Special Trains From Narsapur to Secunderabad
In order to clear extra rush of passengers, SCR will run o­ne Special Trains from Narsapur to Secunderabad as detailed below:-Accordingly, 
Train No. Train No. 07255 Narsapur - Secunderabad special train will depart Narsapur  at 21.10 hrs o­n 28th January, 2018  and arrive Secunderabad at 08:25 hrs o­n the next day.
Enroute this special train will stop at Palakollu, Bhimavaram Jn, Bhimavaram Town, Akividu, Kaikalur, Gudivada, Vijayawada, Guntur, Piduguralla, Miryalaguda and Nalgonda stations.
This special train consist of AC II Tier, AC III Tier, Sleeper Class and Brake van cum Luggage Coach.

SC Railway gets first Bio-diesel Engine on World Environment Day

Secunderabad: South Central Railway celebrated the World Environment Day by taking a significant leap forward towards attaining the objectives of Energy Conservation by commencing the run of the first Main Line Diesel Locomotive fuelled with a blend of Bio-Diesel and traditional High Speed Diesel (HSD) today i.e, 5th June, 2015. The introduction, which marks the beginning of regular usage of Bio-Diesel on main line locomotives on SCR, is also a first of its kind endeavor on Indian Railways.

The initiative, taken forward on the directions of Shri P.K.Srivastava, General Manager, SCR has seen the Zone taking its first firm step on the long journey of finding a cleaner and environment friendly alternate fuel. Shri Umesh Singh, Additional General Manager, SCR inaugurated the Bio-Diesel facility at Railway Consumer Depot (RCD) Sanathnagar, wherein, the first diesel Locomotive (No. 14974/KZJ/WDG-3A) was been fuelled with a blend of 5% Bio-diesel with 95% of Traditional HSD Oil.

The use of Bio-Diesel will not only bring down the dependency of Indian Railways and the Nation on fossil fuel but also entail a substantial reduction in Foreign exchange spent on procurement on HSD oil. It will also have the added benefit of earning huge carbon credits to the Railways since use of Bio-diesel as alternate fuel will reduce corresponding amount of carbon footprint. This innovation will not only give a big boost to the Indian economy but also will result in cleaner Environment.

With the Hon’ble Minister of Railways laying special emphasis on Swatch Rail in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s flagship “Swatch Bharat” movement, Railway is abuzz with various innovative activities towards making the rail journey a memorably clean experience to the commuters. SCR has made significant contribution towards this cause, like turning out of record number of 9 rakes fully equipped with bio-toilets, generation of solar energy to the tune of 1MW etc.

Chief Mechanical Engineer (Rolling Stock & Locomotives) andShri N.Srinivasa Reddy, Sr. Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Operations & Freight), Secunderabad Division, SCR.

Hyderabad Metro Rail buys eight SCR properties for Rs.40 crore

Hyderabad: Properties belonging to the South Central Railways (SCR), which are of strategic importance to the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, have been acquired recently. The eight properties of various land sizes were handed over to the Metro project at a cost of Rs. 40 crore, said Hyderabad Metro Rail MD, N.V.S. Reddy.

Talking about the legal status of the acquired land in Miyapur, he said: We faced difficulties in taking possession of 104 acres land but we had overcome it. Close to 200 court cases were filed on the land and we won almost all of them, except around 20 more cases. We hope to win the rest of the cases too.

Mr. Reddy was giving the Dr.A.Ramakrishna 2 Endowment Lecture on ‘Hyderabad Metro Rail as an Engineering Innovation and Urban Redesign Opportunity’ organised by The Institution of Engineers on Monday.

Giving an update on the project, he said that about 45 km of viaduct is complete but Metro rail services would not start immediately because only eight km of the metro line is ready and this will not serve the purpose of the immediate transportation needs of the public.

Talking about the green initiatives, Mr. Reddy said that 5,000 trees have been cut for the Metro project and according to the forest department rules we have to plant five sapling for every tree felled. Instead of 25,000 saplings, we planted three lakh saplings till date. About 2,000 trees were transplanted and all are doing well. We will also beatifying the medians like the one in Madhapur, he said.

Hyderabad Metro is the first Indian metro project to implement Communication Based Train Control system and it is also being used in Delhi and Cochin projects. Earlier, Mr.Reddy remembered late builder and engineer, A. Ramakrishna, for his contribution to several development related projects in the country.  Meanwhile, Mr.Reddy said that Police permission for Metro Rail works in crowded Hyderabad areas has been granted and the works would go unhindered.

Unified Unreserved Ticketing System cum Passenger Reservation System Facility Opened at Medchal Railway Station

South Central Railway has opened a Unified Unreserved Ticketing System cum Passenger Reservation System (UTS cum PRS) counter at Medchal Railway Station, Ranga Reddy District o­n Secunderabad – Mudkhed Section of Hyderabad Division from today i.e., 2nd August, 2014. This facility is an offshoot of the assurance given by Shri P. K. Srivastava, General Manager, SCR during his inspection of Medchal Railway Station recently, to Shri M.Sudheer Reddy, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Medchal, Telangana State.

Passengers can avail the facility of making train reservations from 08.00 am to 02.00 pm  at this counter. This facility will also serve the surrounding areas of Medchal Railway Station, viz., Medchal, Kompally, Kandlakoya, Dabilpur, Gundlapochampalli, Shameerpet, Tumukunta, Girmapur, Atvelli, Gadgilpur, Sri Rangavaram, Gowdavalli, Kistapur, Yamzal, Raylapur, Ravalkol, Ginavaram, Gandi Mysamma, Dindigul Airforce Academy and Gummatla. The facility of UTS cum PRS is also available at Manoharabad and Bolarum stations in the vicinity, o­n this section.
