15-COACH EMU LOCAL FLAGGED OFF FROM HOWRAH STATION

·Foundation stone laid for new DRM’s Office at Howrah

·GM/ER inspected the progress of work for new Jubilee Bridge

An oldest employee of Howrah Division, Shri Kiran Prakash, flagged off a 15-coach EMU rake from Howrah station today (28.1.2016) in presence of Shri R. K. Gupta, General Manager, Eastern Railway The basic objective behind introducing the 15-coach EMU rake is to provide more accommodation to the passenger so that they can travel comfortably.

Eastern Railway introduces 15-coach rake for the first time o­n an experimental basis. It is decided that this effort of introducing 15-coach EMU local will be continued after evaluating the feedback from the valued passengers.

Divisional Railway Manager, Eastern Railway, Howrah and other senior divisional officers were also present o­n the occasion.

Shri R. K. Gupta, General Manager, Eastern Railway also laid the foundation stone of the new office building of the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) at Howrah. It will be the state of the art office premises as well as having the aesthetic look commensurate with the heritage architecture of Howrah station. 

Later, GM/E.Rly inaugurated Track Machine Shed beside Howrah station which will house and upkeep the modern track laying machines.
