13107/13108 & 13109/13110 Kolkata – Dhaka Cantt. – Kolkata Maitree Express will remain cancelled between 1.9.2017 & 4.9.2017 due to ‘Eid-Ul-Azha’ celebration in Bangladesh.

13107/13108 Maitree Express will remain cancelled o­n 1 & 3.9.2017 from Dhaka Cantt. and o­n 2 & 4.9.2017 from Kolkata station. 13109/13110 Maitree Express will remain cancelled o­n 1.9.2017 from Kolkata station and o­n 2.9.2017 from Dhaka Cantt.

COMMITTED TO PUBLIC SERVICES NORTHERN RAILWAY RESTORES TRAIN SERVICES EARLIER PLANNED FOR SUSPENSION ON 26th & 27th SEPTEMBER 2015 ON THE BANIHAL-BARAMULA RAIL SECTION IN KASHMIR VALLEY

PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND REQUEST FROM DIVISIONAL COMMISSIONER, KASHMIR CONSIDERED BY NORTHERN RAILWAY FOR RUNNING THE TRAIN SERVICES
ON 26TH & 27TH SEPTEMBER

NORTHERN RAILWAY APPEALS TO RAIL USERS AND LOCAL PUBLIC NOT TO RESORT TO VANDALISM OR UNLAWFUL ACTIVITY on TRAINS AND IN RAILWAY PREMISES AND TRAVEL WITH PROPER TICKETS

As a public transportation organization, the Railway remains the most popular, safe and economic mode and the preferred choice of transport in the Kashmir Valley region ever since introduction. However, in keeping with its abiding objective for safe running of train services in the Kashmir Valley, as per the deliberations with the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, the Railway had planned to temporarily suspend train services between Banihal-Baramula apprehending untoward incidents o­n the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha o­n 26th & 27th September 2015.

As large sections of the local public had appealed for restoration especially in keeping with the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and their request was backed by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir. The Railway has decided not to suspend the train services in the said rail section.

 However, in the light of the recent incidences of arson and vandalism to sophisticated railway installations and obstruction to train crew in operating trains in the Valley by anti-social elements, Northern Railway appeals to the  travelling public using train services in Banihal- Baramula region to discourage and prevent and counsel such persons indulging in mindless vandalism and obstruction of rail operations as the general public is put to great inconvenience causing a chain of detrimental conditions.

Kashmir: Train services to remain suspended on Sep 26, 27

Train services in Kashmir Valley will remain suspended for two days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha as part of precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident.

In a meeting with government officials on July 25, Railways had decided to "temporarily suspend train services between Banihal and Baramulla apprehending untoward incidents on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha on September 26 and 27", a Railways spokesman said. 

He said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr in July, "incidents of vandalism and obstruction to train crew" had affected train services in the Valley. 

The Northern Railway also appealed to the people of the state to "discourage and prevent anti-social elements from indulging in mindless vandalism and obstruction of rail operations", he said.
