For the convenience of rail passengers, Northern Railway will run the 04921/04922 Saharanpur-Ambala-Saharanpur Daily MEMU Special & 04992/04991 Jammu Tawi-Pathankot-Jammu Tawi DEMU Special Trains, as per the following programme :
·04921/04922 Saharanpur-Ambala-Saharanpur Daily MEMU Special ( 150 Trips)
The 04921 Saharanpur-Ambala Daily MEMU special train will depart from Saharanpur at 04.45 a.m. from 16.01.2018 to 31.03.2018 to reach Ambala Cantt. at 06.30 a.m. the same day (75 trips). In the return direction, the 04922 Ambala–Saharanpur Daily MEMU special train will depart from Ambala Cantt. at 08.45 p.m. from16.01.2018 to 31.03.2018to reach Saharanpur at 10.40 p.m. the same day ( 75 trips).
The 04921/04922 Saharanpur-Ambala-Saharanpur Daily MEMU special train will stop at Pilkhani, Sarsawa, Kalanaur, Jagadhari, Jagadhari Workshop, Darazpur, Mustafabad, Barara, Tandwal, Kesri & Dukheri Stations enroute in both the directions
· 04992/04991 Jammu Tawi-Pathankot-Jammu Tawi Five Days a Week DEMU Special (108 trips)
The 04992 Jammu Tawi-Pathankot five days a week DEMU special train will depart from Jammu Tawi at 09.50 a.m. from 16.01.2018 to 30.03.2018 (Except Saturday & Sunday) to reach Pathankot at 12.10 p.m. the same day (54 trips). In the return direction, the 04991 Pathankot-Jammu Tawi five days a week DEMU special Train will depart from Pathankot at 02.40 p.m. from16.01.2018 to 30.03.2018 (Except Saturday & Sunday) to reach Jammu Tawi at 05.10 p.m. the same day (54 trips).
The 04992/04991 Jammu Tawi-Pathankot-Jammu Tawi five days a week DEMU special train will stop at Bari Brahaman, Vijaypur Jammu, Bloch Hutt Basantar , Samba, Ghagwal, Hira Nagar, Chakdayala, Chhan Arorian, Budhi, Kathua, Madhopur Punjab, Sujanpur & Bharaoli Stations enroute in both the directions

Lady train driver dies
Lady train driver dies
Ambala: Ambala railway division ' s first woman locomotive driver, Rajni Devi, died in the city ' s civil hospital after delivering a baby on Tuesday, with her husband alleging lack of proper arrangements while transferring her from the maternity to the emergency ward.
However, Dr Vinod Gupta, the civil surgeon, said he had enquired and that no negligence on the part of doctors or nurses had been found.
Shiv Shakti said about the alleged lack of facilities in treating Rajni after her condition turned critical: " I myself had to carry the oxygen cylinder while shifting her to the emergency ward. " PTI

Trains Diverted due to Washable Apron work at Saharanpur Railway Station in Northern Railway
Due to washable apron work on Platform No. 4 (between 16th August to 20th September, 2016) and on Platform No. 5 (between 8th November to 13th December, 2016) separately at Saharanpur station of Ambala Cantt. Division on Northern Railway, the following trains are diverted as detailed below:-
1) Train No. 12687 Madurai Junction – Dehradun Express, journey commencing on 14th, 17th, 21st, 24th, 28th 31st August, 4th, 7th, 11th, 14th September, 6th, 9th 13th 16th 20th 23rd, 27th, 30th November, 4th, 7th December, 2016 is diverted to run via, Tapri, East Cabin and Hindan Cabin without touching Saharanpur. Resultantly the Train No. 22687 Madurai Junction – Chandigarh Express will be delinked from the above train at Meerut City instead of Saharanpur and will run separately.
2) Train No. 12688 Dehradun – Madurai Junction Express, journey commencing on 19th, 22nd, 26th, 29th August, 2nd, 5th, 9th 12th 16th 19th September, 11th, 14th, 18th 21st, 25th, 28th November, 2nd, 5th, 9th & 12th December, 2016 is diverted to run via Hindan Cabin, East Cabin and Tapri without touching Saharanpur. Resultantly the Train No. 22688 Chandigarh – Madurai Junction Express will be linked with the above train at Meerut City instead of Saharanpur and will run combined.

