 Platform Ticket Fare Reduced to Rs.10 Across all Stations of Vijayawada Division

Platform Ticket fare reduced to Rs.10 across all stations of Vijayawada Division, SCR to facilitate passengers on resumption of unreserved express trains

The Platform Ticket rates, which were temporarily increased as precautionary measure against Covid-19, at select stations of the Division have been revised downwards at the respective stations of Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway with effect from 00.00 hrs of 30th September, 2021.This decision has been taken in view of resumption of Unreserved Express trains over rail network.

​The Platform Ticket fares at all Railway Stations of Vijayawada Division will be Rs.10 (Rupees Ten only) w.e.f 30.09.2021.

​The issue of Platform tickets will facilitate to the large extent, all the rail passengers, especially Senior Citizens and Divyangajan in smooth boarding and alighting the trains. The precautionary measures being taken on railways to tackle Corona Virus will be maintained as usual. Rail users are requested to co-operate in this endeavour and follow all the protocols laid down in containing Covid-19.

Discount fare scheme on Vacant seats in trains having sitting accommodation of AC Chair Car class

Discount fare scheme o­n Vacant seats intrains having sitting accommodation of AC Chair Car class
Railways have permitted discount o­n base fares of AC Chair Car of the trains having poor occupancy. Fares for the following trains will be given variable discounts for a period of 6 months from 01.04.2020 to 30.09.2020 as under:-

Indian Railways have offered to its esteemed customers of suburban sections a discount of 0.5% o­n purchase of Season Tickets ( Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly and Yearly) over suburban section for the payment made through digital means i.e through debit cards, credit cards etc. Now, this discount offer is extended upto 31.03.2018.
Passengers are requested to note this and  may get this discount offer through digital payment.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to offer discount on metro fares tomorrow on the occasion of 71st Independence Day of India. This will be first time a discount has been offered by DMRC to mark the national holiday.
The fare fixation committee had proposed to offer discounts on national holidays - Independence Day, Republic Day and Gandhi Jayanti. This proposal was approved by the Metro board. DMRC had hiked metro fares recently on May 10, 2017, after keeping them unchanged for eight long years.
Decrease in fares
Discounts up to 50 per cent will be offered across various categories based on distance travelled. Travellers going covering five to twelve kilometres will be most to benefit from the discount. While Rs 20 is charged for this distance on normal days, metro travellers will have to pay only Rs 10 for the same distance tomorrow. Similarly, passengers going two to five kilometres, who usually pay Rs 15, will also have to pay Rs 10.
For going 12 to 12 kilometres, passengers will have to pay Rs 20 instead of Rs 30, for 21 to 32 kilometres, the fare will be Rs 30 as against Rs 40. For travelling 32 kilometres or more, passengers will have to pay Rs 40 and not Rs 50.
Moreover, smart card holders will continue to enjoy the 10 per cent reduction in fares they enjoyed earlier.
Metro parking lots to remain closed
The metro parking lots will remain closed on Independence Day, though, causing problems for vehicle owners who might be looking forward to drive to the metro stations.
Parking spots at metro stations were closed from 6:00 am on Monday due to security reasons. This arrangement will remain in place till 2:00 pm tomorrow that is Independence Day.

Spicejet offers Ticket for one rupee to promote Mobile App.

SpiceJet is offering 100,000 seats on sale for one rupee (excluding taxes and fees) in three-day sale on its mobile app. The sale will begin on Wednesday and will run till Friday and tickets under the scheme are valid for travel between July 15 to March 31, 2016.


The discount offer is available on through mobile app and not through any other channel. A customer will have to purchase a return to ticket to avail himself of the discounted fare. Also the discounted fare will be available only in one way and not for both ways.

A senior executive from a rival airline said the sale indicated a cash crunch at  SpiceJet but the airline's chief operating officer Sanjiv Kapoor denied it.

“There is no cash crunch. We are simply doing what work and through this sale we are promoting our app, which we will be a huge success for us,” Kapoor said.

“SpiceJet has been recognised by industry experts as a leading innovator in the Indian airline industry in recent times, as it has scripted a remarkable turnaround and returned to profitability,” he added.

Tickets bought under this sale are non-refundable (statutory taxes are refundable) and non-changeable. There is limited inventory under the offer, and seats are available on first-come, first-serve basis only. Availability depends on route, flight, date, and time of day, the airline said in a statement.
