 New Ashti-Ahmednagar new line inaugurated and  inaugural run New Ashti-Ahmednagar DEMU service flagged off.

The inaugural run of  New Ashti-Ahmednagar DEMU service was flagged off by Shri Eknath Shinde, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra (Through Video Conferencing) in the august presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Raosaheb Dadarao Patil Danve, Hon'ble Minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines, Government of India at New Ashti railway station o­n 23.9.2022. Earlier, the New Ashti -Ahmednagar new line (66 km)  by unveiling the plaque.

Hon'ble MLCs Shri Suresh Dhas, Shri Ram Shinde, Hon'ble MLAs Shri Balasaheb Ajabe, Shri Laxman Pawar, former MLA Shri Shivaji Kardile and Smt. Pallavi Dhonde, Nagaradhyaksha were present in the occasion.

Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway welcomed the dignitaries and briefed about the new DEMU train services. Shri Manoj Sharma, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), Shri Mukul Jain, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Shri Ajoy Sadany, Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Shri Shailesh Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Solapur Division, Central Railway and other officials & public in large number were present o­n the occasion.

Background & Benefits:

• The 66 km New Ashti-Ahmednagar broad gauge line is a part of the 261 km Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath new broad gauge line project which is o­n 50-50 cost sharing between the Government of India and State Government.

• The DEMU service will ensure better connectivity to residents of the New Ashti-Ahmednagar belt and nearby areas.

• It will promote local trade and industries and thus boosting socio-economic growth of the Marathwada region.

• The DEMU train will leave Ahmednagar at 07.45 am and arrive New Ashti at 10.30 am and in return, will leave New Ashti at 11.00 am and arrive Ahmednagar at 1.55 pm. This train will run daily except Sunday.

• This DEMU train will halt at Kada, New Dhanora, Solapurwadi, New Loni and Narayandoho.

Restoration of DEMU service between Pune- Phaltan-Lonand

Central Railway will restore the Pune-Phaltan-Lonand DEMU service with effect from 10.2.2022 o­n unreserved mail/express fare as per details given below.

01535 DEMU will leave Pune at 5.50 am; arrive Phaltan at 9.35 am

01537 DEMU will leave Lonand at 3.00 pm: arrive Phaltan at 4.20 pm.

01538 DEMU will leave Phaltan at 11.00 am: arrive Lonand at 12.20 pm

01536 DEMU will leave Phaltan at 6.00 pm: arrive Pune at 9.35 pm

The services will run daily except Sundays

Composition: 10 coach DEMU rake

Passengers are requested to board these trains adhering to all norms, SOPs related to COVID19 during the boarding, travel and at destination.

1.Train No. 06443 / 06444 Ernakulam Jn - Kollam – Ernakulam Jn Daily Unreserved MEMU Express Specials (12 Car MEMU):

Train No. 06443 Ernakulam Jn - Kollam Daily unreserved MEMU Express Special will leave Ernakulam Jn at 18.15 hrs o­n and from 30^th August, 2021 and reach Kollam at 22.15 hrs, the same day.

In return direction Train No. No. 06444 Kollam - Ernakulam Jn Daily unreserved MEMU Express Special will leave Kollam at 04.00 hrs o­n and from 30^thAugust, 2021 and reach Ernakulam Jn at 08.25 hrs, the same day.
