WR TO RUN WEEKLY SUPERFAST SPECIAL ANTYODAYA EXPRESS BETWEEN BANDRA TERMINUS – GORAKHPUR

For the convenience of passengers and with a view of to meet the travel demand, Western Railway has decided to run additional special train between Bandra (T) – Gorakhpur (Weekly) Superfast Antyodaya Express

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the Bandra (T) – Gorakhpur (Weekly) Superfast Antyodaya Express special train will run w.e.f 17thJanuary, 2021 till further notice. Details of this special train are as under:

·Train No 09033/09034Bandra (T) - Gorakhpur- Bandra (T)Superfast Antyodaya Express (Weekly)

Train No 09033Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur (Weekly)Special train will leave Bandra Terminus at 05.10hrs o­n every Sundayand will reach Gorakhpur at 15.45 hrs, the next day. This train will run w.e.f. 17th January, 2021 till further advice. Similarly, Train No. 09034 Gorakhpur- Bandra Terminus(Weekly)Special train will leave Gorakhpurat 03.25 hrson every Tuesday and arrive Bandra Terminus at 14.25 hrs, the next day. This train will run w.e.f. 19th January, 2021 till further advice.

The train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Bharatpur, Achhnera, Mathura Jn, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Gonda, Balrampur, Siddharth Nagar andAnand Nagar stations in both directions. This train willSecond class seating coaches.

The booking for Train No. 09033 will open from 15th Jan, 2021 at nominated PRS counters and o­n IRCTC website.The train will run as fully reserved train.

Hon’ble Union Minister of State of Railways flags off Tambaram – Tirunelveli Antyodaya Express
Shri Rajen Gohain, Hon’ble Union Minister of State of Railways, along with Shri Pon Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping, flagged off Antyodaya Express train service between Tambaram - Tirunelveli and dedicated the Coaching Terminal at Tambaram to the nation during a function held at Tambaram railway station today, the 8th of June, 2018 in the presence of Shri M.R.Vijayabhaskar, Hon’ble Transport Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri K.N.Ramachandran, M.P., Shri S.R.Raja. MLA, Shri R.K.Kulshrestha, General Manager, Southern Railway, and Principal Heads of Depts of Southern Railway, and other dignitaries.

Speaking at the function, Hon’ble Union Minister of State of Railways acclaimed the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu and expressed his happiness in introducing the new Antyodaya Service for the people of Tamil Nadu. He stated that the Coaching Terminal at Tambaram commissioned at a cost of Rs.40.4 crore would ease the congestion at the other two terminals in Chennai , i.e., Chennai Central and Chennai Egmore. The Minister lauded the efforts of Southern Railway in fast tracking infrastructural projects successfully which will improve train operations and Safety records in the coming years. The Minister mentioned that Southern Railway’s initiatives in reviving the heritage Steam Locos and conducting commercial runs is praiseworthy.

The minister added that Indian Railways will continuously strive to meet the demands of its customers and invited State Governments to extend support to Railways in all areas of passenger service. The minister said that he firmly believed that Indian Railways is the backbone of the Country’s infrastructure and with the cooperation, valuable support and relentless work by its dedicated work force, Indian Railways will attain new heights in the coming days

Shri R.K. Kulshrestha, General Manager, Southern Railway, Shri Naveen Gulati, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai, Principal Head of Departments and officers and staff of Southern Railway were present on the occasion.

CHENNAI: The first Antyodaya rake is to be operated as a bi-weekly daytime special train between Tambaram and Sengottai from Monday. The rake comprising 16 unreserved Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches will start running from Tambaram.
Compared to the conventional coaches, the interiors and exteriors of LHB coaches have been wrapped with vinyl sheets to ensure that train sports a new look. Every coach reportedly has a drinking water vending machine to ensure comfort of passengers. Besides, a fire extinguisher has also been mounted.
The Antyodaya coaches have a vestibule to enable passengers to move from one coach to the last coach of the train, a senior railway official said. Proposed in the 2016 Union Budget, the Antyodaya coaches are ideal for night travel trains, with the added facilities.
To cater to more unreserved passengers in highly congested routes, the Railways announced that two Antyodaya Express trains would be introduced from Tambaram to Tirunelveli and Sengottai.
To begin the daily service, railways required two rakes of Antyodaya coaches. The second rake of 20 coaches had been handed over to Southern Railway only a week ago.
“After completing the mandatory safety procedures, the second rake would be put to use and accordingly the bi-weekly special train will be converted as regular Antyodaya Express,” he said.
According to a press note, Tambaram-Sengottai unreserved special train will leave Tambaram at 7 am on March 5, 7, 12 and 14 and reach Sengottai at 10.30 pm the same day.
Similarly, in the return direction, Sengottai-Tambaram unreserved special train will leave Sengottai at 6 am on March 6, 8, 13 and 15 and reach Tambaram at 10.30 pm the same day.
The trains will stop at Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Tiruchy, Pudukkottai, Karaikudi, Manamadurai, Aruppukkottai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Rajapalayam, Sankarankovil and Tenkasi.
Facilities in the new rake

• Drinking water vending machines inside the train
• It comprises 16 unreserved LHB coaches
• Ideal for trains that take night-long journeys
• Will help address demand for unreserved coaches

Increasing Unreserved Passenger Coaches In Railways 
To cater to the needs of passengers of un-reserved segment following endeavours have been made by the Indian Railways:-
(i)      As a matter of policy, it has been decided that all the Mail/Express trains (except fully reserved trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, etc.) introduced after 2007-08, shall have at least 6 general class coaches in their standard composition as per feasibility.
(ii)      Operation of fully unreserved services like Jan Sadharan, Janseva, Jan Nayak Express etc. to facilitate un-reserved segment of passenger. In the Railway Budget 2016-17, it has been further announced to introduce Antyodaya Express, which are long-distance, fully unreserved, superfast train services. Accordingly, of the 11 pairs of Antyodaya trains decided to be introduced during the year 2016-17 and 2017-18, four (4) pairs of Antyodaya Express have already been introduced till date.
(iii)     In pursuance of the announcements made in the Railway Budget 2016-17, regarding attachment of  two to four Deen Dayalu coaches in some long distance trains for unreserved travel to enhance our carrying capacity for the masses,  Indian Railways have inducted 321 Deen Dayalu coaches (General Class coaches) in 53 pairs of trains during the year 2016-17. Similarly, during the year 2017-18, 76 Deen Dayalu coaches are being utilized.
In addition to the above, during 2017-18 (till November, 2017) Indian Railways have also utilized about 137 General Class coaches for permanent augmentation of the loads of existing trains (which includes both Passenger and Express train services).
The passenger coaches plying over Indian Railways (IR) have been designed with the necessary safety features considering the operating conditions over IR. Linke Hoffman Busch (LHB) design coaches are of a superior design than Integral Coach Factory (ICF) type coaches and have better safety features like anti-climbing etc. It has been decided that only LHB coaches would be manufactured from April, 2018 onwards.

Is it notified to all concerned that the new weekly trains 22913/22914 Bandra (T) -patna Humsafar Express and 22921/22922 will commence operations in Bandra (T) -gorkpur Antyodaya Express.
These new trains was inaugurated by Hon'ble Railway Minister Dwa State dated flagging Bandra (T) through video conferencing from Mumbai 13:08:17 (Sunday) Train No. 02913 Bandra (T) -ptna inaugural special train and 02921 Bandra (T ) - Gorakhpur will be inaugurated as a special train.
