SPECIAL TRAIN  TO RUN BETWEEN KOLKATA & AGARTALA

Kolkata, October 13, 2022:

Railway has decided to extend 02518/02517 Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati Bi-Weekly Special upto Agartala o­nce in a week with introduction of a new train no. 02502/02501 Agartala-Kolkata-Agartala special. 02502 Agartala- Kolkata special will leave  Agartala at 07:30 hrs. o­n every Wednesday in between 19.10.2022 & 30.04.2023 to reach Kolkata at 15:00 hrs. o­n the next day and  02501 Kolkata – Agartala special will leave Kolkata at 21:40 hrs.  o­n every Sunday between 16.10.2022 & 30.04.2023 to reach Agartala at 05:15 hrs. o­n the third day. 

With this extension, the existing Bi-Weekly service of 02518/02517 Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati has been reduced to weekly, i.e., leaving Guwahati o­n Every Saturday in between 15.10.2022 & 30.04.2023 and leaving Kolkata o­n every Thursday in between 20.10.2022 & 30.04.2023. Timings and stoppages  of 02518/02517 Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati will remain unchanged. 

 Hence the services of 02518/02517 Guwahati- Kolkata-Guwahati special will remain cancelled as under:

•02518 Guwahati-Kolkata special (on every Wednesday from Guwahati between 19.10.2022 & 25.01.2023)  

•02517 Kolkata- Guwahati special (on every  Sunday from Kolkata between 16.10.2022 & 29.01.2023).

02502/02501 Agartala- Kolkata-Agartala special will stop at Bandel, Nabadwip Dham, Katwa, Azimganj, Jangipur Road and Malda Town stations enroute in both directions over Eastern Railway Jurisdiction.

he train will have General Second class, Sleeper Class and Air-conditioned accommodations. Booking of Kolkata –Agartala special (02501) is available through PRS & internet. In addition to mail/express fare, special charge will be realized. Concessional booking is not allowed. Tatkal Quota is not available.

Metro will run 246 (123 UP & 123 DN) daily services instead of 240 services from Monday to Friday from 06.09.2021 (Monday) from 7:30 hrs to 22:30 hrs for the convenience of the Metro commuters. Metro is going to run 06 additional daily services.

Out of these services, 167 services (83 UP & 84 DN) will run in between Kavi Subhash and Dakshineswar.  Metro services will run at an interval of 5 minutes during morning and evening peak hours.

WR TO RUN FOUR MORE ADDITIONAL WEEKLY SUMMER SPECIAL TRAINS TO VARIOUS DESTINATIONS

For the convenience of passengers and with a view to meet the travel demand, Western Railway has decided to run four more additional weekly summer special trains between Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur, Udhna – Danapur, Ahmedabad – Kolkata and Okha – Guwahati stations.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the details of the above mentioned special trains are as under:

1). Train No. 09067/09068 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Weekly Special Train o­n Special Fare [4 Trips]

Train No. 09067 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Weekly Special will depart Bandra Terminus every Sunday at 19.25 hrs and arrive Gorakhpur at 06.05 hrs o­n Tuesday. This train will run o­n 18th and 25th April, 2021. Similarly, Train No. 09068 Gorakhpur – Bandra Terminus Weekly Special will depart Gorakhpur every Tuesday at 16.10 hrs and arrive Bandra Terminus at 05.10 hrs o­n Thursday. This train will run o­n 20th and 27th April, 2021. Enroute this train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Bhawani Mandi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bayana Jn, Agra Fort, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur Central, Lucknow City, Barabanki Jn and Basti stations in both directions. This train comprises of Sleeper Class and Second Class Seating coaches.

2). Train No. 09011/09012 Udhna – Danapur Superfast Weekly Special Train o­n Special Fare [4 Trips]

Train No. 09011 Udhna – Danapur Superfast Weekly Special will depart Udhna every Monday at 20.35 hrs and arrive Danapur at 22.30 hrs o­n Tuesday. This train will run o­n 19thand 26th April, 2021. Similarly, Train No. 09012 Danapur – Udhna Superfast Weekly Special will depart Danapur every Wednesday at 01.00 hrs and arrive Udhna at 05.15 hrs o­n Thursday. This train will run o­n 21stand 28th April, 2021. Enroute this train will halt at Nandurbar, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Prayagraj Cheoki, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn and Buxar stations in both directions. This train comprises of AC 2-Tier, Sleeper Class and Second Class Seating coaches.

