Extension of Run of Fully Reserved Diva – Ratnagiri Passenger Special and Diva- Sawantwadi Road Express Special Trains

Railways have decided to extend the run of following Fully Reserved Passenger Special and Express special trains o­n normal fare upto 31.10.2021

01503 Diva – Ratnagiri Daily Passenger special 

01504 Ratnagiri- Diva Daily Passenger special 

01505 Diva – Sawantwadi Road Daily Express special 

01506 Sawantwadi Road - Diva Daily Express special 

The extended trips of above trains will run o­n existing composition, timings and halts.

Reservation: Bookings for the extended trips of above fully reserved special trains o­n normal fare will be opened o­n 26.9.2021 at all computerised reservation centres and o­n website www.irctc.co.in

Central Railway to Run 40 Additional Ganapati Festival Specials

Central Railway will run following 40 additional Ganapati Festival specials to cater to the extra rush of passengers towards Konkan area.  This is in addition to 72 festival specials already announced to run during Ganapati festival 2021. The details are as under:

1. Mumbai-Sawantwadi Road special (2 services)

  • 01235 special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai at 13.10 hrs o­n 7.9.2021 and arrive Sawantwadi Road at 02.00 hrs next day.
  • 01236 special will leave Sawantwadi Road at 02.30 hrs o­n 10.9.2021 and arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai at 14.00 hrs same day.
  • Halts: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal

CR to run 72 Ganapati Festival Special trains

Central Railway will run 72 special trains between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus / Panvel and Sawantwadi Road / Ratnagiri to clear the extra rush of passengers during Ganpati Festival 2021. The details are as under:

1. CSMT-Sawantwadi Road Daily Special (36 trips)

01227 special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 00.20 hrs daily from 05.9.2021 to 22.9.2021 and arrive Sawantwadi Road at 14.00 hrs same day.

01228 special will leave Sawantwadi Road at 14.40 hrs daily from 05.9.2021 to 22.9.2021 and arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 04.35 hrs next day.

Halts: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chilpun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Nandgaon Road, Sindhudurg and Kudal.

2. CSMT-Ratnagiri Bi-weekly Special (10 trips)

01229 bi-weekly special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus every Monday and Friday at 13.10 hrs from 06.9.2021 to 20.9.2021 and arrive Ratnagiri at 22.35 hrs same day.

01230 bi-weekly special will leave Ratnagiri every Sunday and Thursday at 23.30 hrs from 09.9.2021 to 23.9.2021 and arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 08.20 hrs next day.

Halts: Dadar, Thane(only for 01229), Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chilpun, Sawarda, Aravali Road and Sangameshwar Road,

3. Panvel-Sawantwadi Road Tri-weekly Special (16 trips)

01231 tri-weekly special will leave Panvel every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 08.00 hrs from 07.9.2021 to 22.9.2021 and arrive Sawantwadi Road at 20.00 hrs same day.

01232 tri-weekly special will leave Sawantwadi Road every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 20.45 hrs from 07.9.2021 to 22.9.2021 and arrive Panvel at 07.10 hrs next day.

Central Railway has decided to run 6 more special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Ratnagiri and augment Dadar – Sawantwadi Tutari Express by 3 Additional Sleeper Class Coaches to clear the extra rush of passengers during Ganpati Festival. The details are as under -
(A) Lokmanya Tilat Terminus – Ratnagiri specials (6)
01227 Special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 20.50 hrs on 30.8.2019, 31.8.2019 and 1.9.2019 and arrive Ratnagiri at 06.40 hrs next day.
01228 Special will leave Ratnagiri at 08.00 hrs o­n 31.8.2019, 1.9.2019 and 2.9.2019 and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 16.25 hrs same day.
 Halts: Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Aravali Road and Sangameshwar Road
Composition: o­ne AC-2 Tier, Three AC-3 Tier, 14 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class.
RESERVATION:Bookings for special trains 01227/01228 o­n special charges will open at all PRS centres and o­n website www.irctc.co.in from 30.08.2019.General Second Class in these special trains will run as unreserved coaches and tickets can be booked through UTS system.
(B) Augmentation of Dadar – Sawantwadi Tutari Express by 3 Additional Sleeper Class Coaches
Central Railway has decided to augment Train No. 11003 / 11004 Dadar – Sawantwadi – Dadar Tutari Express by 3 more Sleeper class coaches with immediate effect upto 10.9.2019 to clear the rush of passengers during Ganpati Festival.
Wait listed passengers of Dadar – Sawantwadi Tutari Express are requested to check the reservation status before commencement of journey.

