South Central Railway Introduces New Degree Courses at Railway Degree College, Secunderabad

SECUNDERABAD: In order to strengthen the Railway Degree College for the welfare of the wards of Railway Employees, South Central Railway has introduced the following Degree courses from the academic year 2017-18.

1.     B.Sc. (Maths, Physics and Chemistry) – English Medium
2.     B.Sc. (Maths, Statistics, Computer Science) – English Medium
3.     B.Com. (General) – English Medium
4.     B.Com. (Computers) – English Medium

The highlights of the courses which were officially announced by SCR are as under:

i.       Reasonable Fee structure as per the Government norms
ii.      Highly qualified Professors
iii.     Fully equipped Computer Laboratory with sufficient number of Computers
iv.     Spacious Library consisting of books of all subjects
v.      Fully equipped Science Laboratories
vi.     Special Coaching for competitive Examinations

The admissions will be allotted at the ratio of 51% for the wards of Railway employees and 49% for the wards of non-railway persons from the academic year 2017-18. The wards of railway employees may approach Railway Degree College in person and obtain the required applications and wards of the non-railway persons may apply for admissions for the new courses through on-line mode i.e., www.dost.cgg.gov.in/University wisecollegecourses.do

Vigilance Awareness Commences Across Indian Railways 


The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, 2016 commenced across Indian Railways with a Pledge taking ceremony by Officers and staff. The Central Vigilance Commission has given the theme of “Public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating Corruption” for the Vigilance Awareness Week this year. A special function was organized in the Railway Board where Shri A.K.Mital, Chairman/Railway Board administered the Pledge to a gathering of Railway staff and officers on 31st October, 2016.   Similar functions have taken place at various Zonal Railway Headquarters and other important offices of Indian Railways where the Pledge was administered by the Heads of office. The Pledge is aimed to reinforce commitment of officials towards bringing about integrity and transparency in all spheres of their activities and to fight corruption with vigour.

During this Vigilance Awareness Week, various events will be organized around the theme of anti-corruption by the field units of the Railways. There is a special focus on sensitizing the youth and to achieve this objective,af4 lectures, panel discussions, debates, discussions, plays, essay writing competitions etc. are being organized in a large number of schools and colleges by the Indian Railways.  Two “Integrity Pledges” will also be taken on-line by citizens and organisations/corporates to reinforce their commitment for incorruptible governance.

GANDHI TOURIST SPECIAL TRAIN FROM IRCTC

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (A Govt. of India enterprise) as part of the Centenary of arrival of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi to India, the preacher of non violence and the arrival of “Ähimsa” to the world has programmed and launched an exclusive tourist train from Madurai o­n 30.09.2015 o­n a 6 day tour covering Historical Sites in Delhi linked to Mahatma Gandhi and visit to Agra.The special tourist train embarks on a mission to rekindle the ideas and philosophies of the father of the nation.Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi returned to India from South Africa along with his wife Kasturba on January 9, 1915.

The Gandhi Special tourist train from Madurai has been routed via Dindigul – Karur – Erode – Salem, Katpadi – and Chennai as boarding stations facilitating the public with emphasis o­n students across various cities / towns to board the tourist train.The special tourist train helps students realize the pain staking efforts by our leaders who gave their yesterday for a better tomorrow for us all.Parents and teachers are highly encouraged to make use of this opportunity to inspire student about the legends of this Great Nation.
