The following EMU Specials will be run for the benefit of the pilgrims Extending up to Tiruttani for the period of 5 days from 24.07.2019 to 28.07.2019 
1. Train No 43405 leaving MMC at 8.20 hrs departure Arakkonam at 10.40 hrs will reach Tiruttani at 11.00 hrs.
2. Train No:.43409 leaving MMC at 11.05 hrs departure Arakkonam at 13.05 hrs will reach Tiruttani at 13.20 hrs.
3. Train No.43411 train leaving MMC at 12.50 hrs departure Arakkonam at 14.50 hrs will reach Tiruttani at 15.10 hrs.
4. Train No 43418 leaving Tiruttani at 11.30 hrs. departure Arakkonam at 11.50 hrs will reach MMC at 13.50 hrs
5. Train No 43420 leaving Tiruttani at 13.30 hrs departure Arakkonam at 13.50 hrs will reach MMC at 15.45 hrs.
6. Train No 43422 leaving Tiruttani at 15.20 hrs departure Arakkonam at 15.40 hrs will reach MMC at 17.40 hrs.

TWO SUBURBAN TRAINS FULLY CANCELLED ON 23rd APRIL 2019
Due to operational reasons, the following trains are fully cancelled :-
Suburban EMU Train No.42013 MMC (Moore Market Complex) - Gummidipoondi EMU leaving MMC at 09.30 hrs on Tuesday, 23rd April 2019 is fully cancelled.
and Suburban EMU Train No .42022 Gummidipoondi - MMC (Moore Market Complex) leaving Gummidipoondi at 11.20 hrs on Tuesday, 23rd April 2019 is fully cancelled.
THREE SUBURBAN TRAINS RESCHEDULED ON 23rd APRIL 2019
Suburban EMU Train No.43653 Velachery - Avadi scheduled to leave Velachery at 07.25 hrs is rescheduled to leave at 07.45 hrs (20 minutes late start) on 23rd April 2019
Suburban EMU Train No.42009 MMC (Moore Market Complex) - Gummidipoondi scheduled to leave MMC at 08.15 hrs is rescheduled to leave at 08.30 hrs (15 minutes late start) on 23rd April 2019

Due to Line Block to facilitate engineering works between Chennai Beach – Washermenpet railway stations, changes will be made in the pattern of suburban train services on 23.06.2018 & 24.06.2018 as detailed below.
ON 23.06.2018, SATURDAY
A.The following suburban trains will be fully cancelled.
1.Train No.43655 Velachery – Avadi EMU local, scheduled to leave Velachery at 10.15 hrs.
2.Train No.43765 Velachery – Thiruvallur EMU local, scheduled to leave Velachery at 12.15 hrs.
3.Train No.43795 Velachery – Pattabiram Military Siding EMU local, scheduled to leave Velachery at 12.55 hrs.
4.Train No.43017 MMC – Avadi EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 12.35 hrs.
5.Train No.43217 MMC – Thiruvallur EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 09.30 hrs.

1.Train No.43952 Kadambattur – Velachery EMU local, scheduled to leave Kadambattur at 12.05 hrs. and reach Velachery, will be diverted to MMC and will be partially cancelled between Vyasarpadi Jiva – Velachery.
2.Train No.43666 Avadi – Velachery EMU local, scheduled to leave Avadi at 12.10 hrs. and reach Velachery, will be diverted to MMC and will be partially cancelled between Vyasarpadi Jiva – Velachery.
D.The following suburban trains, scheduled to leave from Velachery, will instead leave from MMC.
1.Train No.43941 Velachery – Tiruttani EMU local, scheduled to leave from Velachery at 11.20 hrs., will instead leave from MMC at 12.15 hrs.
2.Train No.43931 Velachery – Arakkonam EMU local, scheduled to leave from Velachery at 13.35 hrs., will instead leave from MMC at 14.30 hrs.