3).Train No. 09413/09414 Ahmedabad – Kolkata Weekly Special Train o­n Special Fare [6 Trips]

Train No. 09413 Ahmedabad – Kolkata Weekly Special will depart Ahmedabad every Wednesday at 21.05 hrs and arrive Kolkata at 15.15 hrs o­n Friday. This train will run from 14th to 28th April, 2021. Similarly, Train No. 09414 Kolkata – Ahmedabad Weekly Special will depart Kolkata every Saturday at 13.10 hrs and arrive Ahmedabad at 07.15 hrs o­n Monday. This train will run from 17thApril to 1st May, 2021. Enroute this train will halt at Nadiad, Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Ratlam, Nagda, Ujjain, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Bina, Saugor, Damoh, Katni Murwara, Singrauli, Chopan, Nagaruntari, Garwa Road Jn, Daltonganj, Barka Kana, Bokaro Thermal, Phusro, Chandrapura, Dhanbad Jn, Asansol Jn and Durgapur stations in both directions. This train comprises of Sleeper Class and Second Class Seating coaches.

4). Train No. 09501/09502 Okha - Guwahati Weekly Special Train o­n Special Fare [6 Trips]

Train No. 09501 Okha - Guwahati Weekly Special will depart Okha every Friday at 11.40 hrs and arrive Guwahati at 06.30 hrs o­n Monday. This train will run from 16th to 30thApril, 2021. Similarly, Train No. 09502 Guwahati - Okha Weekly Special will depart Guwahati every Monday at 20.40 hrs and arrive Okha at 14.00 hrs o­n Thursday. This train will run from 19th April to 3rd May, 2021. Enroute this train will halt at Dwarka, Khambaliya, Jamnagar, Hapa, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Viramgam, Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Chhaypuri, Ratlam, Nagda, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Bayana Jn, Agra Fort, Tundla, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Faizabad, Akbarpur Jn, Varanasi Jn, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn, Patna Jn, Mokameh Jn, Barauni Jn, Khagaria Jn, Naugachia, Katihar Jn, Barsoi Jn, Khanapur, New Jalpaiguri, New Cooch Behar, New Bongaigaon, Rangiya Jn and Kamakhya stations in both directions. This train comprises of Sleeper Class and Second Class Seating coaches.

The booking of Train No. 09413 will open o­n 13th April, 2021, booking of Train No. 09501 will open o­n 14th April, 2021 and booking of Train Nos. 09011 & 09067 will open o­n 15th April, 2021 at nominated PRS counters and o­n IRCTC website.   • 02325 Kolkata-Nangal Dam Superfast Festival Special (via Dankuni) will leave Kolkata Station at 07:40 hrson 21.01.2021 ( 01 Trip ) to reach Nangal Dam Station at15:55hrs.on the nextday and
  • 02326 Nangal Dam -Kolkata Superfast Festival special ( via Dankuni ) will leave Nangal Dam at 06:50 hrs. o­n 23.01.2021 (01 Trip) to reach Kolkata Station at 14:45 hrs.on the next day. 
  • The train will stop at Asansol, Jasidih, Jhajha ,Kiul Jn., Patna Jn., Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn., Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad , Saharanpur Jn., Ambala Cantt., Sirhind Jn., Rupnagar & Anandpur Sahib stations enroute in both the direction.

Here is good news for Metro commuters! Metro authorities have decided to allow ladies and children (below the age of 15 years) to travel in the Metro from 11:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs without any e-pass from tomorrow i.e. 20.11.2020(Friday). 

They can travel in the Metro using their smart cards from 11:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs. Children must carry an ID as age proof (School ID will do).

To clear the rush of passengers, four (4) pairs of Fully Reserved Superfast Festival Special trains will be run between Howrah & Barmer. The 02323 Howrah-Barmer Superfast Festival Special (via Dankuni) will leave Howrah at 6.50 pm on November 6, 13, 20 & 27, 2020 to reach Barmer at 7.20 am on the third day. In return direction, the 02324 Barmer-Howrah Superfast Festival Special will leave Barmer at 3.55 pm on November 11, 18, 25 November & December 2, 2020 and reach Howrah at 6.10 am on the third day.

This train will have AC First Class, AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper Class and Second Class accommodation. The train will stop at Asansol, Dhanbad, Koderma, Gaya, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jn., Prayagraj Jn., Kanpur Central, Delhi, Rewari, Sadulpur, Churu, Ratangarh, Sujangarh, Ladnun, Didwana, Chhoti Khatu, Jodhpur, Samdhari and Balotra stations en route in both the directions.

