ATVM SMART CARD MELA AT KANNUR STATION
Palakkad Division propose to launch a special drive to popularise the Smart Cards introduced for the purchase of unreserved tickets through Automatic Ticket Vending Machine(ATVM) installed at Railway stations over the Division. As a part of this drive, a SMART CARD MELA will be organised at Kannur Railway station from 11.00 hours to 17.00 hours on 15th May 2016(Sunday).
Different measures have been taken in the recent past to reduce the waiting time for purchase of unreserved tickets in front of Station ticket counters, including the special initiative introduced by Railway Board called ‘Operation Five Minutes’. ATVM is one such facility which help the Rail users to purchase unreserved tickets without hassle.
The Smart Cards are now ready for sale at all major stations in the Division. They are available with the Commercial Supervisor or Chief Booking Supervisor of the concerned Railway stations.
Features of Smart Cards
- A flat 5% additional usage value will be provided over the recharge value
- It is a life time card, provided it is recharged at least once an year
- Refund will be provided after deducting Rs.15/- as clerkage charge, while surrendering unused or partially used Smart Cards
- Smart Card is priced at Rs.100/- out of which, Rs.50/- will be retained as Security Deposit
- The recharge limit is Rs.9,500/-, while the maximum amount of balance on an ATVM smart card will be Rs.9,975/-, including Rs.475 as bonus.
- The vision towards a minimum waiting time at counters can be achieved only with the participation of rail users. Public holding Smart Cards, will be assisted by facilitators and the staff in booking office, while purchasing tickets through ATVMs.
