RUNNING OF WEEKLY PARCEL EXPRESS TRAIN BETWEEN SHALIMAR AND THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

In view of growing demand for transportation of Parcel and essential commodities, SER has decided to revise the timings of the running of Weekly Time Tabled Parcel Express Train between Shalimar-Thiruvananthapuram-Shalimar. The train will run as per revised timings from Shalimar w.e.f 28.09.2020 and from Thiruvananthapuram w.e.f 25.09.2020.

As per revised timings, 00803 Shalimar-Thiruvananthapuram Parcel Express leaving Shalimar at 16.45 hrs every Monday will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 00.25 hrs every Thursday. In the return direction, 00804 Thiruvananthapuram-Shalimar Parcel Express leaving Thiruvananthapuram at 13.00 hrs every Friday will arrive Shalimar at 21.30 hrs every Sunday. The Parcel Express will stop at Mecheda, Panskura, Kharagpur and Balasore in SER jurisdiction.

Devlali-Muzaffarpur Kisan Rail to run Bi-weekly

Link Kisan Rail from Sangola-Manmad-Daund and further to Muzaffarpur

Central Railway has decided to increase the frequency of Devlali – Muzaffarpur Kisan Rail with effect from 25.8.2020 o­nwards. CR will also run Link Kisan Rail between Sangola and Manmad which will be attached/detached to Devlali-Muzaffarpur Kisan Rail at Manmad. The details are as under:

A.00107/00108 Devlali-Muzaffarpur-Devlali Kisan Rail (Bi-weekly)

Train No. 00107 Bi-Weekly Kisan Rail will depart Devlali at 18.00 hrs as at present o­n every Friday and Tuesday from 25.8.2020 to 25.9.2020 and reach Muzaffarpur Jn. at 04.45 hrs o­n Sunday and Thursday.

Train No. 00108 Bi-Weekly Kisan Rail will depart Muzaffarpur Jn at 08.00 hrs o­n every Sunday and Thursday from 27.8.2020 to 27.9.2020 and will arrive Devlali at 17.45 hrs Monday and Friday.

Halts: Nashik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Itarsi, Pipariya, Gadarwara, Narsingpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jn, Buxar and Danapur.

Composition:This train will have 10 parcel vans and o­ne luggage cum brake van.

B.00109/00110 Sangola-Manmad-Daund (Bi-weekly) Link parcel special train to run upto Muzaffarpur.

Train No. 00109 Bi-weekly link Kisan Rail will depart Sangola instead of Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus Kolhapur at 08.00 hrs o­n every Friday and Tuesday from 25.8.2020 to 25.9.2020 and reach Manmad at 18.30 hrs same day.

Train No. 00110 Bi-weekly link Kisan Rail will depart Manmad at 20.00 hrs o­n every Monday and Friday from 28.08.2020 to 28.09.2020 and arrive Daund at 00.20 hrs next day.

Halts: for 00109 - Pandharpur, Kurduwadi, Daund, Belvandi, Ahmednagar, Belapur and Kopergaon

for 00110 - Ahmednagar.

Composition:This link Kisan Rail will have 10 parcel vans (2 from Pune to be attached at Daund) and o­ne luggage cum brake van

WESTERN RAILWAY’S OKHA – GUWAHATI PARCEL SPECIAL TRAIN HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO RUN UPTO NEW GUWAHATI W.E.F 16TH AUGUST 2020

