Central Railway will operate Mega Block on its suburban sections for carrying out maintenance work on 26.6.2016:
KALYAN -THANE UP FAST LINE FROM 11.30 AM TO 3.30 PM
Up fast services leaving Kalyan from 11.22 am to 3.05 pm will be diverted on UP slow line between Kalyan and Thane stations halting at all stations and further re-diverted on Up fast line between Thane and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus halting at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Dadar and Byculla stations and will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule.
Dn fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 10.08 am to 2.42 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.
Short Termination of Passenger Train
- Train No. 50104 Ratnagiri – Dadar passenger will be terminated at Diva station and
- Train No. 50103 Dadar – Ratnagiri Passenger will leave from Diva station on 26.6.2016.
Dn Harbour line services to Vashi / Belapur /Panvel leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 11.21 am to 3.45 pm and Up Harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 9.52 am to 2.32 pm will remain suspended.
All Dn harbour line services to Bandra / Andheri leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 11.04 am to 3.49 pm and Up harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai leaving Bandra / Andheri from 10.44 am to 3.16 pm will remain suspended.
However, Special services will be run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No.8) during the block period.
Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Due to these blocks, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual. Passengers are requested not to take any risks while travelling. They are also requested to avoid travelling on foot board, roof top of locals and not to board extremely over crowded trains. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.

SUBURBAN SEASON TICKET HOLDERS ALLOWED TO TRAVEL IN LONG DISTANCE TRAINS
Central Railway has decided to earmark all sleeper class coaches only of Train Nos. 17412 Mahalaxmi Express, 17058 Devgiri Express and 22108 Latur- Mumbai Superfast Express as 2nd class unreserved coaches during day time between Kalyan and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai (in Up direction only) on experimental basis for a period of 3 months.
The monthly season ticket holders of Kalyan and Thane station are allowed to travel in sleeper class coaches of these 3 trains subject to -
1. Payment of differential fare as under-
(a) Second class season ticket holders of Kalyan and Thane have to pay Rs. 30/- per trip from Kalyan to CST and Thane to CST. Superfast charges will be levied separately wherever applicable.
(b) First class season ticket holders have to pay Rs. 20/- per trip from Kalyan to CST and Rs 10/- per trip from Thane to CST
2. To facilitate the commuters for payment of differential fare a special numbered coupons will be got printed in the booklets of 10 to 25 coupons. The sale of number of coupons restricted to maximum of 3000 per month for journey commencing from Kalyan and another 3000 per month for journey commencing from Thane. The sale of coupons will issued on priority basis i.e. for ladies, Senior Citizens and others as under-
(a) From 20th to 23rd of previous month to Ladies only. (In January on 26th, 27th and 28th)
(b) From 24th to 26th of previous month for left over coupons to only senior citizens above 70 years of age (In January on 29th and 30th)
(c) After 27th of previous month for general public for left over coupons.
3. The coupons will be printed along with other relevant information i.e.
(a) Date of Journey ....,
(b) Valid for the Month of February, 2016 only (similarly for March, 2016 & April, 2016 & so on)
(c) Valid with MST No. ......... only.
4. COUPONS REQUIRED TO BE VALIDATED BY COMMUTERS BEFORE COMMENCEMENT OF JOURNEY BY GETTING DATE STAMPED AT ORIGINATING STATION. Commuter found without coupons duly validated alongwith season ticket in the above trains will be treated as without ticket and charged with prescribed penalty charges plus unreserved second Mail/Express fare.
5. Stickers will be pasted in the sleeper class coaches of above mentioned trains for the information of reserved passengers about the travel facility provided to MST holders from Kalyan & Thane.
6. MST holders are to be ensured that no inconvenience is caused to reserved passengers to avoid complaints.
7. MST holders are advised to board in all sleeper class coaches equally or use vestibules and occupy lower berth @ only 4 passengers per seat (with reserved passengers)
8. No refund / return will be entertained by Railways once coupons ( Differential fare tickets) have been sold.

Up Slow and semi-fast line services leaving Kalyan from 10.47 am to 03.04 pm will be diverted on Up fast line between Kalyan and Thane stations.Up slow line services will not be available at Thakurli, Kopar, Diva, Mumbra and Kalva stations. Passengers of these stations are permitted to travel via Dombivali and Thane stations.

