East Coast Railway Special Trains for Rath Yatra

Puri to get 143 special trains for Rath Yatra

BHUBANESWAR: To accommodate all passengers heading to Puri for the nine-day Rath Yatra from June 25, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run 143 special trains to the temple town.
The trains - Yatra Express Specials - will originate from Khurda, Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Paradip, Berhampur, Bhawanipatna, Keonjhar, Bangiriposi (Mayurbhanj), Palasa and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Kharagpur, Shalimar (Kolkata) between June 25 and July 5.
As many as 28 trains will run to Puri for Gundicha Yatra (the first day of Rath Yatra) on June 25. A total of 56 trains will run between June 26 and July 2 for Sandhya Darshan. The zone has arranged 28 trains for Bahuda Yatra on July 3 and 28 trains for the Sunabesha ritual, which takes place on the day following Bahuda Yatra.
The ECoR will also run three trains on July 5.
On being asked about trains from other places such as Midnapore, Raipur, Rourkela and Jagdalpur, ECoR chief public relations officer JP Mishra said, "We are open to all proposals. In case there is a demand for special trains from these places, the same can be run, if feasible." He added that the railways would keep some coaches and engines on standby for deployment at short notice. The ECoR will open five additional enquiry counters, 35 additional ticket counters, 'May I Help You' booths and deploy additional ticket-checking staff at Puri station to tackle the rush. The pilgrim complex constructed during the Nabakalebara festival in 2015 would accommodate around 5,000 pilgrims, railway sources said.

Puri-Somnath (Gujrat) Special via Ahmadabad, Nagpur, Raipur, Rayagada & Vizianagaram connecting two religious destinations in East and West parts of India and also connecting Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal will have stoppages at Srikakulam Road & Palasa Stations.
09207 Somnath-Puri Special Train leaving Somnath at 0720hrs on every Saturday between 13thMay 2017 to 1stJuly 2017 and will reach Puri at 1005hrs on every Monday during the period. In the return direction, 09208 Puri-Somnath Special Train leaving Puri at 1945hrs on every Wednesday between 17thMay to 5thJuly 2017 and will reach at Somnath at 2100hrs on every Friday.
In the additional stoppages, 09207 Somnath-Puri Special will reach Srikakulam Road at 0200hrs and will leave at 0202hrs, reach Palasa at 0245hrs & will leave at 0247hrs towards Puri. In the return direction, 09207 Puri-Somnath Express will arrive Palasa at 0045hrs and will leave at 0047hrs and will reach Srikakulam Road at 0120hrs and will leave at 0122hrs towards Somnath.
This train has 01 AC-2 Tier Coach, 02 AC-3 Tier Coach, 08 Sleeper Class Coach, 04 Second Class Seating and 02 Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition with stoppages
​already ​at Veraval, Keshod, Junagadh, Jetalsar, Virpur, Gondal, Bhakti Nagar, Rajkot, Wankaner, Surendra Nagar, Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Annand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Nandurbar, Amalner, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Malkapur, Shegaon, Akola, Badnera, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Raj Nandgaon, Durg, Raipur, Mahasamund, Khariar Road, Kantabanji, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Rayagada, Vizianagaram, Ichhapuram, Brahmapur, Balugaon, and Khurda Road between Somnath and Puri from both the directions.​

Short Termination of Trains 
  • 12550 Jammu Tawi – Durg Express Train journey commencing  o­n 11.05.2017 will be Short Terminated at Raipur. 
  • The 18216 Jammu Tawi – Durg Express Train journey commencing  o­n 12.05.2017 will be Short Terminated at Raipur.

FIRST TIME SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN PURI AND SOMNATH VIA VIZIANAGARAM, RAYAGADA & RAIPUR

With a bid to clear additional rush of passengers and to facilitate the wait listed passengers, Railways have decided to run a pair of special train between Somnath in Gujrat to Puri via Ahmadabad, Nagpur, Raipur, Rayagada & Vizianagaram connecting two religious destinations in East and West parts of India and also connecting Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.