To keep the supply chain running, Western Railway is operating parcel special trains to various parts of the country. These parcel special trains carry essential commodities like food grains, milk products, milk, as well as medical materials, medicines and medical equipment. In continuation to this, Train No 00949/ 00950 Okha – Guwahati Parcel Special Train has been extended to run upto New Guwahati w.e.f. 16th August, 2020 &and the timings of WR’s three parcel special trains i.eBandra Terminus – Jammu Tawi, Okha – New Guwahati and Porbandar – Shalimar have been revised over jurisdiction of Western Rly w.e.f. 18th August, 2020.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, as per demand Train No 00949/ 00950 Okha – Guwahati Parcel Special Train is now running upto New Guwahati w.e.f 16th August, 2020. The departure timing of Train No 00949 too has been revised and the train is scheduled to leave Okha at 05.15 hrs& will reach New Guwahati at 20.00 hrs o­n its scheduled dates. Similarly, Train No 00950 is now scheduled to depart from New Guwahati at 20.00 hrs as per its scheduled date. Shri Thakur further added that w.e.f 18th August, 2020,Bandra Terminus – Jammu Tawi, Okha – New Guwahati and Porbandar – Shalimar will run with revised timings o­n their scheduled dates of run. Train No 00901 Bandra Terminus – Jammu Tawi parcel special train will depart from Bandra Terminus at 19.30 hrs and Train No 00913 Porbandar – Shalimar parcel special train will now depart from Porbandar at 06.00 hrs. There is no change in the return journey timings of the above trains.

Kolkata, June 13, 2020:
Eastern Railway is continuing running of freight trains o­n round the clock basis to maintain supply of essential commodities at different corners of the country since initiation of Nation-wide lock down.Freight trains carrying food grains, fertilizer, steel, cement, stone, petroleum products, coal etc are reaching at different areas to cater to the demand of consumables and other inputs.
Eastern Railway has run a total of 281 freight trains o­n 12/13.06.2020, the breakup of which is as follows:
ASH – 1 Rake
BALLAST – 3 Rakes
CEMENT – 22 Rakes
CLINKER -3 Rakes
CONTAINER- 21 Rakes
COAL & MINERAL-62 Rakes
EDIBLE OIL- 1 Rake
FERTILIZER – 6 Rakes
IRON & STEEL – 10 Rakes
MAIZE – 5 Rakes
POLPRODUCT- 3 Rakes
ONION -1 Rake
FOOD GRAIN – 5 Rakes
SUGAR-4 Rakes
STONE-21 Rakes
SAND – 1 Rake
SLAG – 2 Rakes
Besides, 110 Empty Rakes were dispatched to different freight operating points to facilitate loading of essential commodities.
Everywhere health & hygiene of field staff are well taken care of keeping in view the basic guidelines of social distancing. Proper sanitization is also being done wherever required.

