DMRC:ALL METRO STATIONS IN DELHI-NCR WILL REMAIN OPEN TODAY

Advisory dated: 19.03.2017

As advised by Police authorities, All Metro stations in Delhi-NCR will remain open today and thereafter...with only restriction that NO EXIT will be allowed from Patel Chowk,Central Secretariat,Udyog Bhawan and Lok Kalyan Marg station of Line-2 tomorrow. However, Entry will be allowed at these four stations.

Recharge your Metro Smart Card the Mobile Way on Delhi Metro

New Delhi: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today launched a top up (recharge) facility of Metro Smart Cards through ICICI Bank Business Correspondent Network (Outlets) located across the Delhi and NCR region.

“These outlets are not to be mistaken with ICICI bank branches. They are outlets which can be located at your neighbouring mobile recharge shop or some other store enabling you to add value to your card in a way mobile top ups are done,” a metro spokesman said.

A metro statement elaborated the process as part of which a customer will have to provide the Metro Smart Card Number (at the back panel of the card), the recharge amount in cash (minimum is Rs. 100 and maximum Rs. 3000 at present) and mobile number to the agent at the outlet.

But the only hurdle is that recharges done through this route will have to be validated by tapping the card in add value machines (AVM-white colour machine) installed near customer care centre of selected stations.

DMRC data says, about 70 per cent of metro commuters use smart cards presently while around 16,000 smart cards are sold every day from the various stations of the 190 km long network.

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority signs MOU with DMRC for Jewar Metro

Greater Noida: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Monday, for a feasibility study to be carried out followed by a detailed project report (DPR), for the proposed track between Greater Noida and Jewar.

The 38km Metro route will be a link between Knowledge Park II in Greater Noida and Jewar, which falls in the YEIDA area. The civil aviation ministry had last week cleared the proposal for a second international airport in the NCR, likely to be built in Jewar.

According to officials, the techno-economic feasibility report (TEFR) should roughly take three months to prepare. “The report will include details about the proposed Metro route alignment, the current status of the route, number of stations required and the estimated cost of putting the track in place,” G P Singh, finance controller YEIDA, said.

No LTC in case of posting in hometown: Government

"Government employees whose headquarters or place of posting and hometown are one and the same are not eligible for hometown LTC," it said.

Besides, these employees cannot convert hometown LTC to avail special concession scheme to travel to North-East region, Jammu and Kashmir, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Department of Personnel and Training said in an order.

However, government employees whose headquarters are Delhi and reside in cities or towns outside the national capital and falling in other states of National Capital Region (NCR) are eligible for hometown concession, the order said.

Every new recruit in government service is required to declare his or her hometown to avail the benefits of LTC.

The LTC allows grant of leave and ticket reimbursement to eligible Central government employees to travel to their hometowns.
    
However, the government has recently allowed employees to visit North-East region and Jammu and Kashmir, among others, in order to promote tourism and increase people-to-people contact.
