SCR Bags Mens Team Championship & NR wins Women's Team Championship in 62nd All India Railway Badminton Tourney
South Central Railway mens team prevailed over South Western Railway to bag the Men’s Team Championship while Northern Railway beat Central Railway to win the Women’s Team Championship in the final of the 62nd All India Railway Badminton championship for Men & Women 2014. Both the finals, played today i.e., 3rdAugust, 2014 at RRC Sports Complex, Secunderabad, the winning teams out played the losers in exiting encounter.
Shri. S.K.Agarwal, Additional General Manager, SCR who was the chief guest presented the trophy to the winning teams. Shri Gajanan Mallya, Senior Deputy General Manager & President, (SCRSA), Shri K.V. Siva Prasad, General Secretary, SCRSA and Shri N.Srinivasa Raju, Secretary, Badminton, SCRSA, Other Senior Railway Officials were also present.
The individual open championship matches will commence from tomorrow and the finals are slated for 6th August, 2014.
Results of today’s matches (Mens):
1)South Central Railway beat South Western Railway (3-0) in the finals.
2)Eastern Railway beat South East Central Railway (3-0) in the playoff match for the 3rd position.
Results of today’s matches (Womens):
1)Northern Railway beat Central Railway Railway (3-1) in the finals.
2)North-East Frontier Railway beat Western Railway (2-1) in the playoff match for the 3rdposition.
