Telangana Express Flagged-off by Freedom Fighters

 As Part of the ‘Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Station’ Program, o­ne of the South Central Railways’ prestigious train was flagged-off by the freedom fighters from Hyderabad Railway Station



As part of ‘Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Station’ celebrations o­n South Central Railway under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Train No. 12723 (Hyderabad to New Delhi) Telangana Express was flagged off by the freedom fighters from Hyderabad Railway Station today i.e., 22nd July, 2022 in the presence of Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-charge) SCR, Shri Abhay Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Secunderabad and other senior Railway officials. The train was flagged-off by three of our telugu freedom fighters – Shri K. Chandra Prakash Rao, Shri P. Mohan Rao and Shri G. Galaiah.

Shri K. Chandra Prakash Rao: Under the leadership of Swami Ramananda Tirtha, he had actively participated in the student rally and was among those who was sent to Warangal jail for the same. In the year 1946, when he was a Bala Bhatudu under Shri Hayagrivachary, a prominent freedom fighter, Shri K. Chandra Prakash Rao met Mahatma Gandhi at Warangal o­n his way to Wardha Junction.

Shri P. Mohan Rao: He actively participated in the student rally as volunteer under the leadership of Madapati Hanumantha Rao – a prominent leader and founder of Andhra Maha Sabha – for which he was also sent to Warangal jail.

Shri G. Galaiah: From the age 15 years, he had actively participated in the freedom movement of India. He was also involved in the operation polo led by Shri Sardar Vallabh bhai patel. During student agitation at Parakala, he was sent to Warangal sub jail.

The flagging off event of Telangana Express was aimed at honoring our freedom fighters to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence. The freedom fighters expressed happiness and appreciated the efforts of Railways for undertaking this noble initiative to promote the rich legacy of India’s freedom movement. The Railway Protection Force personnel conducted a band display of patriotic songs o­n the occasion.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jain stated that it is a moment of great pride for the zone as we could witness our freedom fighters flagging off the famous Telangana Express. He stated that it is our duty as citizens to recognize and honour the freedom fighters who devoted their life to achieve independence. He called upon the people to recall our freedom struggle with pride. The General Manager also felicitated the freedom fighters at the flagging off ceremony.

A new era of train travel experience with enhanced comfort is being rolled out by Indian Railways with the introduction of newly upgraded Tejas sleeper coach rakes in Rajdhani trains. These bright golden hued coaches, with enhanced smart features are being introduced to run East Central Railway’s prestigious Rajendra Nagar (Patna)- New Delhi Rajdhani Express train and will offer best in class travel experience. This new rake made its maiden run from Wednesday, 01st September, 2021.

The existing rakes of Train No. 02309/10 Rajendra Nagar – New Delhi- Rajendra Nagar Rajdhani Special Express, one of the most prestigious & premium trains are being replaced with brand new Tejas type sleeper coaches. new train will have special smart features for enhanced passenger safety and comfort. The smart coach aims to provide world-class facilities to passengers with the help of intelligent sensor-based systems. It is equipped with Passenger Information and Coach Computing Unit (PICCU) provided with GSM network connectivity, which reports to the remote server. PICCU will record the data of WSP, CCTV recording, Toilet odour sensors, panic switch and other items integrated with fire detection and alarm system, air quality and choke filter sensor & energy meter.

Additional Smart Features:

● PA/PIS (Passenger Announcement/Passenger Information System): Two LCDs inside each coach display vital journey related information to the passengers such as the next station, distance remaining, expected time of arrival, delay and safety related messages.

● Security & Surveillance monitoring: Six nos. of cameras are fitted in each coach which gives live recording. CCTV cameras with day night vision capability, Facial recognition even in low light condition, Network Video Recorder are provided.

● Automatic Plug Door: All main entrance doors are centralized controlled by Guard. Train will not start until all doors are closed.

● Fire Alarm, Detection and Suppression system: All coaches are provided with Automatic Fire Alarm and Detection System. The Pantry and Power Cars have automatic fire suppression system in case detected.

● Emergency Talk back for medical or security emergency

● Improved Toilet Unit: Provided with anti-graffiti coating, Gel coated shelf, New design dustbin, Door latch activated light, Engagement display, Infant care seat.

● Toilet Occupancy Sensor: Automatically displays the toilet occupancy inside each coach

● Panic Button in Lavatories: Fitted in each lavatory, in case of any emergency.

● Toilet Annunciation Sensor Integration (TASI): Two nos. of Toilet Annunciation Sensor Integration are fitted in each coach which will relay dos and don’ts announcement in the lavatories, whenever it is engaged.

● Bio-Vacuum Toilet system: Provides improved hygiene condition in the toilet due to improved flushing and also save water per flush.

● Stainless Steel Under-frame: Complete under-frame is of austenitic stainless steel (SS 201LN) which increases life of the coach because of reduced corrosion.

● Air Suspension Bogies: Provided with Air Spring Suspension in bogies to improve passenger comfort and ride quality of these coaches.

● On Board condition monitoring system for Bearing, Wheel, to improve safety

● HVAC - Air quality measurement for Air Conditioning system

● Water level sensor to indicate water availability on real time basis

● Textured Exterior PVC Film: Exterior is provided with textured PVC film.

● Improved interiors: Seats and berths having fire – resistant silicon foam, provide better comfort and safety to passengers.

● Roller Blind on window: Instead of curtains roller blinds provided for easy sanitization.

● Mobile Charging points: Provided for each passenger.

● Berth reading light: Provided for each passenger.

● Upper berth climbing arrangement: Convenient upper berth arrangement.

RESERVED SPECIAL TRAINS BETWEEN THIRUVANANTHAPURAM CENTRAL AND NEW DELHI

Railway Board has notified fully reserved daily superfast special trains between Thiruvananthapuram Central and New Delhi as detailed below.

Train No. 02625 / 02626 Thiruvananthapuram Central – New Delhi – Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast Special Trains

With a composition of Two 2-Tier AC Coaches, Six 3-Tier AC coaches, Seven Sleeper Class Coaches, Four General second Class Coaches and Two Luggage Cum Brake vans, Train No. 02625 Thiruvananthapuram Central – New Delhi Superfast special train will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 11.15 hrs. and reach New Delhi at 13.45 hrs. the third day. The first service from Thiruvananthapuram Central will be o­n 30th September, 2020.

In the Return Direction, Train No. 02626 New Delhi - Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast Special train will leave New Delhi at 11.35 hrs. and reach Thiruvananthapuram Central at 15.15 hrs. the third day. The first service from New Delhi will be o­n 03rd October, 2020.

Train No. 02625 Thiruvananthapuram Central  - New Delhi Superfast special train will stop at Faridabad and Hazrat Nizamuddin also.

Train No. 02626 New Delhi - Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast special train will stop at Thiruvananthapuram Pettah also.
