Age Relaxation: By 10 years for persons with disabilities (PWD) (13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST), For Ex-servicemen with disabilities, up to the extent of service rendered in Defence, plus 3 years, provided they have put more than 6 months service after attestation.

Minimum Educational Qualification: 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent examination (OR) ITI equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Selection Process: Single stage Online Exam, documents verification and medical examination. The Online exam scheduled to be held between 15th February to 25th February 2016.

Online Exam Details: 
(1) The Question papers will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type.
(2) The standard of questions for the online examination will be generally in conformity with the educational standards prescribed for the posts. Question will be objective in nature with aim to assess general knowledge / awareness, mathematics and reasoning etc. The question paper will have 100 questions.
(3) There shall be negative marking in online examination and marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer@1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question.
(4) Duration - Duration of the examinations will be 90 minutes. Extra time of 30 minutes shall be allowed to the VH candidates, where scribe is allowed. 

 Exam Fee: Nil

How to Apply: Eligible Candidates are required to Apply Online through RRC NR Website and fill up the personal details and Bio-data etc. The closing date for online registration is 31/01/2016 up to 17:00 Hours.

‘Railways, defence sitting on unused land’

The recommendation is one among several proposed to the ministry to add to the report on decongesting Delhi, submitted by a 19-member inter-ministerial committee to the Prime Minister last year. 

The Public Works Department (PWD) has proposed formation of a standing committee to resolve issues of transfer of land for projects. The department, in an official communication to the Ministry of Urban Development, has cited issues relating to the inability in getting permissions for conducting feasibility studies from the Ministry of Defence and the Railways, who are “not forthcoming” in issuing no-objection certificates.

The recommendation is one among several proposed to the ministry to add to the report on decongesting Delhi, submitted by a 19-member inter-ministerial committee to the Prime Minister last year.

In its communication, the PWD has stated that “several of the projects proposed in the report on decongestion of Delhi will require transfer of land or permissions to PWD for construction on land owned by Railways, Defence, L&DO, Government of Uttar Pradesh and the municipal corporations. Some of the proposals have already been taken up with the Indian Railways and the Ministry of Defence authorities, but even preliminary permissions such as NOC for feasibility studies and surveys on land owned by such agencies is not forthcoming”.

“These agencies own large tracts of unused land such as along the rail tracks, which have also divided the city in segments. Rail tracks are big barriers for shorter routes between arterial roads. There are not enough underpasses/overpasses on the rail tracks in the city to create new road networks, as railways takes a long time to give permissions. Similarly the ring railway and land along it is underutilised. The PWD has already proposed construction of elevated road corridors along such land, providing space for future expansion on the railway tracks,” the letter states.

Some of the proposals that the PWD has taken up with the Ministry of Defence include an elevated corridor from Brar Square on the Ring Road to Toda Pur Road, a flyover at the Cariappa Marg (Jail Road) to Dhaula Kuan and a tunnel road from Janakpuri district center to Rao Tula Ram Marg.

Review Meeting Metro work - CM Oommen Chandy

A high-level meeting convened by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Wednesday has asked the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) to pay compensation for land acquisition through the district administration.

The meeting held in the Secretariat decided that 0.61 hectares would be acquired from Apollo Tyres, Kalamassery, for Kochi Metro. The orders will be issued on Thursday. The Aluva Municipality and the Kochi Corporation were asked to hand over land in their possession for the project. Government guidelines would be followed in awarding compensation for the two local bodies.

The proposal to acquire the land near the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, taken on lease by St. Albert’s College, came up for discussion. The college and the Greater Cochin Development Authority should be given compensation. The District Collector was asked to submit a proposal and the next Cabinet would decide on the issue.