Western Railway’s Parcel Special trains are continuously o­n the move, as per the timetable, during the lockdown period in the wake of COVID19. Western Railway is fullfilling the responsibility of transporting mostessential items like medical equipments, medicines, food grains etc across the nation, as it has always been fully committed to the needs of its customers. WR is also ensuring the supply of milk and milk products to different parts of the country through its milk special trains. In continuation to this, 5 moreparcel special trains with total 82 trips are scheduled to run between Bandra T- Ludhiana, Bandra T -Okha, Okha – Guwahati, Dewas – Jammu Tawi and Porbandar – Shalimar.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, details of the 5 parcel specials viz Bandra T- Ludhiana, Bandra T – Okha, Okha – Guwahati, Dewas – Jammu Tawi and Porbandar – Shalimar, which are scheduled to be run are as follows :-
Bandra Terminus – Ludhiana Parcel Special Train (26 trips)
Train No 00901 Bandra Terminus – Ludhiana parcel special train willdepart from Bandra Terminus at 20.00 hrs o­n 4th, 6th,8th,10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, 26th & 28thJune, 2020 and will reach Ludhiana at 03.00 hrs o­n the 3rd day. Similarly, Train No 00902 will leave Ludhiana at 23.30 hrs o­n 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd,24th, 26th, 28th& 30th June, 2020 and will arrive Bandra Terminus at 06.30 hrs o­n 3rd day. The train will halt at Vapi, Surat, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Mahesana, Falna, Beawar, Ajmer, Jaipur,Delhi and Ambala stations in both directions.
Bandra Terminus – Okha Parcel Special Train ( 26 trips)
Train No 00921 Bandra Terminus- Okha Parcel special train will leave from Bandra (T) at 21.30 hrs o­n 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, 26th & 28th June, 2020 and will reach Okha at 15.00 hrs the next day. Similarly, Train No 00920 Okha – Bandra (T) Parcel special will leave Okha at 13.30 hrs o­n 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, 26th & 28th June , 2020 & will arrive Bandra (T) at 5.55 hrs the next day. The train will halt at Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Viramgam, Rajkot and Jamnagar station in both directions.
Okha – Guwahati Parcel Special Train (12 trips)
Train No 00949 Okha – Guwahati parcel special train will leave Okha o­n 4th, 9th, 14th, 19th, 24th & 29th June 2020 at 07.15 hrs & will reach Guwahati o­n the third day at 17.00 hrs. Similarly, Train No 00950 Guwahati – Okha parcel special train will leave Guwahati at 16.00 hrs o­n 7th, 12th, 17th,22nd, 27thJune & 2nd July, 2020 & will reach Okha at 01.10 hrs o­n the fourth day. The train will halt at Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Chhayapuri, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bayana, Agra Fort, Tundla, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn, Patna, Muzaffarpur Jn, Katihar, New Bongaigaon and Changsari stations in both directions.
Porbandar – Shalimar Parcel Special Train (16 trips)
Train No 00913 Porbandar – Shalimar parcel special train will leave Porbandar at 8.00 hrs o­n 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 22nd, 25th& 28th June, 2020 & will reach Shalimar at 03.30 hrs o­n third day. Similarly, Train No 00914 Shalimar – Porbandar parcel special will leave Shalimar at 22.50 hrs o­n 6th, 10th, 14th, 18th, 22nd ,26th & 30th June, 2020 & will reach Porbandar at 18.25 hrs o­n third day. The train will halt at Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surendra Nagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Surat, Nandurbar, Bhusaval, Akola, Badnera, Nagpur, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda Jn, Rourkela, Chakaradharpur, Tata Nagar and Kharagpur Jn. stations in both directions.
Dewas – Jammu Tawi Parcel Special Train (2 trips)
Train No 00931 Dewas – Jammu Tawi parcel special train left Dewas as per its scheduled time at 20.00 hrs o­n 3rd June 2020 & will reach Jammu Tawi at 02.00 hrs o­n 5th June, 2020. In its return journey Train No 00932Jammu Tawi – Dewas parcel special train will leave Jammu Tawi at 20.00 hrs o­n 5thJune 2020 to reach Dewas at 21.30 hrs the next day. The train will halt at Nagda, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, New Delhi and Chandigarh in both directions.
Shri Bhakar said that in the financial year 2020-2021, upto 2nd June, 292 parcel special trains were run with a load of approx. 44 thousand tonnes, thereby generating earnings of 13.82 crore. Similarly, Container & Non container loading for the financial year 2020-2021 upto 2nd June, 2020 was 4832 rakes with revenue of Rs 1110.48 crore. In the month of April, 2020, total 2174 rakes of container & non container loading was carried out with earnings amounting to Rs 463.69 crore and in May 2020, total of 2482 rakes of container & non container loading was carried out with earnings amounting to Rs 601.44 crore. In the 2 days of June 2020, 177 rakes loading earned Rs 45.35 crore. Whereas, since 22nd March to 2ndJune, 2020, total 5294 rakes of goods trains have been used to supply essential commodities amounting to 10.35 million tonnes. 10,424 freight trains were interchanged with other railways, including 5250 trains handed over and 5174 trains taken over at different interchange points.302 Millennium Parcel rakes of Parcel Vans / Railway Milk Tankers (RMTs) in all have been sent to different parts of the country to cope with the demands of essential materials such as milk powder, liquid milk, medical supplies and other general consumer goods. He stated that the total loss of earnings over Western Railway inclusive of suburban & non - suburban sections, since March, 2020, has been Rs 1149.30 crore o­n account of lockdown. Inspite of this, resulting to the cancellation of tickets till now, Western Railway has ensured to return refund amount ofRs 302.66 crore. It's worth mentioning that in this refund amount, Mumbai division alone, has ensured refund of Rs 142.76 crore. Till now, 46.36 lakh passengers have cancelled their tickets over entire Western Railway & have received their refund amount accordingly.
SHRAMIK SPECIAL TRAINS o­n WR
Western Rly has operated 1215SHRAMIK SPLtrains from 2.5.2020 to 2.6.2020, which have carried 18.25 lakh passengers to their desired destinations. Out of these 1215 trains, Mumbai division has handled highest 706 trains, Ahmedabad division 256, Vadodara division 99, Bhavnagar division 30, Rajkot division 117 and Ratlam division 6 Shramik trains. o­n 2nd June, 2020, WR operated o­ne Shramik Special train from Indore in Madhya Pradesh to Barddhaman Jn in West Bengal.

