Palace on Wheels to chug into Gujarat

Ahmedabad (ADI): Very soon, Palace on Wheels, the luxury train of Rajasthan Tourism, will chug off from the city’s station. The train will undergo a metamorphosis as it will now host board meetings, product launches and also marriage parties on the move.

Sajid Sayed, who runs JS Ventura, a Gujarat-based travel company, has signed an agreement with the Rajasthan State Tourism Department and Indian Railways to bring the Palace on Wheels to Gujarat. According to the agreement, Sayed will run the train, which includes finalizing its itinerary as per bookings.

In August, the train will start plying from Gujarat with its first marriage party on board.

Sayed says, “We have booked the train for the year and will plan the journey according to the needs of our clientele. We plan to take the Palace on Wheels from Ahmedabad, and ahead to Udaipur, Jaipur, Savai Madhavpur, Delhi and the final destination will be Agra. We also have plans to host dinner for the passengers on the lawns near Taj Mahal. We have taken special permission for this.”

“Though the train will originate from Ahmedabad, we have to market Rajasthan state tourism as it is their property and will book guests in hotels run by the Rajasthan Tourism Department.” Officials said Palace on Wheels was hardly getting any takers while in Rajasthan. In its new run, much depends on the famous Gujarati enterprise.

The organization also has a limitless of adventure, sport at Goa and Netrani island for scuba diving, deep sea diving with special trainers from Holland at Manali and have Paraglyding, river rafting etc.
