Telangana Express Flagged-off by Freedom Fighters
As Part of the ‘Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Station’ Program, one of the South Central Railways’ prestigious train was flagged-off by the freedom fighters from Hyderabad Railway Station
As part of ‘Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Station’ celebrations on South Central Railway under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Train No. 12723 (Hyderabad to New Delhi) Telangana Express was flagged off by the freedom fighters from Hyderabad Railway Station today i.e., 22nd July, 2022 in the presence of Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-charge) SCR, Shri Abhay Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Secunderabad and other senior Railway officials. The train was flagged-off by three of our telugu freedom fighters – Shri K. Chandra Prakash Rao, Shri P. Mohan Rao and Shri G. Galaiah.
Shri K. Chandra Prakash Rao: Under the leadership of Swami Ramananda Tirtha, he had actively participated in the student rally and was among those who was sent to Warangal jail for the same. In the year 1946, when he was a Bala Bhatudu under Shri Hayagrivachary, a prominent freedom fighter, Shri K. Chandra Prakash Rao met Mahatma Gandhi at Warangal on his way to Wardha Junction.
Shri P. Mohan Rao: He actively participated in the student rally as volunteer under the leadership of Madapati Hanumantha Rao – a prominent leader and founder of Andhra Maha Sabha – for which he was also sent to Warangal jail.
Shri G. Galaiah: From the age 15 years, he had actively participated in the freedom movement of India. He was also involved in the operation polo led by Shri Sardar Vallabh bhai patel. During student agitation at Parakala, he was sent to Warangal sub jail.
The flagging off event of Telangana Express was aimed at honoring our freedom fighters to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence. The freedom fighters expressed happiness and appreciated the efforts of Railways for undertaking this noble initiative to promote the rich legacy of India’s freedom movement. The Railway Protection Force personnel conducted a band display of patriotic songs on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jain stated that it is a moment of great pride for the zone as we could witness our freedom fighters flagging off the famous Telangana Express. He stated that it is our duty as citizens to recognize and honour the freedom fighters who devoted their life to achieve independence. He called upon the people to recall our freedom struggle with pride. The General Manager also felicitated the freedom fighters at the flagging off ceremony.

Railways decided to run daily special trains between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus -Hyderabad and Manmad – Secunderabad to clear the extra rush of passengers as per details given below:
1)Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus - Hyderabad Daily Specials
07031 special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 14.10 hrs with effect from 05.12.2020 and arrive Hyderabad at 05.30 hrs next day.
07032 special will leave Hyderabad at 20.55 hrs with effect from 04.12.2020 and arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 13.05 hrs next day.
Halts: Dadar, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Uruli, Kedgaon, Daund, Jeur, Kurduwadi, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Chittapur, Seram (for 07032only), Tandur, Vikarabad, Lingampalli and Begumpet.

For the first time Iron Ore Fines loaded by Railfrom Veldurti (in Andhra Pradesh) of Hyderabad Division - Transported to M/s JSW Steel Siding, Salem
For the first time Iron ore fines has been loaded and transported by rail from Veldurti railway station in Kurnool district falling in Hyderabad Division to JSW steel siding, Salem in Tamil Nandu on 4th July, 2020. A total 45 Box N Wagons with approx weight of 2979 tonnes Iron ore fines have been loaded from Veldurti to Salem.
Veldurti in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh state is surrounded by Iron ore mines and the rail line is served by Hyderabad Division. Generally, the Iron ore fines which are treated as low rated version of Iron ore was being transported by Road to the nearest tiny iron and steel industries located in Kurnool district. Due to the marketing efforts of the Hyderabad Division officials, now, the iron ore fines are being offered for loading by Rail and transported to M/s JSW Steel Siding, Salem in Tamil Nadu state, which is also a new destination located around 624 kms from Veldurti.
With the support being extended by Railways, the freight Customers especially the owners of iron ore mines in and around Veldurti area are showing interest to transport the iron ore fine by Rail to other Southern and Northern parts of India. Transport Iron ore and other related mineral products by Rail is economically beneficial to Consignors as compared to other modes of transport. In addition, loading by Rail is a safest, fastest means for customers including hassle free handling. Besides, Railways is the better option for transportation of products in the during the current pandemic times.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR has appreciated the efforts of Officers and staff of Hyderabad Divisions in capturing new traffic in to SCR freight basket and loading to the new destinations from the division. General Manager advised the staff and officials to promote the new schemes and concessions introduced in recent pandemic times to enhance the freight loading. He suggested the consignors offering iron ore traffic to utilise the Rail transport and assured that Railways will give full support and encouragement in all aspects.

