CHANGES IN PATTERN OF TRAIN SERVICES

Due to Line Block and Power Block to facilitate engineering works between Ennore – Ponneri in Chennai – Gudur section, the following changes will be made in the pattern of train services from 19th June, 2017 to 05th July, 2017 except o­n Fridays – 23rd & 30th June, 2017.

1.Train No.57240 Bitragunta – Chennai Central passenger train will be regulated / delayed at Ponneri for 60 minutes.

2.Train No.42406 Sulurpeta – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Sulurpeta at 10.00 hrs., will leave Sulurpeta late by 15 minutes.Moreover, this train will be regulated / delayed at Attipattu for 20 minutes.

3.Train No.42013 MMC – Gummidipundi EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 09.30 hrs., will be partially cancelledbetween Ennore – Gummidipundi.The train will run from MMC to Ennore only.

4.Train No.42015 MMC – Gummidipundi EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 10.25 hrs., will be partially cancelledbetween Ennore – Gummidipundi.The train will run from MMC to Ennore only.

5.Train No.42018 Gummidipundi – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Gummidipundi at 09.50 hrs., will be partially cancelledbetween Gummidipundi – Ennore.The train will run from Ennore to MMC only.

7th CPC Allowances should be implemented without any further delay-NCJCM

Sub: Inordinate delay in implementation of the report of the Committee on Allowances

It is a matter of regret that, in spite of all the persuasions made by the Staff Side(JCM) there is inordinate delay in finalization of recommendations of the Ashok Lavasa Committee on Allowances. More than one year and three months have passed after implementation of the report of the VII CPC, but the employees are still getting allowances at the old rates as had been recommended by the VI CPC.

The Committee on Allowancestook longer time while finalizing its recommendations, but it is a matter of deep regret that, even after submission of the report by the said committee, the same has not been made available to the Staff Side(JCM), therefore, we do not know what recommendations have been made by the said committee.

Staff Side(JCM), therefore, requests that the recommendations of the Allowances Committee should be made available to the Staff Side(JCM).

Moreover, it would be highly appreciated that, the Allowances should be implemented without any further delay, and the date of the implementation should be w.e.f. 01.01.2016.

Hyderabad Realty on a Sticky Wicket due to Metro Rail, ORR Delay

Hyderabad: Inordinate delay of over nine months in the construction of Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) and Outer Ring Road (ORR) is adding to the woes of the city realty sector which is already reeling under various problems.

The negative impact of the delay was highlighted by popular property portal 99acres.com, in its quarterly report (July-August 2015) on real estate trends and analysis of seven metro cities in India. According to the report, which was released on Wednesday, property prices have remained static in the past three months and the rental value has dropped by 3 percent. The delay in completing infrastructure projects like Hyderabad Metro Rail and ORR has further affected Hyderabad realty. East Hyderabad was the worst-hit due to these delays, said Narasimha Jaya Kumar, Chief Business Officer of 99acres.com.

With the alleged problems being encountered in land acquisition in the old city delaying the metro rail project further, the observation made by Jaya Kumar gives further pain to the builders and realtors of Hyderabad.

“The future of Hyderabad realty is greatly dependent on the metro rail and ORR. For instance, if ORR gets completed then many areas falling on both sides of the expressway will see a rise in property prices and spur new launches. Many builders, who had acquired lands on the outskirts of Hyderabad, are looking for completion of the ORR to start new projects. The ORR delay is definitely worrying,” said K Gopala Krishna, treasurer of Telangana Real Estate Developers Association (TREDA).

While areas like Kothapet and Nagole benefited from the under-construction metro, areas like Bandlaguda and Hydershakote gained from being strategically situated between PV Narasimha Rao Elevated Expressway and Outer Ring Road. Barring a few areas like these, most other areas of Hyderabad are either negatively impacted or are experiencing zero growth due to delays in public infrastructure projects.