Western Railway has scheduled to run two moreParcel Special trains with 2 trips eachtotransport essential items as well as medicinal supply to mitigate the effects of lockdown due to Covid 19, as per the requirements o­n this route. The parcel special trains will run between Palanpur – Salchapraand Dewas – Rajendra Nagar.

According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly,details of the additional parcel special trains to run o­n WR are as follows:-

Palanpur – Salchapra Parcel Special Train (2 trips)

Train No 00909 Palanpur – Salchapra parcel special train will leave Palanpur at 23.00 hrs o­n 29th May, 2020 and will reach Salchapra at 05.30 hrs o­n 1st June, 2020. Similarly, Train No 00910 Salchapra – Palanpur parcel special train will leave Salchapra at 22.00 hrs o­n 1st June, 2020 & will reach Palanpur at 06.20 hrs o­n4thJune, 2020. The train will halt at Marwar Jn., Ajmer, Phulera Jn., Jaipur, Yamuna Bridge Agra, Prayagraj Jn, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn., Patliputra, Sonpur, Katihar, New Jalpaiguri, New Bongaigaon, Changsari, New Guwahati, Lumding and Badarpur stations in both directions.

Dewas - Rajendra Nagar Parcel Special Train (2 Trips)

Train No 00975 Dewas – Rajendra Nagar parcel special train will depart from Dewas o­n 28th May, 2020 at 20.00 hrs and will reach Rajendra Nagar at 16.25 hrs the next day. Similarly, Train No 00976 Rajendra Nagar - Dewas parcel special train will leave Rajendra Nagar o­n 30thMay, 2020 at 18.00 hrs & will reach Dewas at 14.25 hrsthe next day. The train will halt at Bina, Katni, Prayagraj Chheoki and Pt Deen Dayal Uphadaya Jn in both directions. 

However, due to underutilization of some of the parcel special trains o­n certain routes, the same has now been cancelled. The Parcel trains which have been cancelled are Train No 00924 Bhuj – Dadar Journey Commencing On (JCO) 28th & 30th May, 2020; Train No 00925 Dadar – Bhuj JCO 29th May, 2020; Train No 00911 Mumbai Central – Firozpur JCO 29th & 31st May, 2020 and Train No 00912 Firozpur – Mumbai Central JCO 31st May & 2ndJune 2020.

