SCR Introduces Door Delivery of Medicines to Employees

South Central Railway has been at the forefront of rendering best possible medical care services to the employees during the prevailing situation due to COVID-19 pandemic in the country. As part of the continuous efforts to provide best services, SCR under the leadership of Shri. Gajanan Mallya, has initiated the supply of essential medicines to the staff and retired employees at their door steps. To begin with, this facility has been started across three Divisions of South-Central Railway i.e., Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Guntakal.
The facility can be availed by Serving Railway Employees & retired Employees who are living in and around Vijayawada and Guntakal. Similarly, the facility is available to all Retired Railway employees living in and around Hyderabad and who are being served by Central Railway Hospital Lallaguda, Health Unit Moula Ali and Kacheguda. This facility is particularly useful to persons suffering with chronic health problems like Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiac related diseases or any other chronic diseases etc.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway has stated that the initiative will save both the time and risks involved in commuting to the Railway Hospitals and will also enable serving / retired railway employees to adhere the strict rules of lockdown due to COVID-19.
Delivery of medicines is being done through the available volunteers / Scouts / Civil Defence personnel. Moreover, the persons are being issued medicines up to 2 months requirement so as to avoid frequent visits for regular checkups to the Hospitals. In addition, a facility of Tele medicine & consultation support through WhatsApp video has also been started for addressing minor ailments.
           To ensure that the facility is made available to all, the Mobile numbers of Doctors & Pharmacists of respective Health Units have been circulated through various means of communication.
Further, the procedure for availing these services is also kept simple. A patient has to o­nly submit their Name, UMID Card / Medical ID Card photo, Previous month Doctor’s prescription photo and Address with Landmark to the WhatsApp number of their respective health Units for getting their medicines door-delivered.

Railways Come Up with A Temporary Market for Sale of Essentials In Guntakal Town In The Wake Of Covid 19 Lockdown. Join hands with Municipal authorities to set up well - spread and safe facility.
Where there is a will, there is a way. The popular saying stands affirmed yet again, with Guntakal Division of South Central Railway going beyond the call of duty, to reach out to the common citizens.
The people of Guntakal town, which also is the Railway Divisional Headquarters, have been generally purchasing their daily essentials, mainly Vegetables and Fruits from the regular vegetable market. However, in the wake of the COVID 19 Corona virus, there was a need to explore options to overcome the congestion in the existing markets while duly maintaining adequate social distance. The Railway Officials of Guntakal Division of South Central Railway have come up with a unique solution address duly making use of the railway infrastructure for public use.
Led by Sri Alok Tiwari, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division have joined hands with the local Municipal administration to set up a temporary market in the huge Railway Ground in Guntakal Town for sale of Vegetables, Fruits and other essentials. The well spread and safe Market place was made ready in a day and commenced sales from today i.e. 26th March 2020. It will continue till the situation eases.
The arrangement at the market in railway grounds includes well laid out, numbered and demarcated spaces for setting up stalls.Ground markings of lines for maintaining social distance by the customers with no possibility of physical contact ensures total safety. Provision of Parking arrangements for the convenience of the customers, is an added incentive. With the municipal administration handling the market which functions from 06.00 am till 09.00 am every day, possibilities of black marketing, quoting of exorbitant rates and sale of sub-standard quality of produce sold is eliminated.
Railway officials of Guntakal Division are coordinating the arrangements jointly with the local Market Management Committee, Municipal authorities and the State Police Department. Appreciating the prompt action of Guntakal Division, Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR was all praise for the initiative and described this as an example of how Indian Railways go beyond their core activities to fulfill social responsibilities by extending a helping hand to the society in critical times. The National Transporter is fully involved in the fight against the spread of the COVID 19 Pandemic, he stressed and also advised all the Divisions to explore the possibilities of setting-up similar such temporary market facilities in other cities and towns, wherever feasible, duly working in association with the concerned State Govt authorities. He also advised people to remain healthy and safe by taking due precautions, so as to cut the dangerous chain of the spreading virus.