SCR Introduces Door Delivery of Medicines to Employees
South Central Railway has been at the forefront of rendering best possible medical care services to the employees during the prevailing situation due to COVID-19 pandemic in the country. As part of the continuous efforts to provide best services, SCR under the leadership of Shri. Gajanan Mallya, has initiated the supply of essential medicines to the staff and retired employees at their door steps. To begin with, this facility has been started across three Divisions of South-Central Railway i.e., Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Guntakal.
The facility can be availed by Serving Railway Employees & retired Employees who are living in and around Vijayawada and Guntakal. Similarly, the facility is available to all Retired Railway employees living in and around Hyderabad and who are being served by Central Railway Hospital Lallaguda, Health Unit Moula Ali and Kacheguda. This facility is particularly useful to persons suffering with chronic health problems like Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiac related diseases or any other chronic diseases etc.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway has stated that the initiative will save both the time and risks involved in commuting to the Railway Hospitals and will also enable serving / retired railway employees to adhere the strict rules of lockdown due to COVID-19.
Delivery of medicines is being done through the available volunteers / Scouts / Civil Defence personnel. Moreover, the persons are being issued medicines up to 2 months requirement so as to avoid frequent visits for regular checkups to the Hospitals. In addition, a facility of Tele medicine & consultation support through WhatsApp video has also been started for addressing minor ailments.
To ensure that the facility is made available to all, the Mobile numbers of Doctors & Pharmacists of respective Health Units have been circulated through various means of communication.
Further, the procedure for availing these services is also kept simple. A patient has to only submit their Name, UMID Card / Medical ID Card photo, Previous month Doctor’s prescription photo and Address with Landmark to the WhatsApp number of their respective health Units for getting their medicines door-delivered.

In order to clear extra rush of passengers, SCR will continue to run 156 special trains between Tirupati – Nagarsol; H.S Nanded – Tirupati; Narsapur – Hyderabad; Hyderabad – Vijayawada; Machilipatnam – Secunderabad - Machilipatnam; Kakinada Town - Kurnool City – Kakinada Town and Kakinada Town – Raichur - Kakinada Town as detailed below:
1. Tirupati – Nagarsol - Tirupati Weekly Special Trains (18 services):
- Train No. 07417 Tirupati – Nagarsol weekly special train will depart Tirupati at 07:30 hrs on 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, August and 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th September, 2019 (Fridays) and will arrive Nagarsol at 11:55 hrs on the next day.

- In the return direction, Train No. 07608 Tirupati – H.S Nanded special train will depart Tirupati at 15:45 hrs on 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th August and 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th September, 2019 (Wednesdays) and arrive H.S Nanded at 11:30 hrs on the next day.

