EASTERN RAILWAY TO RUN SPECIAL TRAINS FOR GANGASAGAR MELA

Kolkata, December 21, 2015

To cope with the anticipated rush of the passenger during Gangasagar Mela-2016, Eastern Railway has planned to run seven (7) galloping EMU Mela special trains o­n Sealdah – Lakshmikantapur-Namkhana section o­n January 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 2016 (i.e. total 5 days).

On Sealdah – Namkhana section 2 Up and 3 Down, o­n Namkhana – Lakshmikantapur section 1 Up, and o­n Lakshmikantapur – Sealdah section 1 Up EMU locals will ply o­n the above dates.

In addition to the above galloping mela special trains, the following arrangements will also be made:

• ·Train No.34981 Up Kakdwip-Lakshmikantapur local will be extended upto Sealdah (South) station as galloping mela special o­n January 14 & 15, 2016.
• ·Train No.34923 & 30711 Namkhana-Majerhat local via Ballygunge will be extended to Sealdah (South) o­n January 15, 2016.
• ·Train No.30414 Down Sealdah (South) – B B D Bag local will be extended upto Kolkata station o­n January 12, 13, 14, 2016 and o­ne Kolkata-Namkhana Passenger special train via Majerhat and Ballygunge will run o­n January 12, 13, 14, 2016.
• Train No.·30413 Up BBD Bag-Sealdah (South) local will be cancelled o­n January 12, 13, 14, 2016.
