Odisha: ECoR to run eight pairs of special trains in winter

Bhubaneswar: To provide comfortable journey to passengers during this winter, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run eight pairs of weekly and bi-weekly winter special trains towards different destinations from its jurisdiction. A total of 1.8 lakh additional berths have been provided for the purpose, informed an ECoR release.

These trains are Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Cant Bi-weekly Super Fast SUVIDHA Express, Bhubaneswar-Patna Weekly Special, Puri-Santragachi Weekly Special, Bhubaneswar-Rangapara North (Assam) Weekly Special, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Weekly Special, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Weekly Special, Visakhapatnam-Krishnarajpuram Bi-weekly SUVIDHA Express and Visakhapatnam-Kollam Weekly Sabarmalai Special train.

The Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Cant bi-weekly SUVIDHA would leave Bhubaneswar at 10.50 pm on every Saturday and Wednesday and reach Bangalore Cant at 10.40 pm on the next day between December 16 and January 17. Its return train would leave Bangalore Cant at 1 am on every Monday and Friday and arrive at Bhubaneswar at 1.45 am the following days between December 18 and January 29.

The Bhubaneswar-Patna Weekly Special would leave Bhubaneswar at 3.35 pm on every Friday and reach Patna at 11.40 am on Saturdays between November 27 and January 29. Its return train would leave Patna at 2 pm on every Saturday and reach Bhubaneswar at 7 am on Sundays between November 28 and January 30.

The Puri-Santragachi Weekly Special would leave Puri at 9.25 pm on every Friday and arrive at Santragachi at 6.30 am on the following days between November 27 and January 29. Its return train would leave Santragachi at 7 pm on every Saturday and reach Puri at 4am on the next days between November 28 and January 30.

The Bhubaneswar-Rangapara North (Assam) Weekly would leave Bhubaneswar at 10 pm on every Sunday and arrive at Rangapara North at7.25 am on Tuesdays between November 29 amd January 31. Its return train would leave Rangapara North at 9 pm on every Tuesday and reach Bhubaneswar at 5.30 am on Thursdays between December 1 and February 2.

The Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Special, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Special, Visakhapatnam-Krishnarajpuram Weekly Special and Visakhapatnam-Kollam Sabarmalai Weekly Special trains are plying during the period, informed an ECoR release.

These apart, a number of special trains have been planned to ply between different destinations through its jurisdiction during this winter and thus create more berths from the ECoR. These apart, important regular trains have been planned to be augmented with additional coaches during the period, informed the release.
