STOPPAGE OF BANDRA TERMINUS – GORAKHPUR ANTYODAYA EXPRESS AT ANAND NAGAR STATION                                                 
Ministry of Railways has decided to provide stoppage to Train No. 22921/22922 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Antyodaya Express at Anand Nagar station o­n experimental basis with effect from 19th November, 2018 for a period of six months. Train No. 22921 Bandra Terminus – Gorkhpur Antyodaya Express will arrive at Anand Nagar station at 15.50 hrs and depart at 15.52 hrs. Similarly, Train No. 22922 Gorakhpur – Bandra Terminus Antyodaya Express will arrive at Anand Nagar station at 04.09 hrs and depart at 04.11 hrs.

Cancellation of Trains
Due to operational reasons, the following trains will remain cancelled as under :
  • The 22895 Durg - Firozpur Antyodaya Express train , Journey Commencing on 18.11.2018 and 25.11.2018 shall remain cancelled . Consequently the 22896 Firozpur  Durg Antyodaya Express train, Journey Commencingon 20.11.2018 and 27.11.2018 will also remain cancelled.
  • The 14650 Amritsar-Jaynagar Saryu Yamuna Express train, Journey Commencing on 17.11.2018 shallremain cancelled . Consequently the 14673 Jaynagar – Amritsar Shaheed Express train, Journey Commencing o­n 19.11.2018 will also remain cancelled.

INTRODUCTION OF ANTYODAYA (DAILY) EXPRESS TRAINS BETWEEN TAMBARAM – TIRUNELVELI POSTPONED

Due to technical reasons, Antyodaya Daily Express trains announced earlier to be introduced between Tambaram – Tirunelveli (Ref : Press Release No.56/2018-19 dated 24.4.2018) have been postponed until further advice. i.e.Train No.16191/16192 Tambaram – Tirunelveli – Tambaram Antyodaya daily express train announced from 27th April stands CANCELLED .

The revised date of commencement of service of Train No.16191/16192 Tambaram-Tirunelveli-Tambaram Antyodaya (Daily) Express trains will be notified later.

Passengers to pay about 15 per cent more than the existing fare for travel in Antodaya Unreserved Express

Indian Railways to run two Antodaya Express rakes which are ready now to be rolled out on the high demand long-route destinations – one to ply between Mumbai-Tata and the second is slated to run between Ernakulam-Howrah.

NEW DELHI: General passengers will have to shell out about 15 per cent more than the existing fare for travelling in Antodaya Express, the fully unreserved superfast service to be launched shortly in dense routes. Equipped with facilities like water purifiers, mobile phone charging points and fire extinguishers among others, the first Antodaya Express is slated to be pressed into service from Mumbai for Tatanagar this month. Provided with bio-toilets for zero discharge of effluents, Antodaya coaches will have toilet occupation indication lights provided at each end near the doorway with better visibility from compartments, a first in general class.

Two rakes of Antodaya Express are ready now to be rolled out on the high demand long-route destinations, a senior Railway Ministry official said. While one will be launched between Mumbai and Tata, the second is slated to be between Ernakulam and Howrah, another busy route.

However, the official said the fare for Antodaya Express is likely to be slightly higher than the mail/express fares. The fare structure has not been finalised yet but it will be between 10 per cent to 15 per cent more from the regular fare, he said. Catering to the growing requirement of general passengers, Railways had announced the introduction of Antodaya superfast trains with many modern facilities for unreserved category in the last budget.

Cushioned luggage racks with coat hooks, Antyodaya Express will also have LED lights and enhanced capacity dustbins. Besides there will be cushioned seats with aluminium composite panels interior for aesthetic look of the coach. Railways has maintained that manufacturing cost of these coaches with modern facilities is high, so there have to be special fares for these services which will be higher than that of regular trains.

Earlier Railways introduced the Humsafar Express, the fully AC-3 service, also part of the budget commitment, with dynamic fares. After Antodaya, railways will launch Tejas Express, another special service in April with higher fares.