09207 Somnath-Puri Special Train will leave Somnath at 0720hrs on every Saturday between 13thMay 2017 to 1stJuly 2017 and will reach Puri at 1005hrs on every Monday during the period. In the return direction,
09208 Puri-Somnath Special Train will leave Puri at 1945hrs on every Wednesday between 17thMay to 5thJuly 2017 and will reach at Somnath at 2100hrs on every Friday.

8 AC SUPERFAST SPECIAL TRAINS BETWEEN PUNE AND HOWRAH Railways have decided to run 8 AC Superfast special trains between Pune and Howrah to clear the extra rush of passengers during Puja festival 2015. The details are as under:

Train No. 02221 Pune-Howrah AC superfast special (4 trips)will leave Pune at 10.30 hrs o­n every Monday from 19.10.2015 to 23.11.2015 and  reach Howrah at 18.15 hrs on next day.

Train No.02222 Howrah-Pune AC superfast special (4 trips) will leave Howrah at 18.30 hrs o­n every Saturday from 17.10.2015 to 21.11.2015 and arrive Pune at 02.45 hrs on third day.HALTS: Panvel, Bhusaval, Nagpur, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar & Kharagpur.

COMPOSITION: Four AC-2 tier, 11 AC-3 tier and Two generator cum Guard's brake vans.RESERVATION: Bookings for Train No.02221 will open from 14/10/2015.-Date: October 13, 2015

Central Railway will run 4 Superfast Special trains between Bilaspur and Pune to clear the extra rush of Passengers. The details are as under:

4 Superfast Weekly Specials between Bilaspur and Pune-Bookings open from 1.8.2015

BILASPUR - PUNE - BILASPUR WEEKLY SUPERFAST SPECIAL 

08295 Weekly Superfast special will leave Bilaspur at 12.30 hrs o­n Tuesday 4.8.2015 and 11.8.2015 (2 trips) and arrive Pune at 11.45 hrs next day.

08296 Weekly Superfast special will leave Pune at 15.15 hrs o­n Wednesday 5.8.2015 and 12.8.2015 (2 trips) and arrive Bilaspur at 12.05 hrs next day.

HALTS: Daund, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Akola, Badnera, Dhamangaon, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, RAnjangaon, Durg, Raipur and Bhatpara.

COMPOSITION : one AC 2-Tier, 8 AC 3-Tier, 6 Sleeper class, 2 General second class and 2 General second class cum guard's brake vans.

Green signal to Raipur, Bilaspur railway stations for redevelopment

Raipur (R): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday has approved 400 railway stations under A and A-1 category for redevelopment on ‘as is where is’ basis, which comprises nine stations under South East Central Railway, including Raipur and Bilaspur.

While Raipur and Bilaspur fall under A-1 category, Raigarh, Champa, Bhilai Power House, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Gondia and Bhandara Road fall under A category railway stations.

A-1 category railway stations have earning of more than Rs 60 crore through passengers and A category has passenger earning of Rs 8-60 crore.

Talking to media, RK Agrawal, DGM/South Eeast Central Railway said, “It’s a huge step forward towards modernization and change in passenger facilities can be expected. Passengers can look forward towards better facilities at railway stations now.”

Raipur-Bhawanipatna Passenger to run upto Junagarh Road


Raipur (R): To provide train services to more commuters, the East Coast Railways (ECoR) have decided to extend the run of the Raipur-Bhawanipatna Passenger train up to Junagarh Road from July 8. The Raipur-Junagarh Road Passenger train will leave Bhawanipatna at 10.45 pm and arrive at Junagarh Road at 11.45. In the return direction, the train will leave Junagarh Road station at 1.30 am, Kutrukhamar at 2.02 am and arrive at Bhawanipatna at 2.25 am. The timings for this train between Bhawanipatna and Raipur will remain unchanged. Similarly, the ECoR has decided to extend the services of Bangiriposi-Bhubaneswar-Bangiriposi Express to Puri from  July 18 to July 30 for Nabakalebar fest.