  • Train No. 00504 / 00503 Ratnagiri – Panvel – Ratnagiri Jansadharan Special :
  • Train No. 00504 Ratnagiri – Panvel Jansadharan Special will leave from Ratnagiri at 13:00 Hrs on Sunday (22/10/2017). Train will reach Panvel at 19:50 Hrs on same day.
  • Train No. 00503 Panvel – Ratnagiri Jansadharan Special will leave from Panvel at 20:20 Hrs on Sunday (22/10/2017). Train will reach Ratnagiri at 03:00 Hrs on next day.

Running of "Science Express" Exhibition Special train over Konkan Railway

Ministry  of  Railways  has decided to run  "Science  Express" ( an  exhibition  special train) in  favour   of Ministry  of Science and Techonology over Konkan Railway.
Science Express is an innovative mobile science exhibition of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India, mounted on a 16 coach AC train. With the objective of arousing interest of the young people in the field of science and technology, the exhibition on wheels – Science Express, was launched  on October 30, 2007. It is a mega outreach programme of DST, Govt. of India and is being managed by Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC).
The exhibition will be opened at Madgaon station from 11/07/2017 to 13/07/2017 and at Ratnagiri station from 14/07/2017 to 17/07/2017. Exhibition Timing will be 10:00 hrs to 17:00 Hrs.
Konkan Railway appealed to all to avail the benefit from this service.

Central Railway will operate Mega Block on its suburban sections for carrying out maintenance work on 29.1.2017.
MAIN LINE:
MULUND-MATUNGA UP FAST LINE FROM 11.20 AM TO 04.20 PM
All UP fast line services leaving Thane from 10.59 am to 04.20 pm will be diverted on Up slow line between Mulund and Parel stations halting at all stations up to Parel and further re-diverted on Up fast line and will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule.

Dn fast line services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from 10.08 am to 2.42 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

All slow line services leaving/arriving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus between 11.00 am and 6.00 pm will arrive destination 10 minutes behind schedule.

All Mail / Express trains arriving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus will be diverted on Up slow line between Mulund and Matunga stations and will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule during the block period.

50103 Dadar – Ratnagiri Passenger will depart from Diva Jn and

50104 Ratnagiri – Dadar Passenger will be terminated at Diva Jn.

Special suburban service will be run from Dadar to Diva for passengers of 50103 which will depart from Dadar at 03.40 pm, reach Thane at 04.06 pm and arrive Diva at 04.13 pm.

HARBOUR LINE:

CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI TERMINUS – CHUNABHATTI / MAHIM DN HARBOUR LINE FROM 11.40 AM TO 4.40 PM &
CHUNABHATTI / MAHIM – CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI TERMINUS UP HARBOUR LINE FROM 11.10 AM TO 4.10 PM
Dn Harbour line services to Vashi / Belapur /Panvel leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai from 11.21 am to 4.39 pm and Dn Harbour line services to Bandra/Andheri Leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from 10.38 am to 4.43 pm will remain suspended.

Up Harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 9.52 am to 3.26 pm and Up Harbour line services leaving Bandra/Andheri from 10.44 am to 4.13 pm will remain suspended.

However, Special services will be run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No.8) during the block period.

Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm during block period.
Due to these blocks, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual. Passengers are requested not to take any risks while travelling. They are also requested to avoid travelling on foot board, roof top of locals and not to board extremely over crowded trains. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.

