DAILY RESERVED SPECIAL TRAINS

As approved by Railway Board, the following fully reserved daily special trains will be run as follows: -1.Train No.06866 / 06865 Thanjavur – Chennai Egmore- Thanjavur Daily Special Trains

With the composition of One AC First Class Coach, One AC 2-Tier Coach, Two AC 3-Tier Coaches, Thirteen Sleeper Class Coaches, Three General Second Class Coaches and Two Luggage cum Brake Vans,

  • Train No. 06866 Thanjavur – Chennai Egmore Daily special train will leave Thanjavur at 21.50 hrs and reach Chennai Egmore 04.30 hrs, the next day. The first service from Thanjavur will be o­n 26th October, 2020 until further advice.In return direction 
  • Train No. 06865 Chennai Egmore – Thanjavur Daily Special train will leave Chennai Egmore at 22.55 hrs and reach Thanjavur at 06.00 hrs the next day. The first service from Chennai Egmore will be o­n 27th October, 2020 until further advice.
  • Stoppages:  Papanasam, Kumbakonam, Aduthurai, Kutralam Mayiladuthurai, Chidambaram, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam.
  • Train No. 06865 Chennai Egmore – Thanjavur Daily Special will also stop at Sirkazhi and  Vaithiswaran Koil.

2.Train No.06101 / 06102 Chennai Egmore- Kollam – Chennai Egmore Daily Special Trains

With the composition of Two AC 3-Tier Coaches, Eight Sleeper Class Coaches, Two General Second Class Coaches and Two Luggage cum Brake Vans, 

  • Train No. 06101 Chennai Egmore - Kollam Daily special train will leave Chennai Egmore at 17.00 hrs and reach Kollam 08.45 hrs, the next day. The first service from Chennai Egmore will be o­n 25th October, 2020 until further advice.In return direction 
  • Train No. 06102 Kollam - Chennai Egmore Daily Special will leave Kollam at 12.00 hrs and reach Chennai Egmore at 03.05 hrs the next day. The first service from Kollam will be o­n 26th October, 2020 until further advice.
  • Stoppages: Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vridhachallam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindugal, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Srivilliputhur, Rajaplayam, Sankarankoil, Kadayanallur, Tenkasi, Sengottai, Punnalur, Avaneswaram, Kottarakara and Kundara.
  • Train No. 06102 Kollam – Chennai Egmore Daily special train will also stop at Sivakasi.

3.Train No.02653 / 02654 Chennai Egmore- Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore Daily Superfast Special Trains

With the composition of One AC First Class Coach, Three AC 2-Tier Coaches, Five AC 3-Tier Coaches, Nine Sleeper Class Coaches, Three General Second Class Coaches and Two Luggage cum Brake Vans.

  • Train No. 02653 Chennai Egmore - Tiruchchirappalli Daily Superfast special train will leave Chennai Egmore at 23.15 hrs and reach Tiruchchirappalli 04.45 hrs, the next day. The first service from Chennai Egmore will be o­n 27th October, 2020 until further advice.Similarly, 
  • Train No. 02654 Tiruchchirappalli - Chennai Egmore Daily Special will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 22.45 hrs and reach Chennai Egmore at 04.15 hrs the next day. The first service from Tiruchchirappalli will be o­n 26th October, 2020 until further advice.
  • Stoppages: Mambalam, Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vridhachallam, Ariyalur, Lalgudi, Srirangam and Tiruchchirappalli Town.

Reservations for the above trains will open at 08.00 hrs tomorrow 24th October 2020

