Southern Railway introduces e-Office A big step towards paperless office
Southern Railway Headquarters has taken a giant leap in complete digitization of its offices by embracing the e-Office system. e-Office culture is expected to promote transparency, work-efficiency and accountability of all Railwaymen.
The e-Office is a massive ‘go-green’ initiative and will usher in a new era of office work culture. Apart from saving the costs on account of material, this will also help in avoiding cumbersome process of handling files and delays.
RailTel, being the nodal agency for implementation of e-Office, has presented the e-Office with four packages- File Management System (eFile), Knowledge Management System (KMS), Collaboration & Messaging Services (CAMS), and Personnel Information Management System (PIMS).
Around 2250 users (officers and staff) have been inducted in the e-Office system in Southern Railway Headquarters.
As envisioned by the Hon’ble Minister for Railways and as part of the Government of India’s 100 days’ Action Programme, the e-Office module was inaugurated by Shri Rahul Jain, General Manager, Southern Railway on 26/07/2019 and the first e-File was approved by Shri P.K. Mishra, Additional General Manager & Zonal Incharge/e-Office/Southern Railway.
DRM office Thiruchchirapalli already started working on e office platform from 10thJune,2019. Other divisions will be added in the next phase.
Sri Sandeep Kumar General Manager, Railtel Principle Head of the Departments, were present.