1.Train No.43912 Kadambattur – Chennai Beach EMU local, scheduled t leave Kadambattur at 12.05 hrs. and reach Chennai Beach, will be diverted to MMC and will be partially cancelled between Vyasarpadi Jiva – Chennai Beach.
2.Train No.43616 Avadi – Chennai Beach EMU local, scheduled to leave Avadi at 12.10 hrs. and reach Chennai Beach, will be diverted to MMC and will be partially cancelled between Vyasarpadi Jiva – Chennai Beach.
D.The following suburban trains, scheduled to leave from Velachery, will instead leave from MMC.
1.Train No.43821 Chennai Beach – Tiruttani EMU local, scheduled to leave from Chennai Beach at 12.10 hrs., will instead leave from MMC at 12.15 hrs.

CHENNAI: Due to Line Block to facilitate engineering works between Chennai Beach – Royapuram railway stations, changes will be made in the pattern of suburban train services on 17th & 18th February, 2018 as explained below.
A.  The following suburban train services will be fully cancelled on 17th February, 2018.
1.    MMC – Thiruvallur EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 09.30 hrs.
2.    Velachery – Avadi EMU local, scheduled to leave Velachery at 10.15 hrs.
3.    Velachery – Thiruvallur EMU local, scheduled to leave Velachery at 12.15 hrs.
4.    MMC – Avadi EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 12.35 hrs.
1.    Thiruvallur – Velachery EMU local, scheduled to leave Thiruvallur at 11.05 hrs.

D.  The following suburban train services will leave from MMC on 17th February, 2018.
1.    Velachery – Tiruttani EMU local, scheduled to leave Velachery at 11.20 hrs., will instead leave from MMC at 12.15 hrs.
2.    Velachery – Arakkonam EMU local, scheduled to leave Velachery at 13.35 hrs., will instead leave from MMC at 14.30 hrs.

A passenger special suburban train service from Avadi to PTMS will leave Avadi at 14.20 hrs. and reach PTMS at 14.40 hrs.
CHANGES IN PATTERN OF SUBURBAN TRAIN SERVICES – IN CHENNAI – ARAKKONAM SECTION
Due to Line Block and Power Block to facilitate engineering works between Thiruvallur – Kadambattur in Chennai – Arakkonam section, changes will be made in the pattern of suburban train services on 16th & 17th February, 2018 as explained below.
A.  The following suburban train services will be dealt on fast line from Thiruvallur to Arakkonam and will not stop at Senji Panambakkam railway station. 
1.    MMC – Arakkonam EMU locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 08.20, 09.10 & 11.05 hrs.
2.    MMC – Tiruttani EMU locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 10.00 & 11.45 hrs.
3.    MMC – Kadambattur EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 12.00 hrs.
B.  The following suburban train services will be dealt on fast line from Thiruvalangadu to Thiruvallur and will not stop at Senji Panambakkam railway station. 
1.    Arakkonam – MMC EMU locals, scheduled to leave Arakkonam at 08.55, 10.50 & 12.00 hrs.
2.    Arakkonam – Avadi EMU local, scheduled to leave Arakkonam at 11.20 hrs.
3.    Tiruttani – Velachery EMU local, scheduled to leave Tiruttani at 08.50 hrs.

Due to Line Block to facilitate engineering works between Ponneri – Elavur in Chennai – Gudur section, changes will be made in train services on 01st & 02nd September, 2017 as detailed below.

