Agitation affect Train movement between Lucknow-Gorakhpur

Lucknow (LKO): Passengers had a tough time at Lucknow station on Sunday as scorching heat made it difficult to wait for the late running trains on Lucknow-Gorakhpur route. Movement of trains on the main Gorakhpur-Gonda line remained affected for about eight hours due to agitation by Nishad community at Maghar station which affected operation of trains between Lucknow and Gorakhpur.

Though the traffic was restored on both the Up and Down tracks by 7:30pm it was not without disturbing the schedule of the trains at the station. Railways had to divert and short terminate few trains due to the agitation which started at 11:35am. “Movement of about 15 trains was affected in Lucknow division,” said PRO, Ner, Lucknow, Alok Srivastava.

The affected trains included 13020 Bagh express, 15707 Amrapali express, 12591 Gorakhpur-Yeshvantpur express, 04410 New Delhi-Barauni express, 55028 Gonda-Gorakhpur passenger, 12555 Gorakdham express, 12532 Lucknow-Gorakhpur intercity.

Diverted trains:

Train 12565 Darbhanga-New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti express, train 13019 Howrah-Kathgodam Bagh express, train 12553 Barauni-New Delhi Vaishali express was diverted via Bhatni-Aurihar-Varanasi; train 12522 Ernakulum-Barauni Raptisagar expres, train 05528 Anand Vihar-Jaynagar express was diverted via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Shahganj-Balia-Chhapra.