Booking of the train in Up direction (02323) will be available from tomorrow at 8.00 a m through PRS & Internet.

 For the convenience of the passengers during this festive season, Eastern Railway (ER) is going to run fully reserved Festival Special trains between Sealdah & Silchar, Sealdah & Agartala and Kolkata & Gorakhpur, informed the ER authority.

          The 03175 Sealdah – Silchar Festival Special will leave Sealdah at 6.35 am on every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday between October 24, 2020 & November 30, 2020 (17 trips) to reach Silchar at 4.15 pm on the next day and the 03176 Silchar – Sealdah Festival Special will leave Silchar at 10.45 am on every Monday, Wednesday & Friday between October 26, 2020 & December 2, 2020 (17 trips) to reach Sealdah at 7.25 pm on the next day.

          The 03173 Sealdah – Agartala Festival Special will leave Sealdah at 6.35 am on every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday between October 25, 2020 & November 29, 2020 (21 trips) to reach Agartala at 8.45 pm on the next day and the 03174 Agartala – Sealdah Festival Special will leave Agartala at 5.55 am on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday between October 27, 2020 & December 1, 2020 (21 trips) to reach Sealdah at 7.25 pm on the next day.

Government of India approves Kolkata East-West Metro Corridor in Kolkata city & surrounding urban localities

Length of metro line is 16.6 km

Project cost is Rs. 8575 crore

Government has approved the Ministry of Railways’ proposal for revised cost estimate for construction of Construction of Kolkata East West Metro Corridor Project at an estimated cost of  Rs. 8574.98  crore. The project envisages construction of a Metro Corridor between Salt Lake Sector-V to Howrah Maidan in West Bengal for a total route length of 16.6 kms. The project is being implemented by Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited [KMRCL] which is a CPSE under Ministry of Railways, set up as a special purpose vehicle. The pre-pandemic target for completion of their project was December,2021. Efforts are being taken to minimise the impact of pandemic on completion of the project. The project includes immense technological challenges like tunnel below river Ganges which is the 1st transportation tunnel in India under any major river as well as Howrah Station which is one of the deepest Metro stations in India.

The mega project envisions creation of an efficient transit connectivity between business district of Kolkata with industrial city of Howrah in west and Salt Lake City in east through a safe, accessible and comfortable mode of public transport. Since this corridor connects three most important parts of the Kolkata Metropolitan Area i.e. Howrah, Business area of Kolkata and New Settlements in Salt Lake it is going to revolutionize the mass rapid transport in Kolkata and adjoining Howrah and Bidhanangar. This will connect important landmarks like Howrah, Sealdah, Esplanade and Salt Lake Sector-V which is an IT hub.

It will integrate multiple modes of transport like the Metro, Sub-urban Railways, ferry and bus transport by constructing interchange hubs. This will ensure smooth and seamless mode of transport to lakhs of daily commuters.

EXTENSION OF LAST METRO SERVICE

Keeping in view the increasing passenger count, Metro authorities have decided to run the last Metro service from both ends i.e. Kavi Subhash and Noapara at 07.30 p.m. instead of 7.00 p.m. from September 28, 2020 (Monday).

Three pairs of additional services will be run during this extended period.  As a result, a total 160 services will be run daily from coming Monday. Therefore, last Metro service will be extended from 08.00 p.m. to 08.30 p.m. from that day.

Kolkata, 1st June, 2020:
With a view to clear the huge rush of migrants at different places across the country due to nationwide lockdowns in the wake of Covid-19, Indian Railways has started transporting back the millions of migrant labourers and others to their home towns with effect from 1st May2020 by running of Shramik Special Trains between different States. South Eastern Railway has also taken major role to provide relief to the distressed migrant workers and other stranded passengers. The passengers of Shramik Special Trains are being provided with food and drinking water in various strategic points by Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
  • 18 Shramik Special Trains were received by South Eastern Railway on 31.05.2020 for various destinations of West Bengal, out of which,5 trains terminated in SER jurisdiction which were for West Bengal.
  • Today, 4 Shramik Special Trains have terminated at Howrah and o­ne ShramikSpecial Train has proceeded to Malda Town via Howrah. 2 more trains are expected to arrive Howrah today.
  • The passengers are being received by the civil authorities with necessary arrangements as per protocols.

