ER’S NEW APPROACH TO EDUCATE RAIL USERS AT LEVEL CROSSING

ER’S NEW APPROACH TO EDUCATE RAIL USERS AT LEVEL CROSSING

Kolkata, July 14, 2014:

All out efforts are being made by the Railways to make the road users aware of the dangers of negligently crossing an unmanned level crossing without stopping their vehicle and watching out for any approaching train. By doing that road users neglect their own safety while going across unmanned level crossing area.

In an attempt to make such awareness campaign more effective, visuals of “Danger Ahead” if negligently one tries to cross at unmanned level crossing on an experimental basis to make the road user more aware of the fatal consequences of negligently crossing unmanned level crossing. It is expected that this display would be more effective than displaying the usual penal notice for violating Section 161 of the Railways Act, 1989, in deterring negligent road users risking their lives at unmanned level crossing.