The Ambala division of the Northern Railways has set up its first laundry unit
Ambala div sets up first laundry service
Armed with a one-tonne machine capable of washing, ironing and steaming, the laundry set up in Chandigarh Railway Station is a first in Ambala division.
The Ambala division of the Northern Railways has set up its first laundry unit in Chandigarh. This will help the railways to wash more than 8,000 bedsheets in a single day. Other than the bedsheets, the railways can now also wash blankets, and towels of its own- which were earlier done by an outsourced company.
Armed with a one-tonne machine capable of washing, ironing and steaming, the laundry set up in Chandigarh Railway Station is a first in Ambala division. “This is a mechanized machine. We have installed two washing machines of 100 kg and 50 kg each.
Both of them have a capacity to wash 350 bed sheets in an hour,” said a railways official, adding that such machines have earlier been installed in Lucknow and Jabalpur.

Due to non interlocking work on Ambala division, there will be diversion/regulation of some trains originating from Western Railway:-
Diversion
·Train No 22451 Bandra (T)-Chandigarh Superfast Express leaving Bandra (T) on 1st October, 2015 will run on diverted route Sirhind-New Morinda-Sahibzada Ajitsingh Nagar.
·Train No 12919 Indore-Jammu Tawi Malwa Express leaving Indore on 4th October 2015 will run on diverted route Jakhal-Dhuri-Ludhiana.

Station Masters to ‘gherao’ Finance Ministry for Salary Revision on 02-Sept
Haridwar: Station Masters of 68 divisions of Indian Railway will “gherao” the Union Finance Ministry on September 2 in support of their demand for grade pay revision and threatened to launch rail-roko if their demands were not met before the release of Seventh pay commission report.
The decision of “gherao” on September 2 and submission of memorandum of the demands was taken today during the bi-annual meeting of the Association of Station Masters here, National General Secretary of the Association, V N Chowdhury said.
“If the demands are not met before the report of Seventh pay commission is released, then they will take part in the countrywide strike called by central government employees on November 23 and will stage ‘rail-roko’,” he said.
The station masters alleged the employees who were working under them were getting the entry level scale of Rs 9,300- 34,800 with grade pay of Rs 4,200, while they were still getting Rs 5,200-20,200 with grade pay of Rs 2,800 even when they more responsibilities, he said.
Railways Ministry in 2010 had sent a proposal for revising the pay scale of station masters to Finance Ministry for approval but it has adopted a “stubborn approach” for last five years, Chowdhury said.
A eight-point proposal of their demands was passed in the meeting including revising pay scale to Rs 9,300-34,800 with grade pay Rs 4,600, giving 30 per cent safety allowance, ending three to seven days roster, residential complex for their families, washing allowance and appointment of additional station masters in centralised panel stations, he said.
Over 300 station masters from all the five divisions of Uttar Pradesh and Ambala participated in the meeting, he said.
MPs Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Tarun Vijay were chief guests in the meeting and “assured the station masters of getting their demands approved”, Chowdhury said.

Over Northern Railway
In order to upgrade train operational facilities at Chandigarh Railway Station ,Northern Railway will undertake construction work of washable apron of Line No. 4 (Platform-3) causing 36 days traffic block from 26.05.15 to 30.06.2015. During the period of work, the following trains scheduled to run/pass through Chandigarh Railway Station will remain partially cancelled/regulated as under :-

Goods Train’s engine derails near Ambala, Rail traffic hit
Ambala Cant Jn (UMB): The engine of a goods train derailed near Ambala Cantt railway station today, affecting movement of trains on Delhi-Amritsar section.
The rail traffic was fully restored by 3 p m, said a railway official.
Several trains including Swarn Shatabdi, Shan-e-Punjab and Dadar Express were diverted, said ADRM, Ambala Railway Division, S K Sinha.
Sinha, who visited the scene, said an inquiry had been ordered into the derailment.
