Settle the Pensioners’ Grievances on Priority; Says Shri S.N. Singh, Addl. General Manager, SCR
Shri S.N. Singh, Addl. General Manager, South Central Railway, called upon railway officials to solve the grievances of the railway pensioners and their dependents in an expeditious manner. He was addressing at the 30th Pension Adalat, conducted by Personnel Department of SCR, today (15.12.2015) at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad for the benefit of pensioners retired from Headquarters of SCR. Further, Shri Singh stated that, apart from Pension Adalats, there must be a permanent arrangement by Personnel and Accounts Departments to pay attention and solve the grievances of pensioners on a daily basis.
Shri R.R. Prasad, Chief Personnel Officer, SCR, while addressing the large number of railway pensioners at the Pension Adalat, thanked the representatives of the Railway Pensioners’ Federation and Associations for bringing to the notice of administration about the grievances of pensioners which deserve priority. He informed that a permanent grievance redressal committee would be formed with officers from Personnel and Accounts Departments to meet the pensioners regularly and redress their grievances. He further stated that the 30th Pension Adalat received a total of 806 grievances from pensioners, out of which 701 cases were settled and an amount of Rs. 27, 04, 992/- was paid towards settlement dues.
Smt. Purna M. Cherla, Financial Advisor & Chief Account Officer (General), SCR,stated that accounts department would work in tandem with personnel department with an aim to reduce the number of grievances at the pension adalats to the bare minimum. Shri N.V. Ramana Reddi, Chief Personnel Officer (Admin), SCR, said that the hard word of the railway pensioners had gone into making the present day healthier railway system and assured streamlined efforts to redress grievances to the entire satisfaction of the pensioners.
Shri Shankar Rao, General Secretary, SCR Mazdoor Union; Shri Garg, Vice President, SCR Retired Officers’ Association; Shri Y.N. Sastry, President, All India Retired Railway Employees’ Federation also spoke on the occasion.
Similar Pension Adalats were held in all the Divisions and workshops of SCR to redress the grievances of the pensioners today.