INITIATIVES TAKEN BY SER DURING THE NATIONWIDE LOCKDOWN TO COMBAT COVID 19 PANDEMIC
To prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection, South Eastern Railway has come forward with a number of initiatives to confront the national crisis.Though regular passenger train services have remained suspended during the nationwide lockdown but freight train services continued along with Parcel Express Trains to maintain uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to different parts of the country. Apart from this, Shramik Special Trains are also being run for the benefit of stranded migrant wokers, students, patients etc. As per the directives of Railway Board, South Eastern Railway has geared up its machinery and adoptedthe following preventive measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic: -
In-House Production of Face Mask & Sanitizer
As a precautionary measure to fight COVID-19, SER is producing reusable face masks and hand sanitizer in its four divisions viz. Kharagpur, Adra, Ranchi and Chakradharpur as well as at Kharagpur Workshop. As many as 1,13,176 reusable face masks and 8,219 litres of hand sanitizer have been produced so far. These have been distributed amongst the frontline staff like loco pilots&guardsof Freight, Parcel and Special trains to ensure their protection. It has also been planned to distributethese masks among all other employees of South Eastern Railway.
Manufacturing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
In order to curb the spread of Novel Coronavirus, South Eastern Railway has started manufacturing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Kits for support of railway doctors, para-medical staff and other health care personnel. The kits are being manufactured mainly at Kharagpur Workshop and Kharagpur Division in association with SER Women’s Welfare Organisation, Kharagpur. The PPE Kit includes Face Cover, Eye Shield, NS-95 Mask, Coverall Gown with hood, Shoe Cover, Gloves etc. As many as 3,752 PPEs have been manufacturedso far as per approved quality assurance plan.
Distribution of Meals to Poor and Needy People
In view of Nation-wide Lockdown in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, South Eastern Railway has come forward to fulfil its social commitments and responsibilities. South Eastern Railway, tillnow has distributed 3,85,465 free and hygienic meals to the destitute, poor and needy people nearby and outside railway areas at Headquarters & all over its four Divisions viz. Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi.These free meals have been arranged and distributed by Security, Commercial and other departments along with IRCTC. Various associations viz. South Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SERWWO), SER Bharat Scouts & Guides, St.John Ambulance Brigade, Civil Defence, etc have also joined hands in this mass food distribution activities.
Modification of Passenger Coaches into Isolation/Quarantine Coaches
South Eastern Railway has completed the work for modification of 338 passenger coaches into Isolation/Quarantine Coaches till now to accommodate patients in view of outbreak of COVID-19. The modified coaches have been equipped with necessary facilitiesfor the Corona affected people. These have been modified at Santragachi Depot, Kharagpur Workshop, Tatanagar Depot and Hatia Depot under guidance of Medical Department of South Eastern Railway.
Installation of “AarogyaSetu”App.
Employees of South Eastern Railway are being encouraged to download the “AarogyaSetu” app for themselves and their family members. Employees are being counselled and encouraged to reap the benefits of the tracker in the App to keep their family members safe. Almost all SER employees along with their family members have installed the App.
Running of Time Tabled Parcel Express Trains
To maintain uninterrupted supply of essential commodities like vegetables, fruits, fish, egg, grocery items, medicines, medical equipment etc South Eastern Railway has been running a number of Time Tabled Parcel Express Trains towards different parts of the country. The Parcel Express Trains are running between Shalimar-Ranchi, Howrah-KSR Bengaluru, Shalimar-Mumbai CSMT, Tatanagar-Itwari, Howrah-Secunderabad and Shalimar-Porbander. These trains will continue to run up to 30thMay-2ndJune, 2020 to ensure swift and efficient transport of utilities. Till now, SER has run 1097 trips of Parcel Express Trains and handled 16,269tonnes of parcel traffic. 24X7 Helpline Numbers have been opened to enable the interested customers to avail booking of Parcel Express Trains.
Running of Shramik Special Trains
Indian Railways is running Shramik Special Trains since 01.05.2020 to bring back stranded migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students, patients etc. from different places of the country to their respective home states. As a result of the initiative taken by the Ministry of Railways in co-ordination with respective State Governments, so far 76 Shramik Special Trains arrived withstranded migrant workers at different stations under South Eastern Railway’s jurisdiction. These trains have arrived at Howrah, Hatia, Ranchi, Bokaro Steel City, Tatanagar, Kharagpur, Bankura, Purulia, Balasore and Hijli stations under SER jurisdiction from different parts of the country viz. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala etc. In addition, 3Shramik Special Trains with stranded migrant workers and others have originated from SER’s jurisdiction so far. One Special left Hatia Station for Jaipur on 14th May, 2020 and anothertwo Shramik Special left for Bikaner and Udhampur from Shalimar station on 17th and 22nd May 2020.
Intensive Sanitisation and Cleanliness Drive
In view of the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, South Eastern Railway has undertaken intensive sanitisation, cleanliness and disinfection drives in its four Divisions and Headquarters to prevent the spread the Novel Coronavirus. The disinfection and sanitisation drives have been carried out at all offices of Headquarters and Divisions along with station premises, trains etc. Though this is a continuous process but cleaning and sanitization work has now been intensified due to this deadly Coronavirus. Direct contact areas like railings, handles, door knobs,lift’s gate and buttons, escalators etc. are being rigorously cleaned and disinfected on regular measure. In order to ensure hygienic and safe working environment, SER has deployed trained house-keeping staff and is laying stress on mechanized cleaning and sanitizing which is being monitored by apex level.
GRADED RESTORATION OF PASSENGER SERVICES
The following steps have been taken so far for restoration of passenger services in a phased manner: -
Running of Special Trains
As decided by Ministry of Railways, AC Special Train Services have started from 12th May, 2020 on specific routes. These Special Trains include 02454/02453 New Delhi-Ranchi-New Delhi Bi-weekly Rajdhani Superfast Special and 02823/02824 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Special which originate/terminate/pass through SER’s jurisdiction.
Announcement of 9 Pairs of special trains
With a view to clear stranded passengers at various places across the country due to lockdown, Ministry of Railways have decided to run 100 pairs of Special Trains all over Indian Railways. Out of these 100 pairs, South Eastern Railway will run 9 pairs of Special Trains starting on different nominated days w.e.f 1st June, 2020. These Special Trains will run as per the existing route, timings, stoppages and compositions of regular Mail/Express, Duronto and Jan Shatabdi trains. These Special Trains are: -
02245/02246 Howrah-Yesvantpur-Howrah Superfast Special, 02213/02214 Shalimar-Patna-Shalimar Special, 02021/02022 Howrah-Barbil-Howrah Superfast Special, 02810/02809 Howrah-CSMT (Mumbai)-Howrah Superfast Special, 02834/02833 Howrah-Ahmedabad-Howrah Superfast Special, 08183/08184 Tatanagar-Danapur-Tatanagar Superfast Special, 02703/02704 Howrah-Secunderabad-Howrah Special, 02073/02074 Howrah-Bhubaneswar-Howrah Special and 02365/02366 Patna-Ranchi-Patna Special.
Opening of Ticket Booking Counters (PRS)
South Eastern Railway has opened reservation counters for booking of reserved tickets considering the need of the general public for making the task of ticket booking easy for all prospective travelers from all parts of India in reserved trains.PRS counters at 26 stations in four Divisions have been opened in SER jurisdiction w.e.f 22.05.2020.

