DWARKA - NAJAFGARH METRO CORRIDOR INAUGURATED FOR PASSENGER OPERATIONS
The Dwarka - Najafgarh Metro section of Delhi Metro’s Grey Line was flagged off today for passenger operations by Sh. Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Housing and Urban Affairs and Sh. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi in the presence of a host of eminent dignitaries.
Delhi’s Minister for Transport, Sh. Kailash Gahlot, Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from West Delhi, Sh. Parvesh Sahib Singh, MLA (Matiala), Sh. Gulab Singh and Japan’s Ambassador to India, His Excellency Sh. Kenji Hiramatsu were the other dignitaries present on the dais.
Appreciating the Delhi Metro for its rapid expansion, Sh. Puri said, ”the first section of Delhi Metro opened in 2002 and in 17 years, Delhi Metro has expanded to 377 kilometres. It is one of the most comprehensive and in terms of distance covered, one of the most successful urban transport systems in the world.”
Delhi’s Chief Minister, Sh. Arvind Kejriwal congratulated DMRC on the opening of the section and said, “Delhi Metro has played a vital role in the development of the city. As the Delhi Metro expands further, more people are likely to shift to Metro, thereby, reducing pollution caused by vehicles.”
Delhi’s Minister for Transport, Sh. Kailash Gahlot said, “It is a historic day as many colonies and villages in Najafgarh as well as Matiala will be benefitted by this connectivity. This section is being expanded up to Dhansa Bus Stand because of which many more villages till the border of Haryana will come under the Metro network.”
West Delhi’s Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Sh. Parvesh Sahib Singh commended the efforts made by DMRC towards pollution control and Swachh Bharat Mission and said that Delhi Metro was generating about one third of its energy needs through renewable power sources.
 Japan’s Ambassador to India, His Excellency, Sh. Kenji Hiramatsu said “Japan is proud of partnering with Delhi Metro both technically and financially. Japan is also supporting the other Metro projects in India based on the success of Delhi Metro.
”In his welcome address, DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr. Mangu Singh said, “All the three stations on this section have been rated as ‘platinum’ for their adherence to green building norms. Continuing with its efforts for energy conservation, DMRC has installed solar power plants on two elevated stations of this corridor.
”With the opening of this section, the Delhi Metro network has now become 377 kilometres long with 274 stations (including the Noida – Greater Noida Metro Corridor).

Due to upgradation work of  Delhi P.R.S. (Computerized Passenger Reservation System), the  PRS activities  will remain  temporarily closed for 2 hours 55 minutes from 11.45 pm o­n 22.07.18  to 2.40  a.m. o­n  23.07.18. Therefore, all the services of Delhi PRS, i.e. reservation activities, enquiry o­n 139, SMS for delayed trains and internet booking will not be available during the above period.

