TRACK YOUR TRAIN’S PLATFORM USING 139 OR NTES APP AT CHENNAI CENTRAL
YET ANOTHER INITIATIVE BY SOUTHERN RAILWAY FOR PASSENGER CONVENIENCE
Southern Railway has made arrangements for passengers boarding and alighting at Chennai Central railway station to get information regarding the Platform Number on which their train will be received or dispatched.Platform allocation at Chennai Central has been linked to both 139 and the NTES app.This facility will be enabled at all major stations in a phased manner.
Platform allocation as well as information regarding expected arrival and scheduled departure of trains is available through the NTES app and from 139.The NTES app is a free app which has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS) for Indian Railways.This app can be downloaded on any Windows, Android or i-phones through Play Store or the i-Tunes app Store and will also give information regarding cancelled, rescheduled or diverted trains.
Through 139, passengers can receive their PNR status as well as information regarding time of arrival and departure of all trains including Platform Number allocation by sending an SMS.
For information regarding arrival/departure time and Platform Number, the customer should send SMS to 139 as given: AD spaceTrain Number space STD Code of station/city.For instance, type AD 12607 044 and send to 139.