Strengthening Infrastructure Facilities to Improve Mobility with Guntakal – Kalluru Doubling & Electrification Works
The vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a “New India and New Railways” and the transformational policies adopted by Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Piyush Goyal to provide highest preference for strengthening the infrastructural facilities to improve the mobility of train operations accorded top priority to the Guntakal-Kalluru Doubling and Electrification project. The dream of Rayalaseema people to have better rail connectivity and more trains will be fulfilled with the completion of this project in the current financial year. Shri Rajen Gohain, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways dedicated the Electrification of Guntakal-Kalluru section and double line between Gulapalyamu – Khadarpet section to the Nation recently. The doubling and electrification of the balance stretches between Guntakal – Gulapalyamu & Khadarpet-Kalluru for a distance of 17.36 Kms are under fast progress and targeted to be completed in the current financial year i.e., 31st March, 2019.
The Guntakal – Kalluru Doubling & Electrification project is an important by-pass rail line for a distance of 41 Kms connecting the main line in which trains from Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad are run towards Bengaluru. So far the doubling and electrification works between Gulapalyamu-Khadarpet for a distance of 23 Kms have been completed and commissioned. The project was sanctioned in the year 2015-16 with an estimated cost of Rs. 357 Crore. The expenditure incurred o­n this project from 2016-17 to 2018-19 (till date) is Rs. 210 Crore.
The section between Guntakal and Kalluru is lying like bye-pass line to Guntakal from Bengaluru.It is a bottle neck presently with single line but is the most accessible shortest route to many important cities of southern states, from where railway lines going towards Hyderabad, Raichur, Bellary, Hubli, Goa and the National capital New Delhi. Many important trains linking Bangalore with other cities, including the Rajdhani Express (Delhi), Basava Express (Bagalkot), Hampi Express (Hubli), Gorakhpur Express and Garibrath Express (Delhi) and other non-daily trains operate o­n this route connecting from Bengaluru to North, East & Western parts of India via Guntakal station.

The freight traffic mainly contains iron ore, cement, steel, etc. There are number of cement factories in the neighboring districts of Kadapa, Kurnool, Bellary & Gulbarga which are feeding the cement traffic o­n this route. The Bellary and Anantapur districts are rich in iron ore reserves. Jindal Integrated Steel Plant is also situated in Bellary district.Iron ore and other bulk commodities such as cement, steel etc., are being moved o­n this route to North and South directions.

Potential and prospects:
  • The double line i.e Guntakal - Kalluru section is passing through drought affected Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. This double line which is connecting Guntakal, Dharmavaram and Bangalore without touching Gooty will enhance the passenger services and mobility of the people residing in the region, which acts as a catalyst for the socio-economic progress of the people.
  • Presently there are 15 pairs of passenger trains (including non- daily) are running in the section and doubling and electrification will provide facilities to increase the number of train services.
  • Doubling of this line is very crucial in order to run more number of goods trains in a seamless manner.

One AC Special Train from Chennai Central to Ahmedabad via., Guntakal

In order to clear extra rush of passengers, o­ne AC Special train will be run from Chennai Central to Ahmedabad via., Guntakal as detailed below:-

Train No. 06039 Chennai Central – Ahmedabad AC Special train will depart Chennai Central at 20:00 hrs on 5th November, 2016 (Saturday) arrive/depart Guntakal at 04:30/04:35 hrs on Sunday and arrive Ahmedabad at 05:45 hrs on the Monday. 

 Enroute, this AC Special train will also stop at Arakkonam, Renigunta, Koduru, Razampeta, Cuddapah, Yerraguntla, Tadipatri, Gooty, Adoni, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Yadgir, Wadi, Solapur, Pune, Panvel, Vasai Road, Boisar, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Anand and Nadiad stations.

SCR to Run 358 Krishna Pushkaram Special Trains for the Convenience of Pilgrims

South Central Railway will run 358 more Special trains between various destinations for the convenience of Pilgrims attending Krishna Pushkarams, as detailed below:-

1.Train No. 07755 / 07756 Secunderabad-Krishna Canal-Secunderabad (04 Services)
  • Train No. 07755 Secunderabad-Krishna Canal special train will depart Secunderabad at 23:55 hrs on 14th and 21st August, 2016 and arrive Krishna Canal at 06:00 hrs on the next day.
  • Train No. 07756 Krishna Canal-Secunderabad special train will depart Krishna Canal at 08:00 hrs on 15th & 22ndAugust, 2016 and arrive Secunderabad at 14:10 hrs on the same day.

Enroute the above special trains will stop at Cherlapalli, Jangaon, Kazipet, Warangal, Mahbubabad, Dornakal, Khammam, Rayanapadu and Vijayawada stations in both directions.
These trains consist of two AC II tier, three AC III tier, eleven Sleeper Class Coach, three General Second Class and two Second class luggage cum brake van coaches. 

2.Train No. 07944 / 07945 Guntakal – Krishna  - Guntakal (12 Services)
  • Train No. 07944 Guntakal - Krishna special train will depart Guntakal at 12:00 hrs on 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st& 23rd August, 2016 and arrive Krishna at 15:00 hrs on the same day.
  • Train No. 07945 Krishna - Guntakal special train will depart Krishna at 17:00 hrs on13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st& 23rd August, 2016 and arrive Guntakal at 20:15 hrs on the next day.