Mumbai: Even as railway officials claim to be operating maximum suburban trains to ease the hardships of daily commuters in Mumbai, the number of deaths and those injured after falling from trains has gone up in the last one decade, as per an RTI query.
A whopping 25,722 passengers fell from suburban trains (travelling on Western, Central and Harbour suburban services in Mumbai Commissionerate) in last 10 years, of whom 6,989 commuters died while 18,733 survived, said RTI activist Anis Khan quoting a reply received from Government Railway Police (GRP), Mumbai. Despite the authorities’ efforts to curb deaths on tracks, the city’s railway system continues to claim lives at a constant rate. As per data with the Government Railway Police (GRP), nine people have died on the railway tracks every day this year.
In 2005, a total of 494 commuters lost their lives after falling from running trains. This figure went up subsequently in the coming years and reached up to 901 in 2013, up 82 per cent as compared to the death toll in 2005, he said. However, 2014 saw a marginal decline with 797 deaths reported after falling from suburban trains, he said.
Kalyan, Kurla, Thane, Borivli, and Vasai are the railway stations, which have recorded the most fatalities near them. These people were found dead after falling from a train, committing suicide, or having been pushed by someone.
Mr Khan said the railway administration has “completely failed” to provide safe and comfortable journey to the people. “The basic reason why people are dying like animals is that railway officers have entirely failed to comprehend the hardships of the commuters…and the basic reason behind this (inability to comprehend the problems) is that officers never travel in local trains,” he said. Most of the passengers fall or slip from the running trains when they struggle to get into a coach and fail to enter it or get dashed against a pole near the railway tracks, he said. “Until and unless officers do not feel the pinch of travelling in overcrowded local trains, such deaths are not going to stop,” Mr Khan said.
As per the statistics provided under the RTI query, apart from 6,989 passengers who died after falling from trains, 22,289 passengers succumbed while crossing the tracks (trespassing). A railway officer, on condition of anonymity, said, “This is true that number of cases of falling of passengers has gone up, but it also includes those cases when many people lost their lives while performing stunts.” “But sensing the gravity of the cases, constant announcements are made not to board or alight from running trains,” he added.
Railway activist Sameer Zaveri, who was also a railway victim once, said overcrowding is the biggest problem at hand. “People buy tickets but still have to stand on footboards. There are no safety measures for them. Moreover the High Court has asked the railways to build fences near the tracks to prevent people from entering, but the railways don’t do anything,” he said.
Around 30 per cent of victims’ bodies have to be disposed of by the cops; the families approach much later or the bodies remain unclaimed,” said Rupali Ambure, deputy commissioner of police, GRP, Central Railway. She further added, “We have been creating awareness among commuters to not cross tracks, not travel on footboards, and to take precautions while travelling. We have also written to railways to close all unauthorised entry points that bring one to railway tracks,” said Ambure. 1,679 people were injured this year on the railway tracks.
Chennai groups drum home point to stop train hits in the City
Should you happen to come upon a band playing music at a railway station, don’t look around for cameras. A film crew hasn’t turned the station into a set: it’s a live show that the Government Railway Police hopes will create the awareness needed to put the brakes on train accidents.
Officers of the GRP hit upon the idea after a study they conducted on railway tracks in city and suburbs showed that at least 35 people died in such accidents on a single stretch, between Beach and Chengalpet, in a month.
Train hits accounted for many as 2,750 deaths across the state in a year. The study also helped the GRP officers identify 20 accident prone spots, including at Korukkupet, Perambur, Avadi, Ambattur and Mambalam, where the most deaths took place.
When distribution of fliers to spread awareness did not appear to have yielded any results, the officers tied up with bands who agreed to play small shows on railway platforms to draw train users together as groups.
“The bands penned songs that include safety tips and set them to some peppy music from popular film tracks to attract the attention of train passengers,” Egmore DSP V Ponramu said. “The lyric makes it clear that it is illegal to cross railway tracks by any means.”
The bands have pulled in crowds at Mambalam, Guindy, Egmore and Chennai Central, he said, with people taking a short break to hear them despite being in a hurry. “So I would think the message is getting across,” the DSP said.
The GRP have also identified places where commuters cross tracks and erected new walls to prevent them from doing so. “We have posted two policemen at each of these locations,” a senior GRP officer said. “They will work in two shifts of eight hours each .”
The efforts of the GRP officers seem to be paying off. Regular train users report that there has been a sharp decline in the number of people they see crossing railway tracks in the city.

