NEW WESTERN ZONE TIME TABLE INCLUDES VARIOUS PASSENGER FRIENDLY FEATURES
In addition to the general convenience of the passengers, several new initiatives have been taken by including useful features separately in the newly printed Western Zone Time Table, to specify various trains as per actual need and easy reference of respective rail passengers. Western Zone Railway Time Table effective from 1st September, 2014 has been printed and published by Western Railway for four Zonal Railways i.e. Western Railway, Central Railway, North Western Railway & West Central Railway. Major highlights of the new Time Table are as follows:
·Premium Train announced for the first time in this year’s Railway Budget have been printed and shown separately with an easy to read glossy paper (B1 to B4).
·Duronto, Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi & Sampark Kranti trains have been shown on each page in a Dark Blue Band. These trains are also listed separately for easy reference (B 5 to B 13).
·Mail/Express trains have been shown in a Light Blue Band & Passenger trains in a White background.
·Days of operation and class of accommodation of each train have been shown in every table.
·Important All India trains taken as abstract of Trains at a Glance (TAG) have been included (B 14 to B 52)
·Important places of Tourist Interest over Western India are also shown.
·All India Railway Map and Western Zone Railway Map are given.
·The contents of the Time Table have been listed in an elaborate index given at the beginning of the Time Table. The index to the Express & Passenger trains (P.No.20 to 32) has been given in a easy to understand ascending order. 14 to 15 trains have been shown on every page instead of 17 to 18 trains being shown earlier which has improved readability. For the first time the relevant rail gauge i.e. Broad Gauge, Metre Gauge, Narrow Gauge have been shown on each page alongside Table Nos.
The Public Time Table not only gives the timings of the station but is a complete guide to the passengers intending to undertake rail journey. A separate page (P.No.374) for the Rail enquiries has been included for the first time. The Time Table also includes all rules/information of public interest, such as
·Retiring Room with tariffs
·Latest rules about reservation, Rail Travel concessions, Refund of tickets and booking of luggage.
·Rules of Reservation of Carriages/Tourist cars
·Amenities at stations and on trains including catering menus and charges for standard meal.
·Important information like platform tickets, forms for lodging FIRs in case of thefts, etc.
·Distance wise basic passenger fares (C 45 to C 48).
·Public Grievances Redressal Organisation, Vigilance Organisation and details with names and addresses of PIOs under RTI Act.
