Trains Cancelled on December 2,2015 -Southern Railway
After a gap of few days , another spell of incessant rain battered Tamil Nadu and disrupted normal life in Chennai as many parts of the city have already gone under waters.
There is a further met office forecast of scattered to heavy rainfall on Tuesday in Chennai and Tamil Nadu, followed by a low pressure belt in the Bay of Bengal.
The incessant rain at Monday led to the water overflowing at the railway tracks in Villupuram – Tambaram section, forcing Southern Railways to cancel and divert some trains on Tuesday.
Anil Kumar Saxena, Additional DG (PR) said to media that, Chennai Egmore Villupuram and Chennai Central Gudur sections were badly affected, thus interrupting the normal train operations.
Confirming the news that more trains to be cancelled on December 2, tomorrow , Saxena also appealed the passengers to check their respective train statuses.
He also informed that senior officers of the Chennai division were monitoring the rain situation.
Here are the trains cancelled on December 2:
- Karaikkudi – Chennai Pallavan Express
- Madurai – Chennai Egmore Vaigai Express
- Chennai Egmore– Pondicherry Express
- Chennai– Tiruchirappalli Express
