vaishnaw.

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, said that special attention is being given by Union Government to this region in the field of developmental of Railway infrastructure and projects.

Hirakhand Express covers its journey of 784 kms from Bhubaneswar to Jagdalpur having stoppages at 21 intermediate stations in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh under East Coast Railway jurisdiction. LHB Coach in Hirakhand Express will provide better comfort and jerk free journey to the passengers. LHB coaches are anti-telescopic, safer, lighter, and more comfortable and jerk free. Replacement of ICF conventional coaches phase wise with LHB coaches is being done from safety point of view. Hirakhand Express will now run with a load combination of 12 coaches as earlier, i.e. 01 AC 2 Tier, 02 AC-3 Tier, 04 Sleeper Class, Three Second Class Seating and 02 Guard cum Luggage & Divyangjan Coaches.

RAJDHANI SPECIAL TRAINS FROM BHUBANESWAR WILL RUN FOUR DAYS IN A WEEK

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TRAIN PASSENGERS:

RAJDHANI SPECIAL TRAINS FROM BHUBANESWAR WILL RUN FOUR DAYS IN A WEEK

It has now been decided to run Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Special four days in a week till June end. Earlier, due to upsurge in Covid19 infection and very poor patronization, it was decided to run this train twice in a week. It stands revised now.

● 02823 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express Special via Tata will run o­n Tuesdays & Thursdays from Bhubaneswar. This train from Bhubaneswar will remain cancelled o­n Mondays & Fridays during the period.

02824 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express Special via Tata will run o­n Wednesdays & Thursdays from New Delhi during the period. This train from Bhubaneswar will remain cancelled o­n Tuesdays & Saturdays.

● 02825/02826 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express Special via Adra from Bhubaneswar will run o­n Sundays & Wednesdays and from New Delhi will run o­n Mondays & Fridays during the period.  

● 02855/02856 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express Special via Sambalpur City & Rourkela will remain cancelled o­n 26th June, 2021 from Bhubaneswar and o­n 27th June, 2021 from New Delhi.

Press Release No. 325, EXTENSION OF THE SERVICES OF TRAINS & CORRIGENDUM IN PRESS RELEASE NO. 321SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY

Press Release No. 325  Dt: 23.12.2020      

I.  EXTENSION OF THE SERVICES OF TRAINS

It is decided to extend the services of following trains to facilitate public to travel, in view of upcoming festivals(Christmas, New Year and Makar Sankranti) as detailed below:-1. Train No. 06515 KSR Bengaluru – Mangaluru Central Express Special was notified to run earlier up to 24.12.2020 will be further extended up to 30.01.2021. There will be no change in frequency, timings, route, composition and fare structure of this train.

2. Train No. 06516 Mangaluru Central – KSR Bengaluru Express Special was notified to run earlier up to 25.12.2020 will be further extended up to 31.01.2021. There will be no change in frequency, timings, route, composition and fare structure of this train.. 

3.Train No. 02253 Yesvantpur – Bhagalpur Weekly Festival Express Special was notified to run earlier up to 26.12.2020 will be further extended up to 23.01.2021 o­n every Saturday. The train will run via Bhattanagar instead of Howrah with effect commencing journey from Yesvantpur from 02.01.2021.

4. Train No. 02254 Bhagalpur – Yesvantpur Weekly Festival Express Special was notified to run earlier up to 30.12.2020 will be further extended up to 27.01.2021 o­n every Wednesday. The train will run via Bhattanagar instead of Howrah with effect commencing journey from Bhagalpur from 06.01.2021.

5. Train No. 02845 Bhubaneswar – Bengaluru Cantonment Weekly Festival Superfast Express Special was notified to run earlier up to 27.12.2020 will be further extended from 03.01.2021 to 31.01.2021 o­n every Sunday. There will be no change in frequency, timings, route, composition and fare structure of this train.

6. Train No. 02845 Bhubaneswar – Bengaluru Cantonment Weekly Festival Superfast Express Special was notified to run earlier up to 28.12.2020 will be further extended from 04.01.2021 to 01.02.2021 o­n every Monday. There will be no change in frequency, timings, route, composition and fare structure of this train.

II.  CORRIGENDUM IN PRESS RELEASE NO. 321

Arrival/departure timings of Train No. 02657 MGR Chennai Central - KSR Bengaluru Festival Express Special at Bengaluru East to be corrected as 03:54/03:55 hrs.
