Southern Railway introduces e-Office A big step towards paperless office
Southern Railway Headquarters has taken a giant leap in complete digitization of its offices by embracing the e-Office system.  e-Office culture is expected to promote transparency, work-efficiency and accountability of all Railwaymen.
The e-Office is a massive ‘go-green’ initiative and will usher in a new era of office work culture.  Apart from saving the costs o­n account of material, this will also help in avoiding cumbersome process of handling files and delays.
RailTel, being the nodal agency for implementation of e-Office, has presented the e-Office with four packages- File Management System (eFile), Knowledge Management System (KMS), Collaboration & Messaging Services (CAMS), and Personnel Information Management System (PIMS). 
Around 2250 users (officers and staff) have been inducted in the e-Office system in Southern Railway Headquarters.
As envisioned by the Hon’ble Minister for Railways and as part of the Government of India’s 100 days’ Action Programme, the e-Office module was inaugurated by Shri Rahul Jain, General Manager, Southern Railway o­n 26/07/2019 and the first e-File was approved by Shri P.K. Mishra, Additional General Manager & Zonal Incharge/e-Office/Southern Railway.
DRM office Thiruchchirapalli already started working o­n e office platform from 10thJune,2019. Other divisions will be added in the next phase.
 Sri Sandeep Kumar General Manager, Railtel Principle Head of the Departments, were present.