In this lockdown period in wake of COVID-19,Western Railway is o­n the move and has successfully fulfilling the responsibility of transporting ‘Essential Supplies’ to various parts across the country. In this hour of need, essential commodities such as Medical Equipment, Medicines, Food Items, Amul Products, Milk, Face Masks, Sanitizers etc. are promptly transported through WR's time tabled COVID-19 Special Parcel Trains. In continuation to this, o­ne more parcel special train is scheduled by Western Rly to run between Dewas and New Delhi.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, one more parcel special train with 2 trips will be running between Dewas and New Delhi. Train No 00931 Dewas – New Delhi parcel special train will depart from Dewas o­n 20th May, 2020 at 20.00 hrs and reach New Delhi at 17.00 hrs the next day. Similarly, Train No 00932 New Delhi - Dewas parcel special train will leave New Delhi o­n 22ndMay, 2020 at 08.00 hrs to reach Dewas at 21.30 hrs o­n the same day. The train will halt at Nagda, Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur in both directions.
Shri Bhakar stated that, since 23rd March to 18th May 2020, commodities weighing approx 35500 tonnes have been transported by Western Rly through its 233 parcel special trains, which included agricultural produce, medicines, fish, milk etc. The earnings generated through this transportation, has been approx Rs 10.57 crore.Under this transportation, twenty nine milk special trains were run by Western Rly, with a load of more than 21,000 tonnes and 100% utilization of the wagons, generating revenue of more thanRs 3.65 crore. Similarly, 200 Covid-19 special parcel trains were also run to transport essential commodities, for which the revenue earned was approx Rs 6.14 crore. In addition to this, 4 indented rakes were also run with 100% utilization for earnings of approximately Rs. 78 lakh. Shri Bhakar stated that in addition to the parcel special trains, from 22nd March to 18th May, 2020, total 4089 rakes of goods trains also have been used to supply essential commodities amounting to 8.08 million tonnes. 8160 freight trains were interchanged with other railways, including 4123 trains handed over and 4037 trains taken over at different interchange points. 235 Millennium Parcel rakes of Parcel Vans / Railway Milk Tankers (RMTs) have been sent to different parts of the country to cope with the demands of essential materials such as milk powder, liquid milk, medical supplies and other general consumer goods.
Shri Bhakar informed that eight parcel special trains, including a milk rake left from WR for various parts of the country o­n 19th May, 2020, viz. He stated that the total loss of earnings over Western Railway inclusive of suburban & non - suburban sections, since March, 2020, has been Rs 926.45 crore o­n account of lockdown. Inspite of this, resulting to the cancellation of tickets till now, Western Railway has ensured to return refund amount ofRs 276.89 crore. It's worth mentioning that in this refund amount, Mumbai division alone, has ensured refund of Rs 133.15 crore. Till now, 42.09 lakh passengers have cancelled their tickets over entire Western Railway & have received their refund amount accordingly.

WESTERN RAILWAY TO RUN TWO MORE TRIPS OF o­nE PARCEL SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN OKHA AND TRIVANDRUM TO TRANSPORT ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES
In the wake of the lockdown to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus, Western Railway's staff from various departments is ensuring to continue to display grit and commitment through their exemplary services. This is so because, Western Railway has always been fully committed to its customers and has continued to ensure supply of essential commodities to different parts of the country. As an unique initiative, WR is running so manytimetabled Parcel special trains during lockdown period. In continuation to this,two more trips of o­ne parcel special train are scheduled to run between Okha and Trivandrum.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, 2 more trips of o­ne parcel special train is scheduled to run between Okha and Trivandrum. Train No 00933 Okha – Trivandrum parcel special train will leave Okha o­n 14th May, 2020 at 13.10 hrs to reach Trivandrum o­n 16th May, 2020 at 12.00 hrs. Similarly, Train No 00934 Trivandrum – Okha parcel special train will leave Trivandrum o­n 16th May, 2020 at 23.00 hrs to reach Okha o­n 18thMay, 2020 at 21.40 hrs. The train will halt at Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vasai Rd, Panvel, Roha, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Madgaon, Mangalore, Kannur, Calicut, Shoranur Jn, Thrisur, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam and Kollam stations in both directions.
Shri Bhakar stated that since 23rd March to 11thMay 2020, commodities weighing more than 30000 tonnes have been transported by Western Rly through its various parcel special trains, which included agricultural produce, medicines, fish, milk etc. The earnings generated through this transportation, has been more than Rs 9.10 crore. Under this transportation, twenty five milk special trains were run by Western Rly, with a load of above 18000 tonnes and 100% utilization of the wagons, generating revenue of more than Rs 3.13 crore. Similarly, 169 Covid-19 special parcel trains were also run to transport essential commodities, for which the revenue earned was approx Rs 5.18 crore. In addition to this, 4 indented rakes were also run with 100% utilization for earnings of approximately 78 lakh. Shri Bhakar stated that from 22nd March to 11th May, 2020, total 3554 rakes of goods trains have been used to supply essential commodities amounting to 6.81 million tonnes. 7274 freight trains were interchanged with other railways, including 3656 trains handed over and 3618 trains taken over at different interchange points. 200 Millennium Parcel rakes of Parcel Vans/Railway Milk Tankers (RMTs) have been sent to different parts of the country to cope with the demands of essential items such as milk powder, liquid milk, medical supplies and other general consumer goods.
Shri Bhakar informed that four parcel special trains left from WR for various parts of the country o­n 12th May, 2020 viz. Porbandar – Shalimar, Bhuj – Dadar andBandra Terminus – Ludhiana special trains. o­ne milk rake also ran from Palanpur to Hind Terminal.He stated that the total loss of earnings over Western Railway inclusive of suburban & non -suburban sections, since March, 2020, has been Rs 821.52 crore o­n account of lockdown. Inspite of this, due to cancellation of tickets till now, Western Railway has ensured to refund amount ofRs 239.20 crore. It's worth mentioning that in this refund amount, Mumbai division alone, has ensured refund of Rs 115.58 crore. Till now, 37.35 lakh passengers have cancelled their tickets over entire Western Railway & have received their refund amount accordingly.

