Modernize Coach Maintenance to Enhance Passenger Comfort -Shri Ravindra Gupta, GM, SCR
Shri Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway advised the officials and staff of Carriage Workshop, Lallaguda, Secunderabad to adopt new technologies to enhance the travel comfort of railway coaches as part of providing better passenger comfort during the travel. The General Manager undertook Annual inspection of the Carriage Workshop today i.e., 15th November, 2016. He was accompanied by Shri Arjun Mundiya, Chief Mechanical Engineer, Smt Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division and Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, Chief Workshop Manager, Carriage Workshop.
The General Manager conducted the inspection of Centre Buffer Coupling (CBC) section, Bogie shop; Roller Bearing shop; Corrosion shop; Electrical Repair shop; Lift Lower shop; Chemical and Metallurgical Laboratory etc. The General Manager was briefed on the working facilities, Manpower availability and output by the workshop officials through a power point presentation by Chief Workshop Manager.
Shri Ravindra Gupta advised that the Carriage Workshop shall be further modernized by means of enhancing infrastructure facilities of the most modern standards. He further stressed, that the Workshop shall rank amongst the top most on Indian Railways. During the inspection, the General Manager inaugurated a renovated Bogie Shop, Lift Lower Shop, CBC Shop, Computerised BMBC Test Branch, Knowledge Kiosk, Single Car Test Rig, New Corrosion Shop. These new additions are going to strengthen the infrastructural capabilities of the Workshop.
