Luxe Mum-Goa train to hit the tracks from June

Come June, and you will be pampered with cuisi ne curated by celebrity chefs and individual LCD chefs and individual LCD screens while travelling on Tejas Express to Goa. The state-of-the-art premier train, which is set to begin operations in June, will also have tea and coffee vending machines, magazines and snack tables, said a senior railway ministry official.
The 20-coach Tejas Ex press will also have automatic doors and secured gangways for all coaches, a first for the Indian Railways. Currently in India, automatic doors are operational only on Metro trains and gangways--corridors between coaches--are not closed from the sides.

Besides choicest cuisine curated by celebrity chefs, there will be Wi-Fi facility on the train, which will have a world-class colour scheme.There will also be water-level indicators in bio-vacuum toilets, sensorised taps and hand driers. Each commuter will have hiher own individual LCD screens for entertainment, dissemination of passenger-related information and safety instructions, the official added.

Tejas coaches will also have integrated braille displays, digital destination boards, and electronic passenger reservation charts. Catering service will be part of Tejas fares like on Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains. Comprising executive class and chair cars, Tejas coaches will be equipped with 22 new features, including fire, smoke detection and suppression systems. The aim is to provide comfort to passengers in the inter-city journeys, he said.

After it is launched on the Mumbai-Goa route, the Tejas service, which was promised in the budget, is likely to be pressed on the Delhi-Chandigarh line. AGENCIES