Special Trains between Hyderabad-Rameswaram & Hyderabad-Tiruchchirapalli
In order to clear extra rush of passengers, SCR will run 18 Special Trains between Hyderabad-Rameswaram & Hyderabad-Tiruchchirapalli as detailed below: -
1. Hyderabad - Rameswaram - Hyderabad Special Trains (08 Services):-
Train No. 07685 Hyderabad – Rameswaram special train will depart Hyderabad at 14:30 hrs o­n 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th June, 2020 (Fridays) and arrive Rameswaram at 00:15 hrs o­n Sundays.
In the return direction, Train No. 07686 Rameswaram - Hyderabad special train will depart Rameswaram at 05:00 hrs o­n 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th June, 2020 (Sundays) and arrive Hyderabad at 11:00 hrs o­n Mondays.
Enroute, these special trains will stop at Secunderabad, Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Guntur, Tenali, o­ngole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Vellore Cantt, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Tiruppadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Mayiladuturai, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Tiruchirapalli, Dindigul, Kodaikanal Rd, Madurai, Manamadurai, Paramakkudi, Ramanathapuram and Mandapam stations o­n both the directions.
2. Hyderabad – Tiruchirappalli – Hyderabad Special Trains (10 services):-
Train No. 07610 Hyderabad – Tiruchchirapalli special train will depart Hyderabad at 22.20 hrs o­n 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th June, 2020 (Mondays) and arrive Tiruchchirapalli at 19.15 hrs o­n Tuesdays.
In the return direction, Train No. 07609 Tiruchchirapalli – Hyderabad special train will depart Tiruchchirapalli at 06.05 hrs o­n 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th June & 1st July, 2020 (Wednesdays) and arrive Hyderabad at 03.40 hrs o­n Thursdays.
Enroute, these special trains will stop at Secunderabad, Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Piduguralla, Guntur, Tenali, o­ngole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Tirupati, Pakala, Chittoor, Katpadi, Vellore Cantt, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur and Srirangam stations in both the directions.
*All these special trains will have AC II Tier, AC III Tier and Sleeper Class Coaches.

Special Trains for Kumbabhishekam of Brahadeeswarar Temple at Thanjavur                     In view of Kumbabhishekam of Brahadeeswarar Temple at Thanjavur, the following special trains will be run to clear extra rush of pilgrims from 4th to 6th February 2020 as given below:
Special Trains between Tiruchchirappalli-Thanjavur-Tiruchchirappalli:
1.Train No.06841 Tiruchchirappalli-Thanjavur DEMU special train will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 12.10 hrs. and reach Thanjavur at 13.30 hrs. the same day from 4th  to 6th February 2020.
2.Train No.06842 Thanjavur-Tiruchchirappalli DEMU special train will leave Thanjavur at 14.00 hrs. and reach Tiruchchirappalli at 15.30 hrs. the same day from 4th  to 6th February 2020.
Special Trains between Thanjavur - Mayiladuthurai-Thanjavur:
3.Train No.06116 Thanjavur - Mayiladuthurai special train will leave Thanjavur at 09.45 hrs. and reach Mayiladuthurai at 12.00 hrs. the same day from 4th  to 6th February 2020.
4.Train No.06115 Mayiladuthurai-Thanjavur special train will leave Mayiladuthurai at 15.20 hrs. and reach Thanjavur at 17.30 hrs. the same day from 4th  to 6th February 2020.
Special Trains between Thanjavur – Tiruvarur - Thanjavur:
5.Train No.06828 Thanjavur-Tiruvarur DEMU special train will leave Thanjavur at 21.55 hrs. and reach Tiruvarur at 23.30 hrs. the same day from 4th  to 6th February 2020.
6.Train No.06813 Tiruvarur-Thanjavur DEMU special train will leave Tiruvarur at 04.15 hrs. and reach Thanjavur at 05.45 hrs. the same day from 5th  to 7th February 2020.
Special Trains between Karaikal – Thanjavur - Karaikal:
7.Train No.06815 Karaikal - Thanjavur DEMU special train will leave Karaikal at 09.30 hrs. and reach Thanjavur at 13.00 hrs. the same day from 4th  to 6th February 2020.
8.Train No.06812 Thanjavur - Karaikal DEMU special train will leave Thanjavur at 14.00 hrs. and reach Karaikal at 17.30 hrs. the same day from 4th  to 6th February 2020.
The above trains will stop at all the stations between Tiruchchirappalli-Thanjavur - Mayiladuthurai – Tiruvarur - Karaikal
Special arrangements for Kumbabhishekam of Brahadeeswarar Temple at Thanjavur
For the benefit of the Passengers, the following additional facilities have been provided at Thanjavur Railway Station.
ØAdditional Ticket Counters:In addition to2 PRS and 2 UTS counters, two additionalcounters at the Main entry booking officeand o­ne additional counter at the rear entry booking office have been provided.
ØFor Security purposes, additional band bust has been arranged 24x7.The services of fire brigade will also be available at Thanjavur station.
ØIn Co-ordination with Municipal Corporation, continuous supply of Drinking Water will be ensured at Thanjavur railway station.
ØElectricity and Sanitaryarrangements will be monitored round the clock.
ØStaff from St. John’s Ambulance have been deputed to assist Passengers in need of First Aid.
ØIn addition to Public Address System, the Information booth at ThanjavurRailway station will be fully equipped to meet the requirement of the Passengers.

