EASTERN RAILWAY PERFORMANCE REVIEWED BY MOSR

Kolkata, September 1, 2014

Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways reviewed the performance of Eastern Railway at a high level meeting this morning at Kolkata.

Shri Sinha reviewed the passenger amenities, safety and security of passengers and particularly arrangements made by Eastern Railway during the festive season.

Earlier, Shri R. K. Gupta, General Manager, Eastern Railway welcomed the Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha with a bouquet and shawl. Shri Gupta appraised about the overall scenario, highlighting the achievements and the performance of Eastern Railway so far as passenger amenities, safety and security of the passengers are concerned, financial position and the o­ngoing projects position were also reviewed by the Hon’ble Minister.

Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble MOSR expressed his happiness over the performance and the activities concerning the passenger related issues, safety and security of the passengers by Eastern Railway. He appreciated the overall performance of Eastern Railway and advised General Manager to sustain the same activities and contribute to the further growth of Railways.

Regarding the safety, Shri Gupta, General Manager informed that the highest priority is being given by the Eastern Railway for safe, secure and timely running of mail/express trains as well as suburban trains.

Hon’ble Minister has said that Eastern Railway should continue all its effort for still better performance and help in progress and growth of Railways.

Shri R. K. Gupta, General Manager thanked the Minister for his concern for the o­ngoing projects of Eastern Railway and ER’s efforts for more passenger amenities with the available resources.

Shri B. K. Patel, Addl. General Manager, Eastern Railway and other principal officers attended the review meeting.