“Many buyers, who used to prefer central Hyderabad locations like Panjagutta, Somajiguda, Secunderabad and Koti among others, are moving to places like Madhapur, Gachibowli and Hitec City in western Hyderabad. New areas on the outskirts which have good connectivity and social infrastructure are also preferred. Metro rail connectivity and access to ORR will be the key points which will influence the decision of these segments,” said G Narotham Reddy, general manager of Cybercity Builders and Developers.

Railways facing 'mammoth problems' due years of neglect: Suresh Prabhu 

KOLKATA: Hinting at tenure of UPA I and II, railway minister Suresh Prabhu today said that his department is facing 'mammoth problems' that is caused by years of neglect. Significantly, for a major span in both the tenures, the rail ministry was run by TMC leaders including Mamata Banerjee, Dinesh Trivedi and Mukul Roy 

"In last several years we have not invested in the railways as much as it was necessary. And it is now showing clearly in terms of safety, in terms of the dropping customer service, in terms of delays," Prabhu said during an event at the Eastern railway headquarter today.

Adding that the number of new trains cannot be cannot be introduced unless the capacity is augmented, the minister said, "People who want to reach their families during festivals are not getting berths. But we cannot put more trains and add rolling stock unless we augment the capacity. All these are showing because of years of neglect and lack of investments. 

Asking for state government's cooperation, he said, "The railways are facing mammoth problems and we need to work in partnership with states. .We need to correct it, but nothing will happen overnight. We are on track, and on our way to achieving it. It will take time but it will happen. 

In another programme, Prabhu described Railways as a 'patient in ICU' for whom the 'doctor told that the operation is successful, but the patient would not able to join Marathon now and it will take time.'

Train services between Pollachi and Palakkad would commence within the coming weeks

COIMBATORE:  Train services between Pollachi and Palakkad would commence within the coming weeks, said top railway officials.

"All work has been completed at the 54-km stretch between Pollachi and Palakkad, and train service would commence soon after line inspection by SK Mittal, Commissioner, Railway Safety, Bangalore," said R Venkatasamy, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), who carried out an  inspection on Wednesday.

Mittal's inspection on the line is likely to be next week.

"Frequent rains due to the southwest monsoon had disrupted work leading to the delay. Several contractors were engaged for the work. Labour crisis added to the delay," said Venkatasamy.

As many as `400 crore has been spent in the gauge conversion work between Pollachi and Palakkad, which was started on 2008. Likewise, gauge conversion of the 40-kilometre stretch between Podanur and Pollachi would take another year. About three lakh cubic meters of rock near Kinathukadavu is said to hamper the conversion work.

"A huge rock is located at a depth of 40 feet inside the earth and it will take seven months to remove it. Of the 40 kms, we have completed broad gauge work up to 30 km so far. We will have to construct six road over-bridges and road under-bridges," said the official.

Recently, railway authority took over 20 acres of land for gauge conversion work near Kinathukadavu on the Podanur-Pollachi section.

Chennai Metro rail fires Gammon, stops tunnelling work

Chennai (MAS): Underground tunnelling of metro rail along Anna Salai here has halted and is likely to remain so for several months as Chennai Metro Rail has terminated the 2,000crore contract with Gammon India-Mosmetrostroy.

The decision was taken after Gammon India delayed work and couldn’t get its Russian partner Mosmetrostroy to resume work on the last 3km stretch.

This would mean that the metro corridor, which is one year behind schedule and struggling to meet an extended deadline of 2016-end, may not be ready till late 2017. This 23.1km corridor, from Washermenpet to Airport, includes 14.3km underground.

Authorities are planning to float fresh tenders for the remaining work worth 800crore. The process is expected to take three or four months. If everything goes according to Plan B, work is likely to resume in January.

The Gammon-Mosmetrostroy joint venture had bagged contracts to build tunnels and underground stations between Government Estate to Saidapet in February 2011. It could complete only 60% of the work.