Railways have decided to run additional special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Velankanni /Chennai/Tiruchchirappalli to clear the extra rush of passengers during Velankanni Festival. The details of services are as under:
 Velankanni-LTT- MGR Chennai Central Specials (2 Trips)
  • 06042 special train will leave Velankanni at 0830 hrs on Monday 09.09.2019 (1 trip) and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1815 hrs next day.
  • Halts: Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Mayiladurhurai, Chidambaram, Tiruppadirippuliyur, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore Cantt., Katpadi,Tiruttani, Renigunta,Razampet, Kadapa, Yerraguntla,Tadipatri, Gooty,Guntakal, Adoni, Raichur, Yadgir, Wadi, Kalaburagi, Solapur, Pune, Lonavala & Thane.
  • 06045 special train will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus  at 0045 hrs on Tuesday 11.09.2019 (1 trip) and arrive MGR Chennai Central at 0345 hrs next day.

  • 06040 special train will leave Velankanni at 2145 hrs on Sunday 08.09.2019 (1 trip) and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1145 hrs on third day.
  • Halts: Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Mayiladurhurai, Chidambaram, Tiruppadirippuliyur, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore Cantt., Katpadi,Tiruttani, Renigunta,Razampet, Kadapa, Yerraguntla,Tadipatri, Gooty,Guntakal, Adoni, Raichur, Yadgir, Wadi, Kalaburagi, Solapur, Pune, Lonavala & Kalyan.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, Inaugurated / Dedicated various projects over Southern Railway on 19th August, 2017 through video conferencing from Rail Bhawan, New Delhi in the presence of Shri. Mohammed Jamshed, Member (Traffic) and Shri. Ghan Shyam Singh, Member (Traction), Railway Board.
Shri Pon Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Shipping, Shri S.R. Vijayakumar, M.P., Shri A. Navaneethakrishnan, M.P. and Shri K.S. Ravichandran, M.L.A attended the function at Chennai Central Railway Station along with Shri P.K. Mishra, Additional General Manager, Southern Railway, Shri Naveen Gulati, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai Division and other Railway officials and staff.
At Madurai, Shri Anwar Rajhaa, M.P., Shri M.Udayakumar, M.P., attended the function along with Shri. Vashishta Johri, General Manager, Southern Railway and Ms. Neenu Itteyerah, Divisional Railway Manager, Madurai Division and other officials.
Similar functions were held at Salem Jn, Tiruchchirappalli Jn,Thiruvananthapuram Central, Ernakulam Jn and Kannur Railway stations in the presence of Hon’ble Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other elected representatives and officials of all the divisions of Southern Railway.
In his address through Video Conferencing, Thiru Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu expressed his happiness that Railways are now able to extend more facilities for the rail users of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He also expressed hope that Railways would continue to provide more such facilities in future and also expedite projects facing backlog. The minister reiterated that the budget outlay for TamilNadu (Rs.2287 crore) and Kerala (Rs.1206 crore) for the financial year 2017-18 is higher compared to the average outlay of last three years put together.
The following projects and passenger amenities were inaugurated/dedicated by Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways today (19.08.2017)
I. Chennai Central Railway Station
1) Inauguration of Additional Rest Room at New concourse at Chennai Central Station
The Pay & Use Toilet in new concourse of Chennai Central has been renovated at cost of Rs. 60 Lakhs with state-of-the art amenities. The concept wall in the frontage gives a pleasing ambience to the facility.
2) Dedication to the Nation – LED Lighting at Chennai Central Station
A total of 2388 nos. of conventional lights of various wattages have been replaced with 2402 nos. of energy efficient LED lights of various wattages. Facilitated at a cost of Rs.50 lakh, these energy efficient lighting will result in reduction in carbon emission of 262 MT per year, savings to the tune of 60 lakh units and Rs.60 lakh per month.
3) Inauguration of New Foot Over Bridge at Tiruvottiyur Station.
The new Foot Over Bridge will provide access to the travelling public from both East side and West side of the station yard to reach platform Nos. 1 & 2/3 at Tiruvottiyur station. The project has been commissioned at a cost of Rs. 1.44 lakh.