Central Railway will run parcel train between Bhusaval and Changsari for sending essential commodities like medical, food, etc o­n 10.5.2020.In case full parcel train is loaded by a party at originating point the train can be run through enroute stations to reach parcels quickly to destination. If full parcel train load is offered by a party for any destination, CR will work proactively to provide the service. No passengers will be allowed to enter these trains. The details are as under:

Western Railway’s Parcel Special trains are o­n the move, as per the timetable, during the lockdown period in the wake of COVID19. Western Railway has taken the responsibility of transporting essential items like medical equipments, medicines food grains etc across the nation, as ithas always been fully committed to the needs of its customers. WR is also ensuring the supply of milk and milk products to different parts of the country through its milk special trains. In continuation to this, 4 more trips of 2 parcel special trains are scheduled to run between Kankariya – Cuttack and Palanpur – Sankrail Goods Terminal.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, two more parcel special trains with 2 trips each have been scheduled to run by Western Rly, o­ne between Kankaria in Ahmedabad &Cuttack in Orissa and another between Palanpur of Gujarat &Sankrail Goods Terminal of West Bengal. The details of these parcel special trains are as follows:-
●Kankaria – Cuttack parcel special train (2 trips)
Train No 00941 Kankaria – Cuttack parcel special train will leave Kankaria at 18.30 hrs o­n 8thMay 2020 to reach Cuttack at 02.30 hrs o­n 10th May 2020. Similarly, Train No 00942 Cuttack – Kankaria parcel special train will leave Cuttack at 19.30 hrs o­n 11th May 2020 to reach Kankaria at 03.15 hrs o­n 13thMay, 2020. The train will halt at Anand, Ratlam, Ujjain, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Bina, Katni Murwara, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur City and Talcher Rd stations in both directions.
●Palanpur – Sankrail Goods Terminal parcel special train ( 2 trips)
Train No 00945 Palanpur – Sankrail Goods Terminal special parcel train will leave Palanpur at 23.00 hrs o­n 9th May 2020 to reach Sankrail Goods Terminal o­n 11thMay 2020 at 08.35 hrs. Similarly, train No 00946 Sankrail Goods Terminal will leave Sankrail Goods terminal at 00.50 hrs o­n 13th May 2020 to reach Palanpur the next day at 10.45 hrs. The train will halt at Abu Road, Marwar Jn, Ajmer Jn, Phulera Jn, Jaipur, Yamuna Bridge, Prayagraj Jn, Pt Deen Dayal Upadyaya, Gaya, Gomoh Jn and Asansol stations in both directions.
Shri Bhakar stated that, during the lockdown period from 22nd March to 5th May, 2020, total 3091 rakes of goods trains have been used to supply essential commodities amounting to 6.77 million tonnes. 6381 freight trains were interchanged with other railways, including 3214 trains handed over and 3167 trains taken over at different interchange points.168Millennium Parcel rakes of Parcel Vans/Railway Milk Tankers (RMTs) have been sent to different parts of the country to cope with the demands of essential items such as milk powder, liquid milk , medical supplies and other general consumer goods. Since 23rdMarch to 5th May 2020, commodities weighing more than 26000 tonnes have been transported by Western Rly through its various parcel special trains, which included agricultural produce, medicines, fish, milk etc. The earnings generated through this transportation, has been approx Rs 7.76 crore. In this, twenty two milk special trains were run by Western Rly, with a load of approx 16000 tonnes and 100% utilization of the wagons, generating revenue of approx Rs 2.74 crore. Similarly, 140 Covid-19 special parcel trains were also run to transport essential commodities, for which the revenue earned was approx Rs 4.24 crore. In addition to this, 4 indented rakes were also run with 100% utilization for earnings of approximately 78 lakh.
Shri Bhakar informed that three parcel special trains left from WR for various parts of the country o­n 6th May, 2020 viz.Bandra Terminus – Ludhiana,Bhuj – Dadar and Porbandar - Shalimar parcel special trains. He stated that the total loss of earnings over Western Railway has been Rs 731.58 crore o­n account of lockdown (inclusive of suburban + non-suburban). Inspite of this, due to cancellation of tickets till now, Western Railway has ensured to refund amount of Rs 237.77 crore. It's also worth mentioning that in this refund amount, Mumbai division alone, has ensured refund of Rs 114.93 crore. Till now, 37.20 lakh passengers have cancelled their tickets over entire Western Railway & have received their refund amount accordingly. It is worth mentioning that upto 5th May, 2020 almost 1.5 lakh masks and approx 15000 liters of sanitizers were made inhouse at various divisions and workshops of WR during lockdown period.

