Silent warriors during COVID19 pandemic – Real Heroes – Electrical Department

The Traction Distribution (TRD) wing of Electrical Department of Central Railway is mainly responsible for overhead electrical power supply to Railways is also playing a crucial role in smooth operations of trans. To ensure uninterrupted supply of essential goods like food grains, medicines, vegetables by plying goods and parcel trains, the TRD wing working tirelessly towards maintenance of Over Head Equipment’s (OHEs) and Power Supply Installations (PSIs).

The TRD wing of Central Railway also ensuring the maintenance of Crossovers, Turnouts, Masts, Cantilevers etc for smooth operations of trains by operating power blocks o­n all five Divisions of Central Railway i.e. Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Solapur and Bhusaval. The Live Line Checking by Tower Wagon and Foot Patrolling of sections is being carried out to ensure healthiness of OHE gears for smooth running of trains.

It is also ensured the Social Distancing during work and supply of face masks, sanitizers, soap, gloves, disinfectants etc. to all the staff as precautionary measures in view of spread of COVID19 virus.

In these difficult times, maintenance carried out by TRD officials is commendable. Central Railway has dedicated it’s all work forces to fight against the COVID19 pandemic be it may be running of goods and parcel trains for uninterrupted supply of essential goods or taking care of people stranded by supplying food during the nationwide lockdown