4) Inauguration of new Booking Office at Western side of Guindy Station.
The Reservation cum booking office is newly constructed on the Western side of the Guindy Railway Station facing GST Road. The building has been constructed in an area 195 sq.mtr at the cost of Rs. 48.75 lakhs. Equipped with 7 ticket counters, both UTS and PRS tickets can be booked here.
5) Inauguration of 2 Escalators at Chepauk station on PF No.1 & 2.
Two nos. of passenger escalators have been commissioned at Chepauk Railway station in place of old defective escalators to platform no.1 and platform no.2. The cost of the Project isRs. 1.36 Crore. Being elevated stations in MRTS section, these escalators facilitate the easy movement of passengers especially senior citizens.
6) Dedication to the Nation – Hi-Speed Wi-Fi facility at Chengalpattu Jn station
High speed Wi-Fi commissioned by RCIL in collaboration with Google will cover all the 6 platforms, circulating area and VIP lounge at Chengalpattu Jn. Each access point has the capacity to cater about 200 – 250 subscribers at a time.
7) Dedication to the Nation - Hi-speed Wi-Fi facility, Information Centre and CCTV Cameras at KatpadiJn station.
CCTV surveillance camera at Katpadi Railway station
Surveillance camera system has been installed at Katpadi with total 42 No of IP based digital cameras monitored centrally in the control room manned by RPF personnel. Installed at a cost of Rs.1.2 cr, these cameras will help check the crimes against passengers in the station premises.
Information Centre at Katpadi Railway Station
Information centre at Katpadi station brings all the different type of passenger information facilities under one roof through which data can be fed to all the information boards. It is setup with one number of PC based announcement and information display system and NTES terminal. The centre is provided at a cost of Rs. 33.6 lakh.
Wi-Fi system at Katpadi Railway Station
High speed Wi-Fi commissioned by RCIL in collaboration with Google covers all the 5 platforms of Katpadi station. Each access point has the capacity to cater about 200 – 250 subscribers at a time.
8) Dedication to the Nation -Food Plaza at Arakkonam Jn station.
To tickle the taste buds of customers with choicest delicacies, IRCTC has set up a Food Plaza at Arakkonam Jn in an area of 1752 sq.ft.
II. Tiruchchirappalli Junction
9) Dedication of APP BASED CAB SERVICES to the Nation
APP BASED CAB SERVICEShave been facilitated at Tiruchchirappalli first Entry in Unit II & III with anarea coverage of 210 sq.mt. with a total capacity of 20 cabs. Introduction of these services will give positive impact on Non Fare Revenue and will boost the image of Railways among travelling public.
10) Dedication of Parking Spaces at Tiruchchirappalli Junction
a) TPJ II Entry Premium Car Parking:
An Exclusive area for car parking with an area coverage of 855 sq.mt. at Tiruchchirappalli Junction II Entry with 50 cars parking capacity has been provided.
b) TPJ I Entry Premium Two Wheeler Parking:
A New Premium Two Wheeler Parking with a huge area coverage of 9000 sq.mt. at Tiruchchirappalli Junction I Entry, exclusively earmarked for Two Wheeler Parking with a total capacity of 5000 Two Wheelershas been facilitated.
c) TPJ I Entry Car Parking
The New Car Parking at Tiruchchirappalli I Entry with an area coverge of 895.5 sq.mt. with the total car parking capacity of 58 carshas been provided.
I. Dedication of Parking Spaces at Tiruchchirappalli Fort Railway Station
a) A new parking space with an area coverage of 1965 sq.mt.for exclusive purpose of parking of four wheelers with a total capacity of 100 cars has been provided. A new vast 9000 sq.mt. area for the purpose of parking of Two Wheelers and Four Wheelers with total capacity of 2500 Two Wheelers and 250 cars has also been facilitated.
II. Dedication of Parking Space at Mannargudi Railway Station
A New parking area for the purpose of parking of Two Wheelers and Four Wheelers with an area coverage of 4292 sq.mt. with total parking capacity of 1500 Two Wheelers and 125 Carshas been provided.
III. Dedication of Parking Space at Papanasam Railway Staion
A New Parking area for the purpose of parking of Two Wheelers and Four Wheelers with an area coverage of 2500 sq.mt.with total parking capacity of 750 Two Wheelers and 50 carshas been facilitated.
III.Madurai Junction Railway Station
11) Dedication of doubling between Manapparai-Kalpattichatram section (23km)