- These special trains will consist of AC II Tier, AC III Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches.
3. Narsapur - Hyderabad Special Trains via Guntur (09 Services):
- Train No. 07258 Narsapur – Hyderabad special train will depart Narsapur at 18.00 hrs on 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th August and 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th September, 2019 (Sunday) and arrive/depart Secunderabad at 03.55/04:00 hrs on the next day and arrive Hyderabad at 04.45 hrs.
- Enroute this special train will also stop at Palakollu, Viravasaram, Bhimavaram Jn, Bhimavaram Town, Akividu, Kaikaluru, Gudivada, Vijayawada, Guntur, Sattenapalli, Piduguralla, Nadikudi, Miryalaguda and Nalgonda stations.
- This special train will consist of AC II Tier, AC III Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second class coaches.
4. Hyderabad - Vijayawada Special Trains via Kazipet (09 Services):
- Train No. 07257 Hyderabad – Vijayawada special train will depart Hyderabad at 22.20 hrs arrive/depart Secunderabad at 22.45/22:50 hrs on 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th August and 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th September, 2019 (Mondays) and arrive Vijayawada at 06.35 hrs on the next day.
- Enroute this special train will also at Kazipet, Warangal, Dornakal and Khammam stations.
- This special trains will consist of AC II Tier, AC III Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second class coaches.
5. Machilipatnam - Secunderabad - Machilipatnam Special Trains via Guntur (18 services):
- Train No. 07049 Machilipatnam – Secunderabad special train will depart Machilipatnam at 14:25 hrs on 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th August and 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th September, 2019 (Sunday) and arrive Secunderabad at 22:10 hrs on the same day.
- In the return direction, 07050 Secunderabad – Machilipatnam special train will depart Secunderabad at 23.55 hrs on 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th August and 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th September, 2019 (Sunday) and arrive Machilipatnam at 08:55 hrs on the next day.
- Enroute, these special trains will stop at Pedana, Gudivada, Vijayawada, Guntur, Sattenapalli, Miryalaguda and Nalgonda stations in both the directions.
- These special trains will consist of AC II Tier, AC III Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second class coaches.
6. Kakinada Town – Kurnool City – Kakinada Town Bi-Weekly Special Trains (34 Services):
- Train No. 07237 Kakinada Town - Kurnool City Bi-Weekly Special Train will depart Kakinada Town at 18:45 hrs on 1st, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th & 29th August and 3rd, 5th, 10th, 12th, 17th, 19th, 24th and 26th September, 2019 (Tuesdays, Thursdays) and arrive Kurnool City at 08:10 hrs on the next day.
- In the return direction, 07238 Kurnool City - Kakinada Town Bi-Weekly Special Train will depart Kurnool City at 16:00 hrs on 2nd, 7th, 9th, 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd, 28th & 30th August and 4th, 6th, 11th, 13th, 18th, 20th, 25th and 27th September, 2019 (Wednesdays, Fridays) and arrive Kakinada Town at 07:30 hrs on the next day.
- Enroute these special trains will stop at Samalkot, Dwarapudi, Rajahmundry, Nidadavolu, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijayawada, Guntur, Narsaraopet, Vinukonda, Donakonda, Markapur Road, Giddalur, Nandyal, Betamcherla and Dhone stations in both the directions.

- Train No. 07245 Kakinada Town – Raichur Tri-Weekly Special Train will depart Kakinada Town at 14:25 hrs on 2nd, 4th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th & 30th August and 1st, 4th, 6th, 8th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 25th, 27th and 29th September, 2019 (Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays) and arrive Raichur at 08:30 hrs on the next day.
- In the return direction, Train No. 07246 Raichur – Kakinada Town Tri-Weekly Special Train will depart Raichur at 14:05 hrs on 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, 29th & 31st August and 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 26th, 28th and 30th September, 2019 (Thursdays, Saturdays & Mondays) and arrive Kakinada Town at 08:30 hrs on next day.

In order to clear extra rush of passengers during summer season, SCR will run two Summer Special Trains between Hyderabad – Kakinada Town – Hyderabad as detailed below:-
Accordingly, Train No. 07053 Hyderabad – Kakinada Town Summer Special Train will depart Hyderabad at 20.10 hrs, arrive/depart Secunderabad at 20.40/20.45 hrs on 26thMay, 2019 and arrive Kakinada Town at 07.30 hrs on the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07054 Kakinada Town – Hyderabad Summer Special Train will depart Kakinada Town at 20.10 hrs on 27th May, 2019, arrive/departSecunderabad at 06.45/06.50 hrs on the next day and arrive Hyderabad at 07.30 hrs.
Enroute, these special trains will also stop at Warangal, Khammam, Rayanapadu, Gudivada, Kaikaluru, Akividu, Bhimavaram Town, Tanuku and Rajahmundry stations in both the directions.
These special train consists of AC II Tier, AC III Tier and Sleeper class Coaches.