38 MORE SPECIALS TRAINS FOR GANPATI FESTIVAL - Bookings open from 22.8.2016
Central Railway has decided to run 38 more special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Ratnagiri, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Karmali and Karmali – Panvel to clear the extra rush of passengers during Ganpati Festival. Central Railway has already announced to run 142 specials during Ganpati Festival and these 38 specials will run in addition to the earlier announced. Thus Central Railway will run 180 special trains during Ganpati Festival. The details are as under -

(A) 01091/01092 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Ratnagiri– Lokmanya Tilak Terminus specials

(5 days a week specials i.e. except Monday and Thursday)  (30)

Train No. 01091 Special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 00.55 hrs o­n 5 days a week (except Monday and Thursday) from 2.9.2016 to 21.9.2016 (15 trips) and arrive Ratnagiri at 08.30 hrs same day.

Train No. 01092 Special will leave Ratnagiri at 15.45 hrs o­n 5 days a week (except Monday and Thursday) from 2.9.2016 to 21.9.2016 (15 trips) and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 23.30 hrs same day.

Indian Railways calls for Bids from Power producers to supply 1010 MW of Electricity over 3 years

Trying to take advantage of its position as the largest consumer of power in the country, Indian Railways has stepped up efforts to reduce electricity costs

New Delhi: At a time when cash-strapped state electricity boards (SEBs) are averse to buying power, Indian Railways has emerged as a potential saviour for idling power projects.

Railways, the state-owned transporter, has stepped up its efforts to reduce electricity costs and has called for bids from power producers to supply 1,010 MW of electricity over three years.

Indian Railways has floated the tender through Railway Energy Management Co. Ltd for sourcing electricity in the eastern region (350 MW), west (440 MW) and north (220 MW). This is in addition to 500 MW it plans to buy from the Ratnagiri Gas and Power Pvt. Ltd’s Dabhol plant in Maharashtra.

“The electricity is to be supplied for three years from March 2017 to March 2020,” said a person aware of the development. The person didn’t want to be named.

The railways is trying to take advantage of its position as the largest consumer of power in the country to bring down its electricity costs. The national transporter needs about 12 billion units of electricity a year, with consumption growing at an average 5% per year. Its power bill is estimated at Rs.11,000 crore for the current fiscal year.

By calling for competitive bids, the railways expects to benefit from lower tariffs. The transporter is seeking to reduce its electricity cost to less thanRs.5 per unit from the present average of around Rs.7 per unit.

Queries emailed to an Indian Railways spokesperson remained unanswered till press time.

Cash-strapped SEBs have been unwilling to procure electricity, given the low tariffs they earn for power supply, slow progress in reducing losses and higher power purchase costs. SEBs are laden with debt of Rs.3.04 trillion and accumulated losses of Rs.2.52 trillion.

“Progress w.r.t. (with reference to) tie-up of new long term PPAs (power purchase agreements) by state owned distribution companies continues to remain slow with sizeable generation capacity having no long-term PPAs; timelines for implementation of tariff compensation for the affected thermal IPPs (independent power producers) remain uncertain,” rating agency ICRA Ltd wrote in a 7 July report.

“In Icra’s view, the financial position of state-owned distribution utilities in many states continues to remain weak, with large subsidy dependence, and limited progress in loss reduction against the regulatory targets in some states and high debt levels,” the report said.

Indian Railways plans to buy electricity from the Dabhol plant, offering a lifeline to the 1,967 megawatt (MW) power project now owned by Ratnagiri Gas and Power Pvt. Ltd, RailNews reported in the recent past.

The national transporter plans to reduce electricity bills by nearly one-third by seeking competitive bids from power producers, sourcing from electricity exchanges and reaching bilateral arrangements. This plan was articulated in this year’s railway budget.

“Although a bulk consumer, railways pays extremely high charges for traction power,” railway minister Suresh Prabhu said in his budget speech. “It is proposed to procure power through the bidding process at economical tariff from generating companies, power exchanges and bilateral arrangements. This initiative is likely to result in substantial savings of at least Rs.3,000 crore in next few years.”