Due to Line Block and Power Block to facilitate engineering works for provision of Limited Use Subway at Nayudupeta yard and at Odur yard in Chennai – Gudur section, changes will be made in the pattern of train services as detailed below. 
On 08.08.2017, Tuesday 
A.The following express trains will run o­n diverted route. 
1.Train No.12841 Howrah – Chennai Central Coromandal express, scheduled to reach Chennai Central at 17.00 hrs. o­n 08.08.2017, will be diverted at Gudur to reach Chennai Central via Renigunta and Arakkonam.
2.Train No.12665 Howrah – Kanniyakumari express, scheduled to reach Chennai Egmore at 19.55 hrs. o­n 08.08.2017, will be diverted at Gudur to reach Chennai Egmore via Renigunta, Arakkonam and Chennai Beach.
3.Train No.12612 Hazrat Nizamuddin – Chennai Central Garib Rath express, scheduled to reach Chennai Central at 20.15 hrs. o­n 08.08.2017, will be diverted at Gudur to reach Chennai Central via Renigunta and Arakkonam.
4.Train No.22645 Indore – Thiruvananthapuram Ahilyanagari express, scheduled to reach Chennai Central at 23.20 hrs. o­n 08.08.2017, will be diverted at Gudur to reach Chennai Central via Renigunta and Arakkonam.
5.Train No.13351 Dhanbad – Alappuzha express, scheduled to reach Chennai Central at 01.25 hrs. o­n 09.08.2017, will be diverted at Gudur to reach Chennai Central via Renigunta and Arakkonam.(Stoppages at Nayudupeta and Sulurpeta will be skipped). 
B.The following MEMU trains will be fully cancelled o­n 08.08.2017 
1.Train No.66031 Sulurpeta – Nellore MEMU, scheduled to leave Sulurpeta at 15.45 hrs., will be fully cancelled.
2.Train No.66032 Nellore – Sulurpeta MEMU, scheduled to leave Nellore at 17.50 hrs., will be fully cancelled. 
C.The following MEMU train will be partially cancelled / diverted o­n 08.08.2017. 
·Train No.66036 Nellore – MMC MEMU, scheduled to leave Nellore at 16.00 hrs., will be partially cancelled between Gudur – MMC.The train will run from Nellore to Gudur o­nly.
On arrival at Gudur, this train will be operated as a passenger special train to MMC via Renigunta and Arakkonam.

First metro rail subway at Central to open next month

Chennai: The first of the four pedestrian subways planned by Chennai Metro Rail Limited near Chennai Central will be opened for the public next month. The 8.9 m wide subway connecting Park suburban station with Moore Market Complex (MMC) at Poonamallee High Road, built as part of Central Square, will have several facilities including escalators and elevators. It will replace the existing temporary foot overbridge and will take a significant number of pedestrians off the busy junction. Another subway of the same width that will give access to Central Railway Station from the bridge opposite is expected to be ready by the end of 2017.
"The interior work in the subway near MMC is nearing completion. We are planning to open it by the second week of April. The other subway is likely to be ready by the end of this year," said a metrorail official. Once the first subway is opened, the temporary iron foot overbridge that is now giving access to MMC from Park station will be dismantled.

Two more subways will be constructed by the company that will take up the contract to build Central Square. Officials said they will invite tenders soon after the byelection is over. One of them will be a 14m wide subway between Central railway station and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital while the other will link the hospital with Flower Bazaar road. All the four subways will have solar panels installed on the roof at the entry points. Electricity generated from these panels will be used to power lighting facilities in the subways. There will also be several other facilities including escalators and elevators.
An official said that once all the four subways are opened, the existing one near Central Railway Station will be closed.

Central Square planned on the lines of Madison Square Garden in New York is aimed at taking pedestrians underground and easing congestion on the road. It will be a hub for multi-modal transport as well as a hangout spot. "Central Square will be a major landmark in the city. We are hoping to get it ready by next year when the Central metro will be fully operational," an official said.
Construction work is also simultaneously going on at Central metro station, which will be a transit hub. Corridor 2 that will connect Central metro station to St Thomas Mount via Koyambedu is planned to be commissioned by the end of this year, while Corridor 1 linking far flung areas of North Chennai to the southern parts of the city is expected to be ready by mid-2018.

In view of the recruitment examination for the posts of Postman / Post Mail Guard to be held at 53 centres in and around Chennai o­n 11th December, 2016, weekday services will be maintained in Chennai Beach – Tambaram – Chengalpattu & Chennai Beach – Velachery MRTS sections o­n 11th December, 2016 (Sunday) for the convenience of the candidates appearing for the examination.

In addition to the above, two suburban services running in MMC – Avadi sector will be extended to run upto Thiruvalluras explained below.

Train No.43005 MMC – Avadi EMU, scheduled to leave MMC at 08.55 hrs. and reach Avadi at 09.35 hrs., will run upto Thiruvallur.The train will reach Thiruvallur at 10.05 hrs.In the return direction, it will run as passenger special, leaving Thiruvallur at 10.15 hrs. and reaching Avadi at 10.45 hrs.

Regulation of train services
