EASTERN RAILWAY INITIATIVES FOR ‘DIGITAL INDIA’

INTRODUCED onLINE REGISTRATION SYSTEM OF THE PATIENTS AT SUPERFICIALITY HOSPITALS OF ER

Kolkata, January 25, 2016:

Eastern Railway has introduced a unique system of registering the names of patients through online system. This will help to minimize the waiting period of the patients and make the process of registration for taking appointment from the super-specialty and multi-specialty hospitals of Eastern Railway hassle free. This has been introduced as per the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s flagship programme “Digital India” scheme.

In this system, any Railway beneficiary from any corner of India can easily register his/her name by using their AADHAAR Card number for getting appointment for consultation  at B. R. Singh Hospital, Sealdah and Howrah Orthopaedic Hospital of Eastern Railway.

At present, Eastern Railway is the only Railway Zone to introduce such a patient-friendly system under Digital India initiative. The system will be useful for all patients especially for senior citizens and people staying in far-away places.

This online patient registration system was inaugurated by the Director General, Railway Health Services, Railway Board, New Delhi, Dr. Anil Kumar on 24thJanuary, 2016 at Kolkata.