NEW DELHI BOUND IMPORTANT TRAINS FROM PURI & BHUBANESWAR TO RUN ON DIVERTED ROUTE BYPASSING KHARAGPUR
In view of the operational reasons, it has been decided to divert New Delhi bound important trains from Bhubaneswar & Puri via Hijli bypassing Kharagpur from 3rd week of April, 2018. All the diverted trains will have stoppages at Hijli instead of Kharagpur.
22811/22812 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express via Adra from Bhubaneswar w.e.f. 15th April, 2018 and from New Delhi w.e.f. 16th April, 2018 will run via Bhadrak-Hijli-Nimpura Yard-Gokulpur-Midnapur having stoppage at Hijli instead of Kharagpur.
  • This Rajdhani Express from Bhubaneswar will arrive at Hijli at 1555hrs and will leave at 1610hrs towards New Delhi. In the return direction, this train from New Delhi will arrive at Hijli at 1055hrs and will leave at 1110hrs towards Bhubaneswar.
  • 22823/22824 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express via Tatanagar from Bhubaneswar w.e.f. 16th April, 2018 and from New Delhi w.e.f. 14thApril, 2018 will run via Bhadrak-Hijli-Nimpura Yard—Kalaikunda-Tatanagar having stoppage at Hijli instead of Kharagpur.
  • This Rajdhani Express from Bhubaneswar will arrive at Hijli at 1350hrs and will leave at 1405hrs towards New Delhi. In the return direction, this train from New Delhi will arrive at Hijli at 1245hrs and will leave at 1300hrs towards Bhubaneswar.
  • 12801/12802 Puri-New Delhi-Puri Purusottam Express from both the directions w.e.f. 24th March, 2018 will run o­n diverted route via Bhadrak-Hijli-Nimpura Yard—Kalaikunda-Tatanagar having stoppage at Hijli instead of Kharagpur.
  • Purusottam Express from Puri will arrive at Hijli at 0338hrs and will leave at 0353hrs towards New Delhi. In the return direction, this train from New Delhi will arrive at Hijli at 2233hrs and will leave at 2248hrs towards Puri.
  • 12815/12816 Puri-New Delhi-Puri Nandankanan Express from both the directions w.e.f. 25th March, 2018 will run o­n diverted route via Bhadrak-Hijli-Nimpura Yard-Gokulpur-Midnapur having stoppage at Hijli instead of Kharagpur.
  • Nandankanan Express from Puri will arrive at Hijli at 1700hrs and will leave at 1715hrs towards New Delhi. In the return direction, this train from New Delhi will arrive at Hijli at 0510hrs and will leave at 0525hrs towards Puri.
  • 12875/12876 Puri-New Delhi-Puri Neelachal Express from both the directions w.e.f. 3rd August, 2018 will run o­n diverted route via Bhadrak-Hijli-Nimpura Yard—Kalaikunda-Tatanagar having stoppage at Hijli instead of Kharagpur.
  • Neelachal Express from Puri will arrive at Hijli at 1700hrs and will leave at 1715hrs towards New Delhi. In the return direction, this train from New Delhi will arrive at Hijli at 0955hrs and will leave at 1010hrs towards Puri.
However, from 1st August o­nwards, the timings of the above trains will be mentioned in the Passenger Reservation System having stoppage at Hijli instead of Kharagpur.

RAILWAY REVS UP THE TOURIST SEASON WITH THE MAGIC SPELL OF SPECIAL STEAM TRAINS BETWEEN DELHI AND REWARI MAIDEN RUN OF STEAM TRAIN TOMORROW i.e. 14.10.2017,STEAM TRAIN TO RUN BETWEEN DELHI CANTT. AND REWARI AND BACK o­n SECOND SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH DURING TOURIST SEASON FROM OCTOBER 2017 TO APRIL 2018
TOURIST PACKAGE ALSO INCLUDES VISIT TO HERITAGE STEAM SHED AT REWARI
To afford the pleasure of steam engine rides during the current tourist season in the northern region, the Indian Railways is currently running Steam Trains between Delhi Cantt. and Rewari and back on the 2nd Saturday of each month from October to April 2017. After a celebratory first run tomorrow o­n 14.10.2017, the next days of run of the Steam train between Delhi Cantt. and Rewari and back are scheduled o­n 28.10.2017, 25.11.2017, 23.12.2017, 27.01.2018, 24.02.2018, 24.03.2018 and 28.04.2018 respectively.The train hauled by steam locomotive will begin its journey from Delhi Cantonment at 10.30 AM and will reach reach at Rewari at 1 PM. In the return journey, it will start from Rewari at 4.15 PM and shall reach Delhi Cantonment at 6.15 PM.

NORTHERN RAILWAY TO HOLD PENSION ADALAT ON 15.12.2017
To address the grievances of retired railway officials, Northern Railway holds the Pension Adalat or Pensioners Grievances Tribunal each year. In the current year, the Pension Adalat shall be held during working houron 15.12.2017 for which last date of receiving the applications is 31.10.2017.
The Pension Adalat shall be held at the Zonal Headquarters Office at Baroda House, New Delhi and at all its’ Divisional Headquarters Offices i.e. Delhi, Firozpur, Ambala, Lucknow and Moradabad o­n the same day.
The Zonal Headquarters Office, Baroda House, New Delhi shall adjudicate o­n the grievances pertaining to employees retired from Headquarters Office of Northern Railway.  They may send their complaints to Dy.CPO/HQ/Northern Railway. Employees, retired from Divisional Office and offices under the control of DRM may send their complaints to Sr.DPO of the respective division,  retired from workshops may send their complaints to Sr.DPO of the division in whose territory the workshop is located.  The complaint application should, however, be addressed to Dy.CPO/HQ, Sr. DPO/Dy.CPO & SPO/Workshop as the cases may be.  The envelop carrying the complaint should be super-scribed  - PENSION ADALAT – 2017.