A block will be taken on CST-bound fast line between Kalyan-Thane from 11.10am to 3.40pm. CR spokesperson said, "CST fast services which leave Kalyan between 11.22 am and 3.42 pm will be diverted on Up slow line between Kalyan and Thane stations."
Train No. 16345 Netravati Express whose scheduled departure time is 11.40am is re-scheduled to leave LTT at 3.50pm. Train No. 50104 Ratnagiri-Dadar passenger will be terminated at Diva station and Train No 50103 Dadar-Ratnagiri Passenger will leave from Diva station.
HARBOUR LINE
On Harbour line a block will be between Kurla-Vashi Up and Down line from 11 am to 3 pm. Special trains will be run on CST- Kurla and Vashi-Panvel section during the block period.
Harbour line Passengers are permitted to travel via Trans Harbour Line/ Main Line from 10am to 4pm.
WESTERN RAILWAY
On WESTERN RAILWAY, a block will be under taken between Matunga Road and Mumbai Central Local stations from 10.30am to 1.30pm on Up and down fast lines.

Central Railway will operate special night traffic blocks between Badlapur and Vangani for removal of off loaded structures on Up & Dn lines from 03.20 hrs to 04.00 hrs (40 minutes) from 5.8.2015 to 8.8.2015 (4 days).
There will be no repercussion on Suburban Trains due to this block.
DIVERSION OF MAIL/EXPRESS TRAINS:
Train Nos. 18519 Vishakhapatnam - Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express, 12702 Hyderabad - Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Hussainsagar Express and 11306 Solapur - Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Express will be diverted via Karjat-Panvel-Diva and will arrive 15 minutes behind schedule.

Central Railway will operate Mega Block on its suburban sections for carrying out maintenance work on 02.08.2015: -
MAIN LINE:
THANE - KALYAN DN FAST LINE FROM 10.30 AM TO 3.00 PM
Dn fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 9.37 am to 2.25 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts. Dn fast services beyond Thane will be diverted on Dn slow line between Thane and Kalyan stations halting at all stations and will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule.
Up fast line services leaving Thane station from 10.46 am to 3.28 pm will halt at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.
Dn Mail/Express trains leaving Thane from 11.21 am to 2.43 pm will be diverted on Dn slow line between Thane and Kalyan Stations.
Rescheduling of Express train:-
Train No. 16345 Dn Netravati Express scheduled departure 11.40 am is rescheduled to leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 2.30 pm.

VADALA ROAD-MAHIM UP AND DN HARBOUR LINES FROM 11.30 AM TO 3.30 PM
All DN harbour line services to Panvel / Belapur / Vashi leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 11.09 am to 3.45 pm and UP harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel / Belapur / Vashi from 10.08 am to 2.49 pm will remain suspended.
All DN Harbour line services to Bandra / Andheri leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 10.48 am to 3.33 pm and UP harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai leaving Andheri / Bandra from 10.43 am to 3.45 pm will remain suspended.
Special locals will be run between Panvel - Kurla from Kurla Platform No.8 during the block period.
Harbour line passengers for Bandra/ Andheri are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
As a result of this, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual. Passengers are requested not to take any risks while travelling. They are also requested to avoid travelling on foot board, roof top of locals and not to board extremely over crowded trains. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.