Always being a pioneer by receiving many big achievements in various fields, Western Railway is also playing an important role in the service of the nation, during the toughest times of nation wide lockdown due to corona pandemic.Western Rly has o­nce again proved its dedication & determination towards the society,by ensuring suitable transportation of approximately 19 thousand tonnes of mostessential commodities to different parts of the country through its Parcel special trains, during the period of last 34 days from 23rd March to 25th April, 2020, resulting the earnings of about Rs 5.65 crore.

Similarly, 89 Covid-19 special parcel trains were also run during this period to transport essential commodities, for which the revenue earned was Rs 2.91 crore. In addition to this, 4 indented rakes carrying 1864 tonnes were also run with 100% utilization generating revenue of more than Rs 77.65 lakh. He said that seven parcel special trains left from WR for various parts of the country o­n 26thApril, 2020 viz. Porbandar – Shalimar, Bandra Terminus - Ludhiana, Okha – Bandra Terminus, Bandra Terminus – Okha, Bhuj – Dadar, Karambeli – New Guwahati and Palanpur – Salchapra. o­ne Railway Milk Rake also left from Palanpur to Hind Terminal. It's worth mentioning that during the lockdown period in the wake of COVID-19, despitechallenging situations with limited transport options, Western Railway has taken the responsibility of transporting essential items like medicines, medical equipments, food grains etc in small parcel sizes across the nation, as it has always been fully committed to the needs ofits customers. WR has also made available a dedicated Helpline No 9004490982 which is manned 24x7 byWR's commercial staff for any parcel booking related assistance. Shri Bhakar stated that during the lockdown period from 22nd March to 25thApril, 2020, total 2273 rakes of goods trains have been used by WR to supply essential commodities amounting to 4.92 million tonnes. 4775 freight trains were interchanged with other railways, including 2403 trains handed over and 2372 trains taken over at different interchange points.  109 Millennium Parcel rakes of Parcel Vans/Railway Milk Tankers (RMTs) have been sent to different parts of the country to supply as per the demands of essential items such as milk powder, liquid milk and other general consumer goods. The total losses over Western Railway up to 25th April, 2020 have been estimated as Rs 575.11 Cr (inclusive of suburban + non-suburban). Inspite of this, due to cancellation of tickets till now, Western Railway has ensured to refund Rs. 204.77 crore. It's worth mentioning that in this refund amount, Mumbai division itself, has ensured refund of Rs 99.79 crore. Till now, 32.34 lakh passengers have cancelled their tickets over entire Western Railway & have received their refund amount accordingly.
