CHANGE IN ROUTE OF A SPECIAL TRAIN

Special fare special trains between Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli (via Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Attur, Salem, Karur) have been announced.

Train No.06047 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli special fare special train will leave Chennai Egmore at 07.40 hrs. on 24th, 28th & 31st March, 2017 and reach Tiruchchirappalli at 18.30 hrs. the same day.
Train No.06048 Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore special fare special train will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 08.15 hrs. on 23rd, 27th & 30th March, 2017 and reach Chennai Egmore at 18.45 hrs. the same day.
The route of Train No.06047 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli special fare special train scheduled to run on 28thMarch, 2017 has been changed.Instead of running via Villupuram, Vriddhachalam and Attur, the train will run via Chennai Beach, Arakkonam and Jolarpettai to reach Salem.Beyond Salem, there is no change in the route.There is no change in the route of Train No.06048 o­n any day.This change has been necessitated by engineering works at Vriddhachalam yard.
Hence, Train No.06047 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli special fare special train on 28th March, 2017 will run via Chennai Beach, Arakkonam and Jolarpettai to reach Salem.

Suvidha special train from Chennai Egmore to Tirunelveli

Train No. 00603 Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli Suvidha special train will leave Chennai Egmore at 21.05 hrs. on 29.04.2016 and reach Tirunelveli at 10.45 hrs. the next day.

Composition:  AC 2-tier – 1, AC 3-tier – 2, Sleeper Class – 12 & Luggage-cum-brake van – 2 coaches.
Stoppages:  Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar and Kovilpatti.

INSPECTION AND HIGH SPEED TRIAL RUN BETWEEN TIRUCHCHIRAPPALI JN. – MANAPARAI RAILWAY STATIONS

Shri Satish Kumar Mittal, Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bangalore will inspect the newly laid second broad gauge railway line between Tiruchchirappalli Jn. – Manaparai railway stations on 28.01.2016 & 29.01.2016. He will also conduct a high speed trial run by using an Inspection Special Train in the newly laid second broad gauge railway line between Samudram – Tiruchchirappalli railway stations, in the Manaparai - Tiruchchirappali section on 29.01.2016, Friday. The high speed trial run will be conducted between 12.00 hrs. – 17.00 hrs.

It is hereby advised that no unauthorised person shall approach / trespass or work in the proximity of the newly laid second broad gauge railway line between Tiruchchirappalli – Manaparai railway stations.

Diwali Special Trains between various Destinations

In order to clear extra rush of Passengers during Diwali and Chhat Pooja two suvidha special trains and three special trains are being run as detailed below:-

1)Tiruchchirappalli-Santragachi Superfast Suvidha Special Train (2 services):-

Train No. 06113 Tiruchchirappalli-Santragachi Superfast Suvidha Special Train will depart Tiruchchirappalli at 10:15 hrs on 8thNovember, 2015 arrive/depart Vijayawada at 00:15/00:25 hrs o­n 9th November, 2015 and arrive Santragachi at 19:30 hrs.

In return direction, Train No. 06114 Santragachi – Tiruchchirappalli Superfast Suvidha Special Train will depart Santragachi at 13:00 hrs on 10th November, 2015 arrive/depart Vijayawada at 08:20/08:30 hrs on 11th November, 2015 and arrive Tiruchchirappalli at 21:30 hrs.

Enroute, these special trains will stop at Srirangam, Ariyalur, Vridhachalam, Villupuram, Melmaruvatrur, Chengalpattu, Tambaram, Chennai Egmore, Gudur, Nellore, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Bramapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Balasore and Kharagpur stations in both the directions.

These special trains will have 19 coaches viz., o­ne AC II Tier, three AC III Tier, thirteen Sleeper Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

2)Nagercoil–Patna Special Trains (2 Services):-  

Train No 06115 Nagercoil-Patna Special Train will depart Nagercoil at 08:15 hrs o­n 9th November, 2015, arrive/depart Vijayawada at 06:45/07:00 hrs on 10th November, 2015 and arrive Patna at 15:15 hrs on 11th November, 2015.

In the return direction, Train No. 06116 Patna - Nagercoil Special Train will depart Patna at 10:00 hrs o­n 12th November, 2015 arrive/depart Vijayawada at 20:00/20:15 hrs on 13th November, 2015 and arrive Nagercoil at 16:45 hrs on 14th November, 2015.

Enroute, these special trains will stop at Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Vridhachalam, Villupuram, Chengalpaatu, Tambaram, Chennai Egmore, Gudur, Vijayawada, Warangal, Balharshah, Nagpur, Itarsi, Pipariya, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Chheoki, Mirzapur, Mugalsarai, Buxar and Ara stations in both directions.
These special trains will have 21 coaches viz., o­ne AC II Tier, o­ne AC III Tier, fourteen Sleeper Class, three General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

3)Chennai Central–Howrah Superfast Special Train (1 Service):-

Train No. 06119 Chennai Central-Howrah Superfast Special Train will depart Chennai Central at 17:20 hrs o­n 7th November, 2015 arrive/depart Vijayawada at 23:45/23:55 hrs and arrive Howrah at 18:30 hrs on 8th November, 2015.