Enroute the above special trains will stop at Adoni, Kosigi, Mantralayam Road and Raichur stations in both directions.
These trains consist of eight General Second Class and two Second class luggage cum brake van coaches.

3.Train No. 07946 / 07947 Guntakal – Krishna Canal  - Guntakal (12 Services)
  • Train No. 07946 Guntakal – Krishna Canal special train will depart Guntakal at 21:30 hrs on 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st & 23rd August, 2016 and arrive Krishna Canal at 09:40 hrs o­n the next day.
  • Train No. 07947 Krishna Canal - Guntakal special train will depart Krishna Canal at 11:30 hrs on 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd & 24th August, 2016 and arrive Guntakal at 22:00 hrs on the same day.

Enroute the above special trains will stop at Dhone, Bethancherla, Nandyal, Diguvametta, Giddalur, Somidevipalli, Cumbum, Markapur Road, Donakonda, Kudichedu, Vinukonda, Santamagalur, Narsaraopet, Phirangipuram, Nallapudu, Guntur and Mangalagiri stations in both directions.
These trains consist of eight General Second Class and two Second class luggage cum brake van coaches.

4.Train No. 07954 / 07955 Tirupati – Krishna - Tirupati (22 Services)
  • Train No. 07954 Tirupati - Krishna special train will depart Tirupati at 23:00 hrs on11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 21st, 22nd& 23rd August, 2016 and arrive Krishna at 08:10 hrs on the next day.
  • Train No. 07955 Krishna - Tirupati special train will depart Krishna at 10:00 hrs on 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd& 24th August, 2016 and arrive Tirupati at 19:25 hrs on the next day.

  • Train No. 07956 Narsapur – Krishna Canal special train will depart Narsapur at 12:25 hrs on 12th to 23rd August, 2016 and arrive Krishna Canal at 16:15 hrs on the same day.
  • Train No. 07957 Krishna Canal - Narsapur special train will depart Krishna Canal at 16:55 hrs o­n 12th to 23rd August, 2016 and arrive Narsapur at 21:30 hrs on the same day.

Enroute the above special trains will stop at Palakollu, Viravasaram, Bhimavaram, Bhimavaram Town, Akividu, Kaikalur, Gudivada and Vijayawada stations in both directions.
These trains consist of two AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, ten Sleeper Class, six General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van coaches.

6.Train No. 07958 / 07959 Secunderabad – Vijayawada - Secunderabad (04 Services)
  • Train No. 07958 Secunderabad – Vijayawada special train will depart Secunderabad at 09:30 hrs on 14th & 21st August, 2016 and arrive Vijayawada at 16:30 hrs on the same day.
  • Train No. 07959 Vijayawada - Secunderabad special train will depart Vijayawada at 17:30 hrs o­n 14th & 21st August, 2016 and arrive Secunderabad at 23:30 hrs on the same day.

  • Train No. 07963 Krishna - Secunderabad special train will depart Krishna at 14:20 hrs from 12th to 23rd August, 2016 and arrive Secunderabad at 21:10 hrs on the same day.

Enroute the above special trains will stop at Begumpet, Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Tandur, Nawandgi, Seram, Malkhaid Road, Chittapur, Yadgir and Saidapur stations in both directions.
These trains consist of o­ne First AC, o­ne AC II tier, two AC III tier, eight Sleeper Class, four General Second Class and two Second class luggage cum brake van coaches.

Temporary Stoppage to various trains at Nalwar Station On the Eve of Sri Kori Siddeswar Jathara Mahotsava

With a view facilitate passengers / pilgrims attending Sri Kori Siddeswar Jathara Mahotsava at Nalwar station situated o­n Wadi - Guntakal section,  South Central Railway will provide one minute temporary stoppage at Nalwar Station to the following trains from 5th to 15th February, 2016:- 
  • Train No. 11013 Mumbai LTT–Coimbatore Express arrive/depart Nalwar at 10:15/10:16 hrs.
  • Train No. 11014 Coimbatore–Mumbai LTT Express arrive/depart Nalwar at 02:05/02:06 hrs.
  • Train No. 12163 Dadar Central–Chennai Egmore Express arrive/depart Nalwar at 07:24/07:25 hrs.
  • Train No. 12164 Chennai Egmore – Dadar Central Express arrive/depart Nalwar at 18:15/18: 16 hrs.

Due to heavy rains and water over flowing above danger level at Railway Bridge between Tada and Sullurpet stations o­n Gudur – Chennai section, bank slip between Yellakaru and Venkatagiri stations & Vendodu - Kondagunta stations and derailment between Nandalur-Mantapampalli o­n Guntakal Division,  the following trains are cancelled as detailed below:-
