Central Railway introduce Bio-degradable, Environment-friendly Garbage Bags on Long Distance Trains
Mumbai: In a first for Indian Railways, Central Railway has introduced biodegradable, environment-friendly garbage bags on long distance trains.
The linens provided to train passengers come packaged in these light green coloured bags, but once the linens are unpacked, passengers can use the packaging as garbage bags.
These environment-friendly disposable bags have been introduced in the AC coaches of two CR trains—Mangalore Express and the Pune-Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express.
Passengers can then consign these waste bags to the dustbin or can request the onboard housekeeping service staff to do so during their rounds