Enroute, these special train will also stop at Gudur, Nellore, o­ngole,Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar and Khargpur stations.

This special train will have 20 coaches viz., sixteen Sleeper Class, two General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

SPECIAL TRAINS FOR DEEPAVALI

In view of Deepavali festival, the following special trains will be run to clear the extra rush of passengers.

1.Special trains between Chennai Egmore – Coimbatore Jn. (via. Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Salem).
  • Train No.06111 Chennai Egmore – Coimbatore Jn. special train will leave Chennai Egmore at 10.15 hrs. on 09.11.2015 and reach Coimbatore Jn. at 21.00 hrs. the same day.
  • Train No.06112 Coimbatore Jn. – Chennai  Egmore special train will leave Coimbatore Jn. 05.30 hrs. on 11.11.2015 and reach Chennai  Egmore at 16.15 hrs. the same day.
Composition:  AC 3-tier – 1, Sleeper Class – 5, General Second Class – 8 & Luggage-cum-brake van – 2 coaches.

Stoppages:Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Chinna Salem, Attur, Salem Town, Salem Jn. Sankaridurg, Erode, Uttukuli, Tiruppur and Coimbatore North.

Train No.06112 Coimbatore Jn.– Chennai Egmore special train will stop at Mambalam also.

2.‘Suvidha’ Special trains between Tiruchchirappalli – Santragachi (via. Chennai Egmore).
  • Train No.06113 Tiruchchirappalli – Santragachi ‘Suvidha’ special train will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 10.15 hrs. on 08.11.2015 leave Chennai Egmore at 16.15 hrs. on  08.11.2015 and reach Santragachi at 19.30 hrs. o­n 09.11.2015.
  • Train No.06114 Santragachi – Tiruchchirappalli ‘Suvidha’ special train will leave Santragachi 13.00 hrs. on 10.11.2015  leave Chennai Egmore at 15.30 hrs. on 11.11.2015 and reach Tiruchchirappalli at 21.30 hrs. 11.11.2015.

Composition:  AC 2-tier 1, AC 3-tier – 3, Sleeper Class – 13 & Luggage-cum-brake van – 2 coaches.

  • Train No.06116 Patna –  Nagercoil special train will leave Patna at 10.00 hrs. on 12.11.2015 leave Chennai  Egmore at 04.00 hrs. on 14.11.2015 and reach Nagercoil at 16.45 hrs. o­n 14.11.2015.

  • Train No.06118  Chennai Central – Nagercoil superfast special train will leave Chennai Central at 16.00 hrs. on 08.11.2015 and reach Nagercoil at 05.30 hrs. the next day.

Composition:  AC 2-tier – 1, AC 3-tier – 2, Sleeper Class – 12 & Luggage-cum-brake van – 2 coaches.

Stoppages: Valliyur, Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Karur, Namakkal, Rasipuram, Salem, Jolarpettai, Vaniyambadi, Gudiyattam, Katpadi and Arakkonam.

Train No.06117 Nagercoil – Chennai  Central superfast special train will stop at Perambur also.

Safety Audit begins in Dindigul-Tiruchi section

Railway officials say it’s a route inspection to ensure passenger safety

Dindigul (DG): A special safety audit team from Southern Railway, Chennai, led by Chief Safety Officer John Thomas, checked safety aspects in major stations and level crossings in Dindigul-Tiruchi section on Wednesday.

Talking to press persons before commencing the work at Dindigul railway station, Mr. Thomas said that the main purpose of the inspection was to ensure safety of passengers.

Safety audits were being conducted regularly by a multi-disciplinary team of railway officers to ensure implementation of all rules and guidelines for safe operation of trains.

“We will inspect stations, bridges, level crossings, signal cabins, accident relief trains, pit lines, running rooms, loco sheds, points and crossings and derailment-prone sections. Such periodical inspections served as an important tool to evaluate safety performance and to identify system failures and general shortcomings,” he added.

The railway officials said that the safety audit team would submit its report to the zonal railways which, in turn, would forward it to the Railway Board.

These reports would help the Board issue necessary safety instructions when required.

Later, the team inspected the signal cabin and asked the officials what their requirements were and whether they used advanced electronic tracking system provided to Dindigul railway station.

They also inquired about additional signal system on formation of additional tracks on platform 1 which is under construction.Railway Station Manager K. Mariappan accompanied the team. The team completed its inspection up to Manaparai in the evening.

Earlier, the team had a meeting with Divisional Railway Manager Sunil Kumar Garg, and other officers at Madurai divisional office. Senior officers from Safety, Engineering, Traffic and Signal and Telecommunications wings were the other members of the audit team.

On Tuesday evening, the team had inspected Madurai-Dindigul section, including Kodai Road and Ambathurai stations.
