New Doubling Works Have Been Sanctioned in the Current Budget which Includes:

1.Doubling of Dharmavaram-Pakala-Katpadi for a distance of 290 km with an estimated cost of Rs 2,900 crore.

2.Doubling of Guntur -Bibinagar for a distance of 248 km with an estimated cost of 2,480 crore.

3.Doubling of Akola -Dhone via Purna,Mudkhed,Secunderabad,Mahabubnagar(Excluding Sections between purna-Mudkhed & Bolaram-Mahbubnagar which are Already in Progress) for a distance of 626 km with an estimated cost of 6,260 crore

SCR to run 20 Sabarimalai Special Trains between Various Destinations

South Central Railway will run 20 special trains from Hyderabad, Kacheguda, Machilipatnam, Kakinada Town to Kollam and back to clear the extra rush of passengers and pilgrims heading towards Sabarimalai as per the details given below.

1) Train No. 07166/07167 Hyderabad – Kollam – Hyderabad Sabari Specials (via. Kazipet, Vijayawada, Gudur, Renigunta and Melpakkam) (06 services):

Train No. 07166 Hyderabad – Kollam special train will depart Hyderabad at 15:55 hrs, arrive/depart Secunderabad at 16.25/16.35 hrs o­n 13th, 17th November & 24th December, 2019 and arrive Kollam at 23.55 hrs o­n the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 07167 Kollam – Hyderabad special train will depart Kollam at 03.00 hrs o­n 15th, 19th November & 26th December, 2019, arrive/depart Secunderabad at 10.00/10.10 hrs o­n the next day and arrive Hyderabad at 10.45 hrs.

In the return direction, Train No. 07136 Kollam – Hyderabad special train will depart Kollam at 03.00 hrs o­n 22nd December, 2019, arrive/depart Secunderabad at 09.55/10.05 hrs and arrive Hyderabad at 10.45 hrs o­n the next day.

Chennai Central -Coimbatore Shatabdi Express Stoppage Details -Southern Railway

EXPERIMENTAL STOPPAGE AT KATPADI JUNCTION FOR CHENNAI-COIMBATORE SHATABDI EXPRESS

Train No.12243/12244 Chennai Central – Coimbatore – Chennai Central Shatabdi Express trains will be provided stoppage at Katpadi Junction Railway Station on experimental basis for six months from today i.e., 28th February, 2018. With this, the service will have 5 stoppages, viz., Katpadi, Jolarpet, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur between Chennai and Coimbatore. The stoppage at Katpadi Junction will benefit people of Vellore district and large sections of business class travellers.

The experimental stoppage at Katpadi was flagged off by Dr.M.Thambi Durai, Hon’ble Dy.Speaker, Lok Sabha, at Katpadi Junction today. ( 28th February, 2018). Shri K.C.Veeramani, Hon’ble Minister for Commercial Taxes,Tamil Nadu, Shri G.Hari, MP, Shri B.Senguttuvan, MP, also graced the occasion by their presence. Shri.Naveen Gulati, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai Division was present.

The arrival/departure timings of Train No.12243 Chennai – Coimbatore Shatabdi Express at Katpadi will be 08.53 (Arr) and 08.54 (Dep)

Similarly, the arrival/departure timings of Train No.12244 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Shatabdi Express at Katpadi will be 20.14 (Arr) and 20.15 (Dep)

ISSUE OF ID CARDS TO FACILITATE ONLINE RESERVATION FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED PERSONS

Railways have asked differently-abled concession certificate holders to collect the Identity Cards that facilitate o­nline reservation with concession. Those who had applied and had not collected the ID cards have been requested over phone no. provided by them to collect the same. As of now, the Identity Card nos. upto 09800 are ready but not collected. The applicants may contract the Office ofthe Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, IVth Floor, Western Wing, Moore Market Complex, Southern Railway, Chennai-3 and collect the same. Those who had applied at Katpadi and Jolarpettai may contact the Station Manager of the respective stations and collect the Identity Cards.

Two Special Trains between Howrah – Ernakulam Junction

 In order to clear extra rush of Passengers two special trains will be run between Howrah –Ernakulam Junction as detailed below:-

Train No. 02835 Howrah –Ernakulam Superfast Special Train will depart Howrah at 17:00 hrs on 26th September, 2015 (Saturday)and arrive Ernakulam at 06:00 hrs on the following Monday.

Train No. 02836 Ernakulam - Howrah Superfast Special Train will depart Ernakulam at 08:50 hrs on 29th September, 2015  (Tuesday) and arrive Howrah at 23:00 hrs on the following Wednesday.

Enroute these special trains will stop at Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Erode, Coimbatore, Pallakad, Thrissur and Aluva stations in both the directions.