RPF/ER continues to provide cooked meals to needy people following the Nation-wide lockdown due to COVID-19. The food is being prepared by RPF/NGO & IRCTC and the same is being distributed every day by RPF personnel all over the jurisdiction of ER.
In this process, today (27.4.2020) cooked food (lunch) were distributed among 2301 persons at different locations in and around Kolkata like Fairlie Place, Howrah, Sealdah, Bidhannagar, Park Circus, Ballygunge etc. and far-off places like Ranaghat, Srirampur, Seoraphuli, Nabadwip Dham, Barakar, Asansol, Madhupur, Jasidih, Dumka and Malda. Out of this large quantity of food, RPF/NGO/other organizations prepared food for 1176 persons, and the rest food for 1125 persons were prepared by IRCTC.
Moreover, dinner for a total of 1230 persons are also being prepared o­n date and the same will be distributed among the starving people by RPF personnel at various places. Out of this, food for 280 persons will be prepared by RPF/NGO/Others & the rest food for 950 persons will be contributed by IRCTC.

To clear the extra rush of the passengers during “URS” Mela at Ajmer, Eastern Railway will run o­ne pair special train (03137/03138) between Kolkata & Ajmer.
  • 03137 Kolkata – Ajmer URS special will leave Kolkata at 11.45 hrs. o­n 28.2.2020 (Friday) to reach Ajmer at 17.50 hrs. o­n the next day.
  •  03138 Ajmer – Kolkata URS special will leave Ajmer at 00.15 hrs. (midnight) o­n 2.3.2020 (Monday) to reach Kolkata at 6.30 hrs. o­n the next day.
  •  The train will have general second class, sleeper class and air-conditioned accommodation.