To clear extra rush of rail passengers, Railways have decided to extend the run of Special Train No. 02111/02112 Lok Manya Tilak T.-Lucknow Jn.- Lok Manya Tilak T. AC SuperfastWeekly Express (08 trips) as per the following programme:-
The 02111 Lok Manya Tilak T.-Lucknow Jn. AC Superfast Weekly Express Special train will depart from Lok Manya Tilak T. on (Saturday) 01.08.2015 & 22.08.2015(04 Trips) at 02.20 p.m. to reach Lucknow. at 01.35 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 02112 Lucknow Jn.- Lok Manya Tilak T. AC Superfast Weekly Express Special train will depart from Lucknow on (Sunday) 02.08.2015 & 23.08.2015(04 Trips) at 04.20 p.m. to reach Lok Manya Tilak T. at 05.30 p.m. the next day.
Comprising of one AC First Class, three AC II Tier, 10 AC III Tier and one AC Pantry Car, the 02111/02112 Lok Manya Tilak T.-Lucknow Jn.- Lok Manya Tilak T. AC Superfast Weekly Express Special train will stop at Thane, Kalyan, Nasik Road, Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Habeebganj, Jhansi, Orai and Kanpur stations enroute in both the directions.
Tickets for these special trains will be available through PRS/ Internet with immediate effect.

Mumbai: Nearly 75 lakh commuters who use Mumbai’s local trains each day were badly hit as heavy overnight rain in Mumbai and its suburbs threw rail services out of gear.
Commuters reported water logging at many places such as Kurla, Tilak Nagar, Chembur, Vidya Vihar and Matunga train services were suspended on Central Railway’s main line between Mumbai CST and Thane, and between Mumbai CST and Mankhurd on the harbour line.
On the Western Railway, the overflowing Dharawi Nallah resulted in water logging at Matunga Road station, suspending suburban services between Andheri and Churchgate.
“Long distance trains are going only up to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and not to Mumbai CST and Dadar,” tweeted Narendra Patil, Chief Public Relations Officer Central Railway.
Most offices reported thin attendance with people staying home. The Railways issued an advisory that commuters travel only in case of emergency. Meanwhile, a high tide hit the city at 2 p.m.
Cancellations galore
Many long distance trains arriving/departing Mumbai were short terminated / cancelled/ re-scheduled.
Trains whose journey commenced on Friday, such as the Deccan Express, Mumbai-Pune inter-city express, Mumbai-Pune Indrayani express, Pune-Solapur inter-city express, Solapur-Pune inter-city express, Pune-Mumbai Indrayani express, Dadar-Madgaon Janshatabdi express, Mumbai-Hazur Sahib Nanded Tapovan express and the Mumbai-Bhusaval passenger were cancelled.
Trains cancelled on Saturday, June 20 are the Madgaon-Dadar Janshatabdi express,Hazur Sahib Nanded-Mumbai Tapovan express and the Bhusaval-Mumbai passenger.
The Pune Mumbai Sinhagad Express was short terminated at Kalyan and returned to Pune via Panvel. Others that were short-terminated include Pragati Exp at Panvel, Manmad-Mumbai Panchvati Exp at Kasara; Manmad- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at Nasik Road; Sewagram Express at Igatpuri and Sahyadri Exp at Chinchwad near Pune. The prestigious Deccan Queen was short-terminated at Lonavala.

CIDCO plans to extend proposed Mumbai Metro service to Kalyan, Ulhasnagar
Mumbai: CIDCO plans to expand the proposed Belapur-Khandeshwar metro service up to Kalyan and Ulhasnagar to improve connectivity between these suburbs and Navi Mumbai.
“We are on track to complete Phase I of the first 23.4-km CBD Belapur-to-Khandeshwar metro project. We now plan to extend the line to Kalyan and Ulhasnagar to improve the connectivity between these three suburbs,” CIDCO Chairman Pramod Hindurao told reporters in Navi Mumbai on Monday.
CIDCO is developing the metro project in three stages, comprising the 11.1-km Belapur-Pendhar section, the 8.35-km Khandeshwar-Taloja section and the 2-km Taloja-Pendhar interconnection corridor.
The construction work on the first phase of the line is expected to be completed by 2016, Hindu rao said.
“The work on the first phase will be completed by 2016. Out of the Rs.2,800 crore approved for the project, works worth Rs.2,200 crore have already been completed. The remaining Rs.500 crore worth of works will be soon completed,” he said.
The Belapur-Pendhar corridor missed the original deadline of 2014 as CIDCO decided to increase the width of the coaches so as to align with Mumbai Metro. For this change in plan, CIDCO gave time to its rolling stock vendor Ansaldo to rework the coaches, from the earlier planned width of 2.9 meters to 3.2 meters.
