BULK BOOKING

In case you require reservation in excess of the above limit of 6 passengers you may contact the controlling officer/Chief Reservation supervisor of the concerned reservation office for permission to book more number of passengers in a group. However, such booking of bulk accommodation is available only after 10.00 hrs on computerized reservation system subject to overall limit on trains as per extant rules and availability of accommodation . Here is step by step guide to help in bulk booking of berths 

Step I  Please submit a letter (in two copies) to authorized` officials giving details such as train number, date of journey and of berths and the list of passengers. 

Step II  Get the permission of the authorized officials 

Step III  Contact the bulk booking counter for purchase of tickets

Ministry of Railways Announces one of the World’s Largest Recruitment Drive
Ministry of Railways has announced o­ne of the world’s largest recruitment processes for 89409 posts in Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) & Level II Categories. o­nline applications have been invited for the Group C Level II posts like Assistant Loco Pilots, Technicians (Fitter, Crane Driver, Blacksmith, and Carpenter) and Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) posts like Track maintainer, Points man, Helper, Gateman, Porter. This recruitment drive is open for candidates who have passed Class Xth & ITI for Group C Level I posts & Class Xth & ITI or diploma in engineering or a graduation in engineering for Group C Level II posts like Assistant Loco Pilots, Technicians and aspire to join Indian Railways.
Shri Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway said that Ministry of Railways has published a notification no. CEN 01/2018 for Group C Level II Categories posts for the candidates in the age group of 18-28 years who have passed Class X and have an industrial training certificate (ITI) or diploma in engineering or a graduation in engineering.
The notification no. CEN 02/2018 about Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) posts for candidates in the age group of 18-31 years and who have passed Class X and have an industrial training certificate (ITI). The notifications have already been uploaded o­n RRB Websites. The link of the website is as follows:

CHANGE OF NAME OF PASSENGERS IN GROUP RESERVATIONS
Presently, a berth/seat reserved in the name of a person is to be used o­nly by that person, except in case of Government servant proceeding o­n duty, family members, students of a recognized educational institution, marriage party or NCC Cadets. In case of change of name in group bookings, the party has to make a request in writing at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train. Request for such change will be granted o­nly o­nce and will not be granted in excess of ten percent of the total strength of the group. Where calculation of 10% of the total strength is in decimal, the concept of rounding off will be applicable and any calculation equal to or more than 0.5 will be rounded off to the next higher number.

Bulk/Group Reservation at Reservation Counters to Open at 9:00 am each day


With a view to afford better convenience to passengers, the opening timing for making of Bulk/Group/Party reservation/booking at the reservation counters of Passenger Reservation System (PRS) has been made uniform all over Indian Railways with immediate effect.

Accordingly, opening of Bulk/Group/Party reservation/booking at the reservation counters of PRS will commence from 09.00 am i.e. one hour after the opening of Reservations.