As part of Villupuram – Dindigul doubling project, doubling between Manapparai-Kalpattichatram section (23km) has been completed and commissioned for traffic.
12) Dedication of 5 Limited use Subways in lieu of LC gates
To ease traffic congestion and to minimise trespassing accidents, 5 Limited Use Subways were constructed in lieu of LC gates in Madurai Division. This will provide safer access to railway stations also.
13) Dedication of 3 Foot Over Bridges at Sholavandan, Ambaturai and Samayanallur stations
Foot Over Bridges constructed at Sholavandan, Ambaturai and Samayanallur stations will immensely benefit commuters as they can reach their Platforms and entry/exit points easily.
IV. Salem Junction Railway Station
14) Dedication of New VIP Lounge at Salem Jn
To receive and host the VIPs visiting Salem Junction, the new VIP Lounge is being located at PF No.1 near the main concourse area. This airconditioned VIP Lounge will serve the VIPs/Dignitaries arriving at/departing from Salem Junction, round the clock. This lounge has a seating capacity of 12 persons and has been provided with an attached toilet facility.
15) Dedication of extension of Foot Over Bridge to the second entry of Salem Junction 
The western side of the Salem Junction is being developed to decongest the junction premises, by shifting major functions there, since sufficient space is available on the other side. With a view to facilitate passengers reach the second entry, the present FOB that was so far connecting PF No. 1, 3/4, and 5 has been extended to the second entry of Salem Junction, at a cost of Rs.1 crore (approximately). This will assist development of second entry to Salem Junction.
16) Dedication ofFootover Bridge at Samalpatti Station : 
Samalpatti Station in the Jolarpet-Salem Section is one of the important stations in Salem Division, with stoppage of 5 express trains and 6 passenger trains. Earlier, passengers were using the trolley path at the end to reach PF No.2, from PF 1 and vice versa. With a view to assist passengers reach PF No.2 safely and comfortably, a new FOB has been constructed in Samalpatti, at a cost of Rs.1 crore (approximately).
V. Trivandrum Central Railway Station
17) Dedication of AC Paid waiting Rooms with Kudumbasree
AC Paid waiting room at Trivandrum Central with seating capacity of 48 passengers has been set up in association with Kudumbashree, an all women Self Help Group under Govt. of Kerala. At Kollam station also the facility is manned by Kudumbashree and the hall has a seating capacity of 40. A mini library, TV, washrooms and a kids play zone are additional features of these AC waiting hall. A reasonable entry fee of Rs.25/hour is charged
18) Dedication of FOB at Kochuveli
A Foot Over Bridge at Kochuveli would alleviate the difficulty of commuters as they can access Platforms as well as both entries of the station. The FOB, constructed at a cost Rs-2.5 crore, is the longest one in Kerala.
19) Dedication of 10 Concrete Benches at Kollam
Funded By shrisureshGopi, MP(RS) through MPLAD at a cost of Rs-1 Lakh, 10 concrete benches are provided at Kollam Jn.
VI. Ernakulam Junction Railway Station
20) Dedication of Double Line between Tiruvalla - Changansseri
Work on double line between Tiruvalla-Changanasseri section of 7.94 km length completed and Line commissioned on 28-03-17. Two additional Lines with full rake unloading facility and a platform with 26 coach capacity was also commissioned along with the work at Tiruvalla.
21) Inauguration of Passenger lifts at Chengannur 
Lifts are provided to assist the people with disability, the elderly, the women and the children among others. In addition, installation of Lifts at Railway Stations, Platforms will help to boost the image of Railways in public eye and Railways commitment to valuable Rail users. 
22) Inauguration of Passenger lifts at Ernakulam Jn
A lift has been commissioned at PF No.1 and at Ernakulam Jn, 2 lifts have been commissioned, at PF1 and PF2/3. Ernakulam and Chengannur lisfts are commissioned at estimated cost of 37 lakhs.
24) Dedication of Water Vending Machines at Tiruvananthapuram Division
Taking forward the Railways’ mission to provide clean drinking water at stations IRCTCis installing water vending machines at Aluva, Ernakulam Jn, Ernakulam Town. 
VII. Kannur Railway Station
25) Dedication of 2 Passenger Lifts at Kannur Railway station
To facilitate easy access to Platform No.1 and 2/3 at Kannur station, 2 passenger lifts have been installed. This will benefit differently-abled, sick and senior citizens.
